My wife and I saw Richard III about a month ago. Was so impressed with the total package of the Tom Patterson theatre and how cohesive the lighting, audio and effects were to the performance. I'm sure the actors love working in that space too. Thanks to Greg Dougherty for the presentation!
The TPT has long been my favorite theater at Stratford because of how intimate it is and how wildly different the various seats can feel. It's a truly amazing space.
So awesome! Thank you for the walk through of the technical aspects!! Can’t wait until you open.
Such a beautiful theatre. I wish I lived nearby so I could see productions there.
Finally got to see a show in the space last night. It was so seamless.
Exciting!
Can’t wait to be there! Looks incredible!
This is marvellous! I really enjoy seeing how technology makes theatre magic happen.
Nice one 👏👏
High End 'Systems'
I love everything to do with the technical aspects of theatre so this was really interesting. I wonder how do you test the acoustics of a packed theatre without people in it?
Human volume absorbs sound, so less bounciness. The issues are with phasing and delays, so with less bounciness you get less phasing issues, but the removal of bounciness via human matter just makes the problem less severe and doesn't alter the mathemagicks needed for removing distortions.
Why would you need to amplify a speaker/singer in such an intimate space?
Its not as small as you think, and you need stuff like music. Screaming louder than the music would be 1. uncomfortable 2. unhearable
