Currently playing baldurs gate 3. I have never played D&D or a crpg and it is absolutely amazing. I am wrapping up act 1 and as a person who usually plays through a game once, I can see my self playing this game over and over again.
Game is absolutely incredible! I’m looking forward to playing some others like sea of stars, starfield, remnant 2… but baldurs gate has my heart and will be my GOTY no doubt. Just so immersive. Incredible in so many ways.
I’ve been playing the Baten Kaitos HD remastered collection, Pikmin 1 & 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Armored Core VI and Lies of P… this year has been absolutely packed with incredible games, and we still have Spider-Man 2, Alan Wake 2, Super Mario Bros. Wonder and the Super Mario RPG remake on the horizon. There’s not enough hours in the day… so many great games to play and so little time! 😂
Pikmin 1 and 2 and the Switch have actually been censored. The GameCube versions are the only uncensored versions. Thus I avoided buying those remasters. The hell with censorship of any kind. If something offends you then avoided or grow up!
My brother and I have been binging the Tales of Series as of late. Currently, I'm playing through Tales of the Abyss on the 3DS while he's playing through Tales of Xillia on the PS3.
I'm currently blasting my way through the Quake 2 remaster. Boy oh boy are Nightdive Studios good at what they do with these titles from my teenage years!
I love how positive this channel is. So many Nintendo focused channels have gone so negative and all about rumors. There's too much negativity in our world today it's just really nice to see some positivity in something! I really enjoy the channel.
Baldurs Gate 3 on pc. In about 60 hours. I have been looking forward to seeing you do a review on this. I am sure you will get it on ps5. Game of the year contender for sure.
I've been playing Persona 4 Golden for the first time. 30 hours in and loving it. This week I wanna start Silent Hill again because I wanna play through Silent Hill and Silent Hill 2 before Halloween. Also wrapping up Remnant II with my friend and that's been fun as well
I just played the Star Ocean The Second Story demo and i LOVED it, i played Claude's path first, i might try Rena's path soon and can i also just say that i am BLOWN AWAY by the HD-2D art, it is absolutely stunning :)

Finished Tales of Arise today and it was all because I found about the game because of you. Thank you so much for it. Ppsss... also thank you for recommending Huntdown. Loved it.
My 3 month journey playing Zelda Link to the Past is almost complete! I’ve never played it before and have made it a personal goal to not use any guides or walkthroughs. It’s been an absolute joy. Although there have been times I’ve wanted to tear my hair out when I didn’t know how to progress or got stuck in a dungeon, but that feeling of accomplishment you get when you solve that puzzle or triumph over something that was preventing your progress is overwhelming. I’m ready to move on, but also a little sad. I felt the same way when I beat Ocarina of Time for the first time early this year I’m February; you can only play these games for the first time once. So I’ve been trying to make it count and savor the experience. I finally get all the hype you and Rob have gushed about this game over the last 15+ years!
Hi Kim & Johnny...your wonderful gaming insights and recommendations are always greatly appreciated. I'm an older gamer who's been at it since the 1970's (first game was Pong...Pub Pong). I'm currently playing The Legend of Zelda-BOTW for the very first time and after this TOTK. Best Wishes from down under (Australia). 🙃🧡
Got Sea of Stars totally on the word of Johnny. Such a great game so far, 3 - 4 hours into the game I am hooked. Would love a physical copy - support a Canadian dev.
There’s something about coming back to a difficult boss fight after taking a break from it that you can almost guarantee beating it first try, the number of times that’s happened for me is staggering 😂
I remember getting stuck at the final boss in Duke Nuken Forever (hardcore mode) and one day i smoked a joint and start the game, beat it without being touched, i tought the joint was the key, but after hearding what you said maybe i am wrong
I just bought Sea of Stars for the switch. That game looks amazing with it's pixel graphics. Also, the soundtrack is really good. I'll pick up the physical US version when it drops next year. Its able to keep me busy while I'm waiting for Super Mario RPG and Persona 5 Tactica.
This year is insane. Currently playing Armored Core VI (Johnny, make sure you do NG+ and NG++ there is much more after you finish the main game the 1st time) Lunar 2, Darkest Dungeon, Code Vein, Titanfall 2 (servers are fixed!) and Divine Divinity! Love the videos Happy Console Gamer!!
I've been playing Sea of Stars too! Wonderful game, I just got Moonstone Island too which was released recently, it's a charming indie game that mixes up the Farming genre with creature collecting & battling, so much funsies. My next game will probably be Dune Spice Wars, which just got its full release too! :) Great vid as always.
You are an inspiration to gaming couples the world over. I have tried to get my wife into gaming, she went from hating games to taking over my PS Vita which she won't give back now :p
I think it's cool how Kim seems to be getting really comfortable doing this, just like how Johnny took a while himself early on. Maybe it's just me but you both had a fluid conversation here that was cool.
I just started playing The Legend of Nayuta Boundless Trails. You talk about comfort food, that game just transports me back and really gives me the "feeling" of the ps2 era when I play it. Even if the game was awful, it would be worth it for that feeling alone, but it's also just a tight fun little game.
@togakure9 Yes! It was the perfect length too. Not super difficult, just a joy to play. I'm 40 years old and I missed out on the entire GBA generation. Same with the DS. So, I'm catching up.
Glad I'm not the only one who fires all my weapons at the dead bosses in armored core. I just watched Macross Plus for the first time and I think I'm in love with that series and Kawamori's design.
