@@Sabundy I don't need to use something personally to see basic issues with it... Sorry that I offended you or something by sharing my personal opinion about subjective thing here. My bad. But as I seemingly already offended you, I can add some explanation why that UI doesn't work from practical side. You have wide screen with like entire meter of UI, like literally. There is no real reason to have such wide bar where you will need to scroll all the way to the left just to interact with one of the buttons, it could have been nice compact area of buttons with icons only without any of that "fancy" background which only creates unnecessary clucker and its harder to see what's where. There is a reason why most UI's today are simplistic, usually single colored, as it provides quick and clear indication what it is and where it is instead of you needing to find specific text describing a thing you might be looking for which is buried inside some random photo. Its a car UI, it needs to be intuitive and quick to access, having 1 meter of UI isn't that.

Not EVERYTHING has to be the same old boring widget design we have seen a million times by now. Nor does every EV need to have the boring tablet stuck on the dashboard design. Also, your bizarre assertion is based on lack of information. It has already been clearly stated why the screen is as wide acoss as it is. 1) research that they did found that a driver having to only look left and right to assess information is less tiring on the eyes long term than a tablet set in the centre. But of course being the expert that you are im sure you know better with all the research you have done. 2) Its also designed to be used by both the driver and the passenger. And the display can be swiped over to either the driver or the passenger. So if the passenger searches something..... Such as a location on a map.... Then they just swipe it across from their side to the drivers side. With neither having to look at a tablet in the centre (so your claim that there is no reason for it is just straight up BS) Again..... This has been openly stated by the designers about how and why the design was the result of a lot of research. Now.....does that mean they are "right"? No it does not. Because its still a specific design decision which will make it subjective to a degree. But its at least based on research regarding how people look at and acess information while driving. And for me..... I would greatly prefer it over a tablet in the centre of the dashboard. You might prefer the tablet. So that doesnt make it "bad" as per your opinion. It makes it a matter of taste and preference. And unlike you I want to see different takes on UIs and EV interiors as opposed to the cookie cutter same old same old you want....
Cars are becoming just computers on wheels, so a partnership with Sony actually seems smart af. I can't say I like the design, but I'm very interested to see where this car goes.
Afeela sounds like some alphabet salad product on the first page of Amazon results trying to buy a USB charger. The one that you’d need to unplug at night in case it tries to burn your house down. Why Honda would walk away from one of the most respected automotive brands for their electric vehicle brand, I just don’t get.
It comes off like a modern pimp my ride for SEMA. The back screens look tacked on, front LCD might total the car from a 5mph bump. Not sure on the hump in the floor being expected in modern EVs? I thought most EVs had flat floors all around with the battery under them? Think they're too late to the game on luxury evs, should've scaled up the Honda E to a subcompact instead.
You refer to Honda a lot during the video, especially regarding the software.... Surely you should be talking about Sony in regard to the electronics! It is mainly their project with Honda supplying the underpinnings.

Hate the name. Didn't that small Honda EV have a wrap around screen? I am old enough when people cautioned against running with your speedometer lighting too bright at night to avoid hitting a deer or a pedestrian because of night vision loss. Giant LCDs just seem like folly to me outside of a well lit freeway system.

