“We have nothing, yet we have everything” ❤️ this is why I follow you all, and get excited for a new upload! Your family bond and appreciation for everything, even the little things is inspiring!
David Pettit. Well said and so true. Lovely family building a great home for themselves. Just feels right, doesn’t it. I would personally love to do something like this also.
Seeing how you prepared in haste the sleeping arrangements for your children, I think you handled the trailer disintegration disaster perfectly. The way your children reacted to seeing the beds in the space you set up for them ...is everything. Started tearing up. I'm a dad, and I remember how my kids instantly, gleefully found joy and wonder in things I thought were barely make-do. Your home building story is turning out like a fairy tale - not by luck, not by chance, but because you made it turn out that way. You're a team de force as parents.
They are grateful because you both have taught them, showing love for one another keeps the children grounded. Together you all will make it. Admiration is what comes to mind. Well done.
I mean........you built this house form the bottom up, with your own hands!! And now, its sheltering you and your children!! How awesome is that! You should feel so proud! To the kids, it's just another adventure! They will always remember how mom and dad pulled this off!! You guys are exceptional!
@@MrFloydSaunders Like many, I saw the first video when they were setting the big footers and then the initial framing, to now, here, this! It's fairly incredible, actually. These two people aren't just skilled, they're funny too!
This is the reason why I now have subscribed to you...you both are such a gorgeous couple...love everything you do of your off-grid house...you have accomplished so much....love that series, it is the best I have ever seen and I've seen a couple examples of off-grid houses
I love the look of the railing - i honestly would fill the "open" area the same as the sides when it's no longer the boys sleeping space. the wood matching the rest of the woodwork, and the black metal rails is a really nice look!
Your kids' joy and excitement is heartwarming. I know you wanted to wait until this first phase of the home build was completed, but you ALMOST made it! And it's ALL GOOD!
"Nothing but air beds" dude I loved that as a kid. They’ll see it as an adventure like camping. Don’t stress too much. My mom once told me how she was so stressed because we had nothing and literally were in a new place with nothing and only make shift beds and she cried and thought it was the worse day of our lives but we remember it as an adventure. Those kids are great and it’s all just a new fun experience!
OMG those kids have been waiting to move into A REAL HOUSE practically all their lives. That place is ALREADY beautiful and they can FINALLY stretch their legs and minds out of that cramped damp camper. God just knew you two needed a final nudge. The time was right. Now put up some temporaty pictures (crayon art will be just fine) and a temp couch and tables and chairs. You're in there, keep moving forward.
I agree God was ready for them to move in. Your children will learn that were there is a will. There a way. Children learn from their parents. Love, truth and honor go's a long way. In Jesus name.
Kind of like the camping trips that my kids remember as the most fun and memorable, I look back on as often the most miserable. They're young, it will be a fun memory to talk about
Teers of joy for you and the kids. Congratulations on moving in. The camper problems was a blessing in disguise. Spring in Appalachia...you gotta love it!
When I was 10 my parents were building a house and we lived on site just like you, we also had to move in before it was complete and it's one of the best memories i have, finished or not it's still awesome especially for the kids
"I'm excited Mommy!" Oh I loved that 👏👏👏❤️. Your kiddos are going to be resilient and well-adjusted adults. They see how hard you guys are working. You're setting a great example for them. 🤗. Barb in NH
I think this is a blessing in disguise! You guys have always been able to adapt to the situation. No surprise here. "You ready?, Lets do it!" YOUR IN YOUR HOME!!!! :)
Beautiful temporary railing. You folks are so encouraging. You are not only resourceful, but also cheerful about it when life throws you disappointments and inconveniences.
It's so good to see your family move into your house. It is a gorgeous labor of love. Your children are such inspirational young people. Thank you for your perseverance and sharing your journey with us all.
Your kids will never forget these times, they will treasure the memories and will pass them to their children and their grandchildren in many ways other than just stories..

Sorry about the RV but what a feeling that must've been waking up in the house from the first time ...... and the excitement in the kids voices and on their faces. !!!
Kids have a simpler, far smarter checklist then we adults: 1) warm feet 2) food in my belly 3) Mom and Dad there to provide the hugs We all stand to learn something. They and you will adapt as we do - frankly snug as bugs in a rug.

I love your attitudes!!! The kids trust you guys because you have instilled a level of confidence in them! You guys are great parents!!! I laugh at some of the people on Social Media because of their lack of life skills you two are blessed with! Keep up the good work!
Tough times can be the best times. The difficult days when my family had to pull together are still the happiest times I remember from when I was a kid, and they made for stories that we told over and over again later as a family. Enjoy these days--they are golden.

Looking back those were the best years of my life as a child. Living in a house where my mum and dad did all the building work and decorating, and we did that twice.. Watching your videos brings back memories and reminds me just how special family times were.
You two are Amaaaazing! You need your own show! What talent & teamwork! I really enjoy watching... May God bless each of you with good health & His divine protection always.

Sorry for your troubles, but thank goodness the house is mostly liveable now. Your kids are taking as a great adventure! Fantastic! Too bad the railings are temporary because they're beautiful like furniture! God bless you all!
When my dad retired from the Navy we were in the process of building our own home but we could not get in done by the time he separated from the service. So I ended elementary school in the same situation as y'all. We were living in a very small camper while we worked to finish building the house. As soon as the house was walled in and sheathed my brother and I moved in with mattresses on the floor and we just built the house around us. It'll all be good and your kids will grow up understanding that even if things don't go as planned it's not the end of the world, everything does not have to suck..... it's just different... so adapt, keep your positivity, treat it like a new adventure and work to make it better. It's things like this that makes families stronger and kids grounded and resilient.
So true . Out of my immediate family of 6 of us only my youngest sister & myself are still a live . I miss my parents , sister & my brother very much . Holidays are just not the same w/o them in my life .
Home is where you and the ones you love are. Sacrifices only make for stronger families. Absolutely love the way you guys look at things. So few people left in this world with those qualities any longer. I love following you guys. Wonderful people. Lovely kids that appreciate things as you say big and small. I pray that things will go as smoothly for you guys as possible but I don't think it really matters. Obstacles to you guys are just lessons and ways to build a stronger family. I wish much prosperity and keep on keeping on. Love from Virginia.
