Jimmy was a huge part of getting Minnesota out of a 10+ yrs playoff drought. Helped the 76'ers get the closest they've been to the conference finals since Iverson. And took the Heat to not 1 but 2 NBA Finals. And he's a locker room cancer because he wants to get paid?
Kendrick said it best: “Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down”. These People just dont like Jimmy even when he playing his role and focus on the basketball they want him to fail.
My counter argument is that Pat Riley sat on his hands for years, expecting Jimmy to continue carrying the team as he's aging out of his prime. Therefore, how is the Heat's situation Jimmy's fault to where he's labeled the locker room cancer?
@ Bulls; A directionless organization. Wolves; Co-star was Charmin. Philly; Chose Tobias over him, because Jimmy challenged the coach to hold players accountable (Ben Simmons). Miami; Riley chose not to make any splash moves to support Jimmy/Bam, after TWO unprecedented runs to the Finals. If you think this is all Jimmy's fault, I'd beg to differ.
@@ifheavenwashumanany move pat could have made involved bam. He literally offered every player under 25 for dame. Every team wanted Bam who Riley was right not to trade.
Only casuals say Jimmy Butler is not worth the trouble and trading him would be another stain on Pat Riley. Jimmy Butler deserves a good pay off for his contributions to the Heat. He didn't win a championship but he's the primary reason the Heat made it to the finals with a mediocre Miami Heat team. Both time were unexpected. The Heat needs to raise a banner for this man because he contributed here more than he did Chicago.
People forget that Jimmy was a JuCo player who even lived in his car at times before going to Marquette. He just doesn’t take his profession for granted and he doesn’t allow others to
No it’s not lol. Not everyone team has that Heat culture. If he can’t respect guys like KAT and Embiid (who aren’t even that soft by today’s standards) because they’re soft, he’ll make a scene in most places.
Everytime we have heard about Jimmy going off behind the scenes its been completely justified a season later. The T-Wolves paid Wiggins and KAT over him, the 76ers paid Simmons and Harris over him, and now Miami don't want to pay him either. Lol GM love paying younger player for what they could be but never pay Jimmy for who he is right in front of them.
Jimmy Butler is a baller. But, he's a 35 year old baller. I know LeBron is still balling at 40 (barely, depending how much you squint--but he was all-nba up to age 39). But, LeBron isn't someone that compares to anyone else. Just like Tom Brady being an elite QB over age 40. They are outliners. Basketball is a young man's game.
I feel like LeBron has skewed people’s view on aging. Most players won’t be elite until they’re 40. Butler is a negative asset at this point. I’m a suns fan and I didn’t even want us to trade for Durant. Giving up a bunch of picks for old stars hasn’t ever really worked.
Says the casuals. People forget how he exposed the T.Wolves and the 76ers were good because of him and how he enhanced the Heat, despite the TWolves and theb76ers had a better team line up. It's funny how people easily forget and are trying to repeat history in saying Butler is a locker room cancer when he proved he's more about business than 95% of the players and organizations.
For teams like the Knicks i think people are to quick to say it will fail already. And if they arent a win now team its over. People have a short outlook and teams do not, they have this team for years now. And i am sure would be happy winning a chip in any one of those years. On that same note training camp is insanely important and they didn't have that together. I think the wolves of last year ear maybe a good example after finishing in 8th the first year the next year they finish in 3rd and make the ecf.
As a Miami Heat native and fan, Jimmy has been the biggest hope we’ve had at winning a title since the big three. Jimmy is far from being a locker room cancer and if he was he wouldn’t have a great relationship with his teammates. I get how the front office can get frustrated with him because he has a big personality and isn’t scared to say what he wants but you can’t deny that when it comes down to playoffs Jimmy shows up. It would be a shame to trade him and if we do it will be a long time till we get close to another title again. 🤷🏻♀️ just my opinion
The Knicks Acquired Landry Shamet, Marcus Morris, Moses Brown, TJ Warren, and Chuma Okeke Over The Off Season While Drafting Arial Hukporti, Tyler Kolek, and Pacome Dadiet If They Would’ve Keep Those 5 Their Bench Would Be Solid And Wouldn’t Be In The Situation Their In Now. bridges Wasn’t Worth 5 1st Round Picks Especially Trading Away DiVencenzo After Getting Him
Players on contracts this large are becoming borderline untradeable with the new CBA. Teams that would need a borderline all-star on an extremely overpay contract like Jimmy to contend now are all past the 1st apron and simply do not have the salarys to match and rebuilding teams dont want a 35 year old and neither does he want to be in a rebuilding situation. The only "contender" that could trade for Jimmy are the rockets if the deal centers around FVV, but where is the point of that for the heat?
Old, injured, wants a big contract is a whole lot of red flags. Who he was, who he is now and who he will be during life of next contract are three différent things.
Next season, if he wants a 3/$75M deal or something like that 😂 Don't wanna gut the roster this year. It'd be a different conversation if we had the contracts to move to get Jimmy but Melton just got moved so it's basically impossible now And that's fine
While i do agree with about Jimmy as a player, it's his contract that makes him untradable. He could just walk away for nothing, or even worse pick up his monster player option of his current contract. Also need to match his salary further complicating any possible trade.
@ that’s true. But your team peaked. Your bench is average at best and you have to run yah starters high mins to compete. Bucks, Celtics, Cavs, Magic are better than yall at full strength.
