Amir boxed extremely well for 5 rounds without ever hurting Canelo, he definitly has speed and skill but when you already have a suspect chin at lower weights it is very brave (or foolish) to go up 2 weight classes and get in with a massive puncher.

So clean how Canelo setup this knockout. He kept going for the body to make Amir subconsciously want to block a shot by mistake to protect his ribs. You can see his ribs with damage to make the body want to protect itself. I feel like his lead trainer knew from seeing the visible damage and recommended Canelo to slow it down to sacrifice power for accuracy.

Take a look at Khan's left ribs. Thats how Canelo set up the knockout punch. Made him believe it was another body shot, but loaded the blow for the chin.
Exactly. This fight was never as close as it seemed to the untrained eye. Meanwhile, Khan's ribs were taking a beating until he had to start dropping his hands to protect.

Canelo was just better conditioned for this fight he was able to pace himself better, khan gassed out lost focus and ultimately got koed.
I wouldn't say he gassed out at that point, but he was on his way to gassing out for sure. Canelo just waited, but he did lose 5 rounds so there's that.

Anyone watching this. Notice that leading up the the KO. Almost ALL of Canelo's lefts went for the head and pretty much every right he threw went to the body. He did it so much that Kahn got programmed to think he was safe when the right was being thrown. He was right, until he wasn't.

I initially thought Amir Khan was a scrub but when I clicked on this video I quickly saw how competent he was.
Canelo caught him with this hands down but what a solid fight. I actually thought AK was doing slightly better in the first 5 rounds. Love seeing real fights like these.
The reason khan dropped his guard was because every time canelo fainted a punch to the head he went for the body and khan adjusted to that rhythm, canelo was waiting for him to adjust and drop the guard to protect the body so he could land a punch to the head. Canelo is a calculated fighter.

Been watching Canelo's fights for a long time! He is one solid puncher, and after he works your body for a while, he either takes you out with a shot to the jaw, or a thundering shot to the liver!! Just one savy fighter!!

Khan who i never thought could box i would say this was his best fight,Big respect to Khan.
Khan has outboxed every world class fighter he has fought, his speed, work rate, punch variety and mobility overwhelm opponents, but on a few occasions he engages too much and loses defensive awareness.
@@ZaydDepaor Hindsight is 20/20 and I suppose it is possible that Khan could've kept it up and dominated the fight through 12 rounds... but part of me thought this ending was inevitable.

What I like about Canelo is he’s such a respectful guy to his opponents once they’re beat, same response after knocking out Kovalev quieting the crowd til he knew he was OK

These announcers are so in love with Kahn's speed that they don't seem to notice that Amir is not hitting Alvarez.
Kahn was just a moving target for a lethal punch during that last round.
Respect to Khan for taking that fight, and winning every round prior to the knockout. And respect to Canelo for getting closer and closer every round and put Khan in a trap by feinting to the body and land upstairs.

Mad respect to Kahn. He went up two weight classes to fight Canelo. That first 2 Piece combo in the first round was so fast that I didn't see it!!! He had the right fight plan and was executing perfectly, he just got caught with a Canelo special. Nothing u can do about that. 😂Also gotta give credit to Canelo's corner, their advice was SPOT-ON the whole fight.

The Liam Smith fight was a lot better. This is one of Canelo's more sloppy fights because Khan was moving so much and throwing wild combos with so much speed.
