    The best video I have seen to date with no fancy crap, no millennial brat looking for face time on a video, and annoying music. Well done, and thank you!

    Your videos are the best. I fixed a broken iPhone someone gifted to me and now it is 100% functional. Thanks to you cost me less than $70 fix 3 issues. Looks like new now. A $400 iPhone 6 Plus cost me less than $70. Thanks a lot. I did subscribed and I have you thumbs up

    Thank you so much for this tutorial!! I dropped my phone in the water and it was suggested by another youtuber to replace this (he linked to your video) and perhaps the battery. We replaced this first since we recieved it in the mail first and the phone charged and turned on!! I am so happy that I get to retrieve all of the precious photos and videos of my kids. Thank you Lord!

    Just completed this and I can’t thank you enough for this tutorial! Followed the other video and we replaced the battery and the port. We have lines in the screen though. No matter how delicate we pressed the ribbons down, it still exist. Very possible it was bad beforehand but the charging port wouldn’t allow for a charge so I’m going to follow another video on changing the screen out!

    Once again Jerry you come to the rescue. Using your videos I’ve successfully changed my screen, and now my charging port. Your easy to follow instructions are terrific. Admittedly it took me a bit more than 6 minutes but that’s only as I have the dexterity of an ape with arthritis 😂. Phone now charges without me needing to jiggle the plug about. Success!

    Okay, i've NEVER done anything like that before but i got it done. From opening to exchanging the doc took less than 10 min but putting everything back took 2 hours. It was hard to line up everything perfect and i mixed up the screws. 2 screws won't fit so i left them out. I did see lines after hooking up the 4 cables and then the phone was "on" but wouldn't turn off. I freaked out but after reconnecting everything, worked good. BTW, small screws are PITA. Thanks so much. Sub'd

    My 6+ just suddenly stopped charging. Also my PC / iTunes no longer recognises if I attach the phone via USB. The phone WILL charge very slowly if I have it turned off completely. I've verified the cables and charger are good with another phone. If I turn the phone off and and plug it into a charger it will turn back on. However the lightning symbol to say it's charging does not appear when attached to the charger or my PC. I've put the phone in DFU mode but iTunes still can't see it. I know the battery is good because it does take a charge and the phone can be used. I have managed to do a software update from iOS 11.3 to 11.4 and this did not resolve the issue - Am I right in thinking the primary suspects are now hardware? Specifically the Charging port assembly?

    I may have to give this a try, I just looked on Apple.com and an after warranty repair is $329 just for the service fee! And I'm sure they'll inflate the cost of the charging port.

    • @Munchito696
      @Munchito696 9 років тому +2

      +Munchito696 Well I just saved myself time and money. I looked inside my port with direct sunlight and noticed discoloration at the back of the port. Then I thought of something... Compressed pocket lint! I broke a toothpick in half and used the splintered end and ended up digging out compressed lint and it works now! I figured blasting compressed air would get any lint out, but I guess it was packed in so tight that it needed something to break it up. If you are having charging problems check for that first.

      @BlazedMarsHD 8 років тому +2

      you are my hero, just had this problem and this solved it. At first i thought it was my port that was messed up because the charger would wiggle. Turns out it was the lint and now it does move at all and charges. Thank you !!!

  • @dwynia

    Thanks for the video. Before replacing the charging port I was able to wiggle the cord and get it to charge. ( tried several cords with the same result.) Unfortunately, after replacing it, everything works except it won't charge at all. If I plug in the lightning cable with the phone off, it wakes up the phone but will not charge it. I ordered and tried another charging port and have the same result. Any ideas? Did I miss connecting something? Thanks in advance.
