This brings back memories of learning to skate backwards. I’m quite proficient now and don’t have to think about it even when keeping up with a flying forward, but I went through all the struggles you mention when I first started. Anyone struggling with it, have faith that it will come if you put the work in. Your brain and muscles need you to do it to develop the strength and balance. This isn’t something you can learn intellectually without doing it.
I don't think I've ever sat in a chair correctly in my life because I was nooooot getting the right form with the chair advice. So if there's any big dummies from the country like me, my alternate tip is that it's the same form as riding a horse. Thank you for this video! I've been learning to skate since October and your videos have been a huge help. Just started tryin to learn backwards skating, so this is super timely!
Finally a good video explaining! I was just at the rink practicing backwards but saw this video right when I got home. Will work on this the next time I'm at the rink. Thank you for all your content! You're helping me a lot after not playing hockey for 15 years and now starting again
yo super good videos maybe in the future for tutorial videos like this pls try to make them slightly shorter because as a teen my attention span is horrible and i debated clicking off due to the length of the video but otherwise great video and explanation ☺☺
@@HockeySideisHim Hey, thanks! Actually yeah I generally try to keep them around 10 mins or less. I already cut a bunch of stuff out, and didn’t want to cut out anymore. I thought of doing two videos, but I find the second one usually doesn’t get many views.

Exactly. You need someone to show you how, and then it’s just practice💪

Warum tu ich mir beim Rückwärtsübersetzten bei einer Seite so viel schwerer als bei der anderen? Vorwärts sind beide Seiten absolut kein Problem.
