Before Rise i had a theory that she might be the daughter of Solo and Q’uira, and becoming Kylo’s sister. But as soon as we saw Rey do something (I won’t say unless ppl read this who haven’t seen the Rise yet) I knew right away who she was related to. It was a shock i can tell you. The Mandalorian is in better hands than this trilogy has been. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are old school Star Wars fans which is what we needed (Would you agree Rogue One, made by an old school Star Wars fan Gareth Edwards, was the best Disney SW content before Mandalorian?). Also yeah, Lucas was winging it from day 1, brought in many writers to help morph that original trilogy into shape.... But there's a difference between winging it and breaking it. I'll still be in the theater Christmas Night, it's a tradition but whatever direction they've chosen I hope they really do stick to their guns and let the Skywalker story rest in peace 😭🌝🌝🌝 This is the way

Han Solo's son being named Ben does undo Luke's arc, post Endor in legends that is. Luke's son in legends was named Ben Skywalker and he didn't become a sith. The main problem for Rey being a Skywalker is that for Luke to have a child would be in keeping with his legends character. The canon Luke is dramatically different from the legends Luke. I think that's the main problem.

What if Chewie and Han did raise her but were told by Luke that if he continued to try raising a girl with a Force Signature stronger than Darth Vader that he'd die. Han didn't want to take the chance of being killed by Rey or getting Leia and Chewie harmed by the oblivious child and so he gave her to his old best friend (kinda like Lando). Someone he knew wouldn't be trying to get with little girls or harm children since from what we could see, Unclar didn't seem very aggressive but just grumpy. Surprised Rey didn't turn into a rude adolescent girl honestly. But anyways, that's my theory. She was raised up to like maybe 3 and then they basically abandoned her on Jakuu and sine she had grown "attached" as Yoda said, she was yelling for them to come back. And let's say that after the left and a few years passed that she forgot what they looked like. And when she reunites with them in TFA Han is cautious with her but also happy she didn't die on Jakuu. This is kinda convoluted but yeah 😂

Flashbacks, The movie leads you to believe that she’s connected to Han, anakin lightsaber, she’s the one to go look for Luke. That’s the main problem with the last Jedi. It feels like a completely different standalone movie. And it’s not like the time line between movies is years apart like the OT and prequels. In fact not only her identity is necessary but Fin’s back story is also necessary to save Disney’s trilogy

You know what the thing about it is, the darth vader twist wasn’t in the script. JJ is a star wars fan, if you quote ep. 5 with a big family reveal you would also quote the part where they hid the big twist. They could’ve obviously just put it in the script that gets handed out to literally everyone working on the movie, but I kinda doubt that. Another problem I have with this theory in general is that you would fn have to imagine the emperor having sex. I don’t want that. If the emperor would have wanted children (which makes absolutely no sense for his character imho because why would he want offspring that would eventually inherit his empire. he doesn’t want anyone to inherit it he wants to sit on that throne for eternity) he would have cloned the perfect offspring. Which is my opinion the best explanation, especially if you want a palpatine rey connection. Palpatine tried to clone force sensitive beings. One of those clones was too powerful, our Rey, so he ordered her to be killed. She survived tho and was raised by someone from the OT who left her on Jakku. The other clone(s) left are the dark side rey we get to see in the teaser and maybe even the knights of ren. Would be a pretty sick reveal if it turns out that the knights of ren are just other clones of Rey.

I was thinking Vader and Kenobi. It seemed pretty convincing Kenobi is the father in the 7th. With no training she first uses her powers to control Troopers. Then in the 8th movie you hear old Ben’s voice as she’s left on Jaku.

