Jan De Rooy wins the 1987 Paris-Dakar Rally

R.I.P. Johannes "Jan" de Rooy (19 February 1943 - 30 January 2024)
Remembering 1987 Paris-Dakar truck class winner Jan de Rooy, who passed away recently at the age of 80, following a short illness. Jan was a rally RAID master and made his Dakar debut in 1982. At the 1987 event, at the wheel of his DAF Turbo Twin II truck, he secured a dominant victory winning the class by over eleven hours and finishing an impressive eleventh overall.
