Another Great video. You gave me a new way to look at my section of the Tennessee River (Wheeler Lake). I am guilty of being stuck in very specific areas when I catfish because its where I caught one before, but I try new areas for crappie, white bass, small mouth, whatever else, all the time. When my boat agrees to come out of the garage this spring I will have to try new areas for catfish that I haven't looked at before.
I enjoy your videos, Dieter. It's great how you don't have a boring instructional video on how to do whatever, you make it fun to watch. Keep up the great work sir!
That was fun, great fishing conditions with nice fish. That my biggest weakness whether to stay or go and always second guessing myself. I have sat for an hour and been successful and unsuccessful.👍
There’s only one time of the year that I can almost guarantee to know exactly where fish are. The spawn, on their beds. The trick is knowing how to go about finding where they make their beds. But, outside of then, you can somewhat pattern what they will do seasonally. I say somewhat, because there are always exceptions. You could catch a weird weather spell that affects them in any number of ways. There could be other things that affect them, like bait fish spawns, grass dying off, lake water levels being changed and, it might make them decide it’s a good day to do something else.
What do you do for suspended fish while trolling? I use the planner boards like a bobber and set them at the depth I want them and move. The ones on the back of the boat I'll use a balloon and use the same principle. Sure there are many ways of doing things. As long as it puts fish in the boat there is no wrong way, right.
Great video. From what i've seen planer boards get in the way. Wouldn't a large slip float dragging a bait be more effective? I had much success doing that with 3oz and 4oz weights.
Ha ?!! Sooooooooooo true " doin the same thing over and over " We get spots that are just so wicked looking we keep going back to them ! I've thought a lot of times " fish the most BORING places now and then.
the auto bilge is sick. my boat has a couple livewell set ups but i dont need em because i use a big tank for commercial fishing though i should have hooked it up but im not really done setting my boat up yet might still be awhile. but ya i disconnected them to clear in boat and one day the hose fell sideways in bottom of boat for the livewell because i never sealed it i didnt know. after getting like 400 lbs of catfish in teh boat when i went to leave my boat was barely moving im like wtf i dont have that much fish. it was kinda windy and wavy so i thought maybe it was just that but ya when i got out the water my boat was filled with water. lucky i have deep v so it can hold a lot of lbs before it sinks. but having a raised floor i didnt even know. ky lake is crazy today i had 2 lines on the west banks out had all channels two lines on the east bank out all blues lol.
Great video as always very informative. I have a question i have a b n m silver cat elite 7.5 medium heavy casting rod with a ancient matiner 6000 reel which i seen both on your videos and absolutely love them so my question is im looking to add a second combo i seen the piscifun chaos you use as well as alot of others and all have great things to say about them so my question is whst is a good affordable rod i was going to get a Shakespeare ugly stik cstfish special and here nothing but great things about them but the tip is very sensitive although a great rod my area of fishing has alot of current is there a stiffer action rod thats affordable you could recommend preferably a one piece 7.5 casting .

It's nice having a boat and definitely move to different spots helps a lot.

You give some good advice for fishing for catfish in the winter time. Sometimes you got to change things up. (First)
YES SIR!
I fish from the bank and I don't have any luck at all. Only got a couple at the lake and both off a crawfish I found next to where I was standing.
It may be where you are fishing and what kind of water you have around you.
Love the net cam great add to your videos
Hey buddy I always enjoy your videos I'll be at wateree in April hopefully I run into you again

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
So you don't have to go at night to catch Catfish everyone has told me you do and i'm not much of a night person l o l
Why catch the fish if you're just going to throw it in the water?
Because I don’t need to eat every fish I catch.