The Rise of Skywalker refers to both Ben Solo and Rey as a collective. Rey is a Skywalker. She was trained as a Jedi at a young age by Luke. After Ben destroyed Luke's Jedi temple, she was hidden by Han on Jakku. He traded his ship in value for the protection of Rey and that she would be able to work for the slaver. Han let Leia believe she was dead/or they agreed to keep her away to protect her from Ben. Hence why there is a strained relationship between Han and Leia, and why there are frequent comparisons in The Force Awakens. This is why there is a connection between Ben and Rey, it is why Leia embraces Rey at the end of The Force Awakens, coincidentally after Maz asks Han ''Who's the girl?'' of which the scene cuts and we don't get to hear the answer. Daisy Ridley herself said that she thought it was ''obvious'' who Rey's parents were. It is essentially a re-hash of the Jacen/Jaina Solo plot. Peace.
Ben looks like hes the same age in the flash back where destroyed the temple. When Rey splits with her parents she's a kid. I think the timeline isn't the same to support your theory.

If you hadn't seen someone since they were nine because they died, were kidnapped, or even just moved away, you (more than likely) wouldn't recognize them as an adult because, hey, it _couldn't_ _possibly_ _be_ _them_. The scene where Leia asks Han "who's the girl?" can be seen as an example of an instance where someone recognizes someone else but isn't sure who they are. As for everyone else, it's not like keeping someone's identity secret and pretending not to know someone has ever occured in Star Wars before. Right?
Another thought is Rey as a child being held back watching her "parents" ship leaving Jakku it's clearly not the falcon...which could be the reason why the Falcon is on Jakku -- Han simply swapped ships. To further the idea it could be why Han left it so maybe one day he would see her again.

best idea yet for the final episode which means of course disney wont use it lol. That would explain why both Han Solo and Leia felt such a strong connection to Rey and it would explain her insane speed at learning force powers (if augmented by Palpatines spirit etc). Also instead of a clone both could be twin daughters of Darth Vader created by Imperials from his dna merged with a force sensitive empire woman (unknown but there has to be some out there etc). Same basic idea just twin sisters instead of clones.

Except that Rey is nowhere near the age she would need to be to be around at a time when Vader was alive and trying to clone people. She was a baby years after his death. Not to mention the fact that cloning is not exactly a hard or overly complicated process in Star Wars. Decades before the sequel trilogy and even the original trilogy, the Kaminoans created hundreds of thousands, even millions of Clone Troops for the Galactic Republic from Jango Fett's DNA. Aside from their personalities, they were completely identical to Jango in every way. If Rey really were a clone of anyone, she should look like them. Just like how all of the clones in the Clone Wars era look like Jango Fett. In fact, the only time people seem to have trouble cloning anyone in the Star Wars universe is when they are Force sensitive. I believe she could be a clone, but of one of the male characters. She may even be made up of the DNA from multiple people. If she is a clone, both of those could be reasons for why she doesn't look like anyone we've seen before.

It might have been intended as both. The force was telling him Vader was his father, since he didn't know what his father looked like Anakin's real face would have meant nothing, and that it made him more likely to fall to the darkside.

Before Rise i had a theory that she might be the daughter of Solo and Q’uira, and becoming Kylo’s sister. But as soon as we saw Rey do something (I won’t say unless ppl read this who haven’t seen the Rise yet) I knew right away who she was related to. It was a shock i can tell you. The film was just a huge hit. Maybe the best of all. Who thinks the same?

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are old school Star Wars fans which is what we needed (Would you agree Rogue One, made by an old school Star Wars fan Gareth Edwards, was the best Disney SW content before Mandalorian?). Han Solo's son being named Ben does undo Luke's arc, post Endor in legends that is. Luke's son in legends was named Ben Skywalker and he didn't become a sith. The main problem for Rey being a Skywalker is that for Luke to have a child would be in keeping with his legends character. The canon Luke is dramatically different from the legends Luke. What if Chewie and Han did raise her but were told by Luke that if he continued to try raising a girl with a Force Signature stronger than Darth Vader that he'd die. Han didn't want to take the chance of being killed by Rey or getting Leia and Chewie harmed by the oblivious child and so he gave her to his old best friend (kinda like Lando). Someone he knew wouldn't be trying to get with little girls or harm children since from what we could see, Unclar didn't seem very aggressive but just grumpy. Surprised Rey didn't turn into a rude adolescent girl honestly. But anyways, that's my theory. She was raised up to like maybe 3 and then they basically abandoned her on Jakuu and sine she had grown "attached" as Yoda said, she was yelling for them to come back. And let's say that after the left and a few years passed that she forgot what they looked like. And when she reunites with them in TFA Han is cautious with her but also happy she didn't die on Jakuu. This is kinda convoluted but yeah 😂