Unless this car is fully autonomous (and we're not talking Tesla "full self driving" here, I mean actually self driving) there are a ton of choices here that just won't work. Nobody aside from Tesla fanatics that are willing to forego common sense for their fanaticism wants a steering yoke. Having your entire dashboard become a Playstation is fully pointless unless everyone in the car (including the "driver") don't have to pay attention to the road, especially since it wouldn't even be allowed to be in use if the vehicle is in motion (by law). The screen in the bumper is just silly and serves no real purpose other than to be a talking point on TikTok, 100% that will be axed in the production car. I like that it's a car because the EV world desperately needs more efficient EVs (which is next to impossible with boxy, oversized SUVs) and the overall shape looks nice. Right now, it looks like either a concept car that is just throwing random technology concepts at the wall to see what sticks, or another overpriced luxury EV with pointless bloat added to try and justify the price.
I’m not hating the design, the technology and screens are way too much and are really distracting, I mean if you wanna live in your car play video games watch TV sit out side and watch the exterior display EVs are too expensive and complex the market is not good and do not foresee any future improvements, with existing EVs sitting on lots dealers trying to discount them further, they are still not selling well, so new ones like this won’t sell too well, we need simple vehicles not over technology complicated
Are these brands trying to bankrupt their customers? I can't imagine how much it would cost to replace some of the parts of this thing, especially the screen on the front of the vehicle. Who asked for this? I really hope this flops.
The features dont work good for rich people, like rich people wont sit in their car and game and do things, its more of aomething made for regular people that might shoot youtube videos, in the car and maybe play online games on all the screens that would be fire i feel like people who can afford this car are just going to get in drive and get out
They're grifting for government (aka tax payer money) grants and investor money. Don't expect any viable consumer products to ever be created and you won't be disappointed. That's not the point, which is to make a few very rich before the bottom falls out.
I feel yah..... wow what an awful name. And a no thank you to the yolk steering wheel. And sweet, more things to distract the driver!! We didn't have enough of that here in Toronto. When you see a whole family in the mall walking along looking down at their screens not talking to each other, you know we are at the end of civilization. Yah, that's what I saw this weekend.
Great! With all the latest technologies, they finally made cars that are "UN-stealable"..... LOL! "NOT" Shameful. Thieves can steal the latest new cars in just a few seconds. lol
Designed for high levels of autonomy? I don't believe for a second this will be released with that much self-driving capability. So most of these features will never be available for early adopters of the brand.
Yeah I'm pessimistic. Volvo just delayed autonomous features for the EX90, and Audi and Mercedes have been struggling to deploy their level 3 autonomy to most countries/regions. The only ones I can think of are GM Super Cruise, Ford BlueCruise (both of which require driver attention), and Mercedes Drive Pilot (which only works in California, Nevada, and Germany).
I have a 2019 Croststrek. It has a small audio only screen. I use Carplay and just trying to hit one small touch screen button to change playlists etc is clearly distracting. What is a door to door wide screen with Spiderman and Playstation going to do for us? It really is getting ridiculous. All this electronic tech stuff is done not because we need it but because we can. And why do we all of a sudden need a yoke style wheel? And as others say, too many ev’s are aimed at the luxury market.
The market is over saturated with luxury evs. We need affordable ones.

Afeela?! I hardly know her!

Agreed
Built for customers who lease
The insurance rate on this car is going to set a new bar lol
I smell a FLOP!!!
i thought this project was dead.
Probably unaffordable for most folks.
I can say with confidence afeela will be a failure, just don’t see this being successful
It is going to be huge hit.
(~_^) Guess which car company secretly collaborates with The Flinstones?
Thinking Someone watched too much Kingh rider back in the day...
That's cool, but that's a bit too much for me. I'd rather play games at home.
microsoft and maybe hyundai should partner and make an Xbox car
Microsoft still has PTSD from their Ford Sync days lol
I'd be curious to see what they came up with. -Travis
Natok.
They gonna say im hating but it kinda already looks dated already compared to Alot of evs out there, but nice collaboration tho
I guess it's ok. I hate the steering yoke. So stupid. Too many screens.
The features dont work good for rich people, like rich people wont sit in their car and game and do things, its more of aomething made for regular people that might shoot youtube videos, in the car and maybe play online games on all the screens that would be fire i feel like people who can afford this car are just going to get in drive and get out
All these random companies out of nowhere want to get into the EV game.
They're grifting for government (aka tax payer money) grants and investor money. Don't expect any viable consumer products to ever be created and you won't be disappointed. That's not the point, which is to make a few very rich before the bottom falls out.
Random companies?
Okay 😂
I wouldn't call Sony random nor wonder why Honda want's in on the EV game. No brainer if you ask me; you should be asking why they didn't do it sooner
@@mr.c6674 random = never built vehicle ever before
@@GlitterGuru if they aren't mandated to then there's no urgency is my guess.
SONY HONDA = KONDA KONDI
I have a 2019 Croststrek. It has a small audio only screen. I use Carplay and just trying to hit one small touch screen button to change playlists etc is clearly distracting. What is a door to door wide screen with Spiderman and Playstation going to do for us? It really is getting ridiculous. All this electronic tech stuff is done not because we need it but because we can. And why do we all of a sudden need a yoke style wheel? And as others say, too many ev’s are aimed at the luxury market.
'Afeela' sick to my stomach just looking at this thing.
Hey look, it's a Polestar?
horrible, this will fail
