  • Great video of what it takes to go racing. Jet Change, back to original 94, in the secondary metering block. Switched fuel from C12, back to Q16. Showed what you need to take to track. Loaded junk, and car on trailer. Forgot weather station.( Weather was 71.2F, 1933ft) Went up from original 18psi, to 19psi, same 60, (1.29) then increased to 20psi and got a 1.28 60 on next pass. Ran a 9.39, at 142. But more about that pass, soon. So stay tuned to DragBoss Garage...
    Bossettes, and Mrs. DragBoss had a great time too. Family Fun Drag Racing

The great elapsed times verify the huge torque and power numbers from the dyno session. • @danielwilson6665
      @danielwilson6665 2 місяці тому +1

      Tim the huge number of positive comments about the unique sound of the exhaust note that this newest version of the DragBoss Cleveland has kinda confirms my comments about your great selection of well matched components along with your superb tuning skills. I think the sound is noticeably different because the custom headers are efficiently designed and tuned specifically for your application. If my memory is correct you built the 409 with considerably more compression than the others and that affects the exhaust sound. The combustion chamber responds very well to the high compression and Q16 fuel with a smoother, well controlled flame front and more complete burn. The natural result is more power and higher combustion pressure within the cylinder and the exhaust valve opening timing will impact the exhaust note.
      When comparing the sound of early Pro Stock Clevelands to the DragBoss Cougar, the similarities make sense when using horsepower as examples. Many early builders didn’t have the convenience a dynamometer at every speed shop but using the known performance data in the equations indicated a fairly accurate estimate of 650 horsepower. The 409 dyno results were 775 horsepower with 571 lb/ft of torque. The 409 has about 75 cubic inches more than the typical destroked PS Cleveland and better flowing Ford A3 alloy Morgan heads than the early high port modified factory iron heads.
      Who wouldn’t love the look of a vintage dual quad tunnel ram induction system ? But the 409 makes tons of power using a modern 4-V carb and Morgan optimized intake manifold.
      Despite the differences between the two engines, both make great power and the exhaust sound tells the story from a lopey cackle at idle to the screaming redline !
      DAMN…another excessively long and boring comment. Oh well, DBG and Clevelands deserve more than a 2 line comment 🤷‍♂️.

    • @DragBoss351Cleveland
      @DragBoss351Cleveland  2 місяці тому +1

      @danielwilson6665 thanks for taking the time to write your thoughts. The compression is the same as the 408 previously. The pistons are nearly flat top. CR is only 13.3. But they do have a unique sound. Nothing like it. O could listen to that for hours, lol. That’s is why I want to build a couple pro stocks Clevelands. But your right performance and sound influenced heavily by Morganized porting. Keep watching and commenting and stay tuned, because more amazement on the way.
