Cleansers are so interesting! I’m a rosacea and perioral dermatitis girl and my perfect cleanser has ended up being the Senté Soothing Cleanser, which is a non-foaming cream cleanser that somehow is *really* effective at removing layers of water-resistant sunscreen while actively calming my skin and never stripping. It’s my one-and-done and I don’t know how it does what it does so well. Victoria’s point about the manual technique is so important- I do really take my time to treat this cleanser like a cleansing balm. I add water slowly to sort of “emulsify” it and massage it in really gently and thoroughly. I do have to use prescription Avari (sulfur and sodium sulfacetamide) wash and it needs to be used cautiously because it can be a bit drying, as sulfur tends to be 😅
I have a crazy but very effective, gentle and economical way of using micellar water. I decant one half of the liquid into a foam dispenser and the other half into a spray dispenser. When I start to take off my makeup i push about a half egg size of foamed micellar water onto a cotton pad, set aside, then spray my face with micellar water, gently rub in with my fingertips, then wipe off with the foamy pad. I have very sensitive rosacea prone skin and this way can remove my makeup without irritation with relatively small amount of product.