You know what the thing about it is, the darth vader twist wasn’t in the script.
JJ is a star wars fan, if you quote ep. 5 with a big family reveal you would also quote the part where they hid the big twist.
They could’ve obviously just put it in the script that gets handed out to literally everyone working on the movie, but I kinda doubt that.
Another problem I have with this theory in general is that you would fn have to imagine the emperor having sex. I don’t want that. If the emperor would have wanted children (which makes absolutely no sense for his character imho because why would he want offspring that would eventually inherit his empire. he doesn’t want anyone to inherit it he wants to sit on that throne for eternity) he would have cloned the perfect offspring. Which is my opinion the best explanation, especially if you want a palpatine rey connection. Palpatine tried to clone force sensitive beings. One of those clones was too powerful, our Rey, so he ordered her to be killed. She survived tho and was raised by someone from the OT who left her on Jakku. The other clone(s) left are the dark side rey we get to see in the teaser and maybe even the knights of ren. Would be a pretty sick reveal if it turns out that the knights of ren are just other clones of Rey.

The Rise of Skywalker refers to both Ben Solo and Rey as a collective.
Rey is a Skywalker. She was trained as a Jedi at a young age by Luke. After Ben destroyed Luke's Jedi temple, she was hidden by Han on Jakku. He traded his ship in value for the protection of Rey and that she would be able to work for the slaver.
Han let Leia believe she was dead/or they agreed to keep her away to protect her from Ben. Hence why there is a strained relationship between Han and Leia, and why there are frequent comparisons in The Force Awakens. This is why there is a connection between Ben and Rey, it is why Leia embraces Rey at the end of The Force Awakens, coincidentally after Maz asks Han ''Who's the girl?'' of which the scene cuts and we don't get to hear the answer.
Daisy Ridley herself said that she thought it was ''obvious'' who Rey's parents were.
It is essentially a re-hash of the Jacen/Jaina Solo plot.

If you hadn't seen someone since they were nine because they died, were kidnapped, or even just moved away, you (more than likely) wouldn't recognize them as an adult because, hey, it _couldn't_ _possibly_ _be_ _them_.
The scene where Leia asks Han "who's the girl?" can be seen as an example of an instance where someone recognizes someone else but isn't sure who they are. As for everyone else, it's not like keeping someone's identity secret and pretending not to know someone has ever occured in Star Wars before. Right?

That would explain why both Han Solo and Leia felt such a strong connection to Rey and it would explain her insane speed at learning force powers (if augmented by Palpatines spirit etc). Also instead of a clone both could be twin daughters of Darth Vader created by Imperials from his dna merged with a force sensitive empire woman (unknown but there has to be some out there etc). Same basic idea just twin sisters instead of clones.

Except that Rey is nowhere near the age she would need to be to be around at a time when Vader was alive and trying to clone people. She was a baby years after his death. Not to mention the fact that cloning is not exactly a hard or overly complicated process in Star Wars. Decades before the sequel trilogy and even the original trilogy, the Kaminoans created hundreds of thousands, even millions of Clone Troops for the Galactic Republic from Jango Fett's DNA. Aside from their personalities, they were completely identical to Jango in every way.
If Rey really were a clone of anyone, she should look like them. Just like how all of the clones in the Clone Wars era look like Jango Fett. In fact, the only time people seem to have trouble cloning anyone in the Star Wars universe is when they are Force sensitive. I believe she could be a clone, but of one of the male characters. She may even be made up of the DNA from multiple people. If she is a clone, both of those could be reasons for why she doesn't look like anyone we've seen before.

It might have been intended as both. The force was telling him Vader was his father, since he didn't know what his father looked like Anakin's real face would have meant nothing, and that it made him more likely to fall to the darkside.
