INVESTOR EXPLAINS: Passive Investing

In this video, I shared my journey of discovering passive investing, a low cost, simple investment strategy requiring minimal involvement. I shared why I chose passive investing over active management: I didn't have the expertise or the time to pick companies for investment and I was aware of the high fees and challenges of beating the market consistently with active management. I explained how passive investing aims to maximize long-term returns by reducing frequent trading. I discussed how the strategy was pioneered by John Bogle and endorsed by Warren Buffet. I shared my own experience of using a stock market index tracker for my savings and pension scheme, and how my capital has grown at the market rate with minimal fees. I mentioned the prevalence of passive investing among institutional investors and across various asset classes. I concluded by expressing my belief that passive investing is the best strategy for individuals, due to its simplicity, low cost, and long-term growth potential.