I got the platinum for Armored Core VI, one of my games of the year and I’m actively kicking myself for not having gotten into AC before 🙃 the C Spider boss gave me a lot of trouble as well lol I’m now giving Death Stranding another college try. Love Metal Gear, love Kojima, but I’ve held off for long enough and I feel I’ve gotten better at gaming so it’s time 😈
Johnny talking about beating the sea spider and feeling like nothing could stand in his way anymore reminds me of what it felt like to beat Genichiro in Sekiro for the first time. Can't wait to play Armored Core VI. I just started Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at the moment, loved the first game.
I randomly picked up a little game on the switch called romancing saga 3 and i gebuinely cannot believe how good this game is. Tons of RPGs on the backlog including sea of stars and octopath 2 and I still haven't finished armored core 6 or baldurs gate 3 either
Like Kim, taking my time with Sea of Stars. Loving it. A bit nervous for October 😬. A lot of must play releases back to back and that’s with some of them moving to next year. Wish me luck next month.
Hey guys ! At the moment , I’m kind of between games. Finished a couple , waiting for a few , so I fired up my old-old laptop and are currently revisiting old DOS games as a total change of perspective of my gaming. Sort of recharging. So : Ultima underworld 1 & 2 Ultima VII & VIII X-wing Tie fighter Elder scrolls-Daggerfall Dark forces Doom I & II Eye of the beholder I-III Just to pass time in a pleasant and nostalgic way , waiting for my wishlist games.
Yeah, I feel like I'm drowning a bit myself, lol. Right now, I'm swinging between Lies of P on my S and finishing Atlas Fallen after just finishing Sea of Stars which took me by storm. Incredible game. I'm also adding a little The Crew Motorfest in there. If you're a fan of Forza Horizon, this is Ubi's take at it. It's a little less polished and lesser budget but it's set in Hawaii so beautiful and pretty fun. Looking forward to Lords of the Fallen and Star Ocean 2 remake. What a crazy Fall!
Sea of Stars is my goty for me. Did everything in the game, 100% it. Even did the hidden bonus from Sabotage... Won't spoil it but it's absolutely magical.
I also really like the apparent Japanese cover for Sea of Stars. I've been playing a lot of old stuff, as I usually do. Lately it's been Strider arcade(lots of it), Strider 2(PS1), Mad Stalker(PS1), Knights of the Round, Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, Punisher(arcade), Armored Warriors, Last Blade 2, Fist of the North Star(arcade), King of Fighters '98. I've also been messing around with some light gun games because a friend of mine got the Sinden Light Gun but couldn't set it up, so I got that job. I'm also currently a few episodes into the original Dirty Pair anime TV series(been watching other shows this year too). Not gaming, but I'm mentioning it because why the hell not?
My backlog is insane... I'm trying to catch up but I'm also trying to enjoy all other aspects of life but it's tough 😅 definitely not enough time to finish everything in life! Maybe if I didn't have to go to work for 40 hours a week 😂
Same, same. I've been putting off some games in the backlog, but now they're all getting sequels in the next couple of months. I have no clue how I'm going to manage to catch up. On top of that, I borrowed some games from a friend and they want them back before Christmas, so now I'm definitely not going to make it xD
I am currently playing in my backlog PS2 game “Dark Cloud” it is so unique rpg game that the characters don’t grind like in normal rpg games & the weapons can be broken in the dungeons. I ❤️ this game as I have to be careful & plan/carry certain items in each level.
don't remember me of dark cloud, this game and i have a long history together, when me and my family were in our old little warm house, i remember playing this game, and my sister who usually hates videos games, listen to the soundtrack of the village you build, and she said I LOVE THIS MUSIC, :( now we are in a new big house with a garden and shit, no one talks to no one, everyone's room is far than the other in like 50m, everyone eats alone, i hate this house. when they decided to sell our old house i always said no, but they said to me you don't know anything :( now even they regret our old home :(
Dressed in your Halloween best. After FF16, I needed a chill game so I played through Gris. It's so relaxing and the art style is SO Beautifully Amazing. It's a super quick one, but there's a secret scene if you find all the collectibles.
First of all Sundays are a tradition waking up and watching your episodes... Thank you Back to the question finally decided to play Tunic and holy crap what a love letter like Rob said... Beat it and loved every single aspect of it, moving into Dragon Quest XI... About time and finishing Gow Ragnarok... Ps. That sea of stars you guys are gonna make me jump on it 😅
Speaking of Zen, that's how I always feel watching these videos. As for the backlog, yeah I'm working on getting through some Ys games before I become a dad in January. Currently working on 9. I plan on jumping between the games in no specific order.
I just finished Alan Wake Remastered cause I’m hyped for the sequel. Friday night I started Yakuza 0 alongside my friend and we plan to grind the platinum since it takes approximately 140 hours. Otherwise I haven’t played much. I touched Eastward again but I guess it wasn’t time to play it cause I didn’t get glued to it. Hopefully Yakuza 0 hold my attention till the end.
Just finished Blasphemous 2 yesterday. Man, what a game. I’m thinking Sea of Stars is next. Octopath 2 has been a slow burn game for me as well. Pretty stacked haha. Great video!
I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3, Starfield, Sea of Stars, Trails from Zero and finally preparing for Phantom Liberty cause of Cyberpunk 2077! It has been a good year for gaming so far for me. Can't wait for a little reprieve to play a cozy game :P.
I've been making major progress in the backlog this week, I finished Loz Oracle of Ages on Wednesday, Pokemon's dlc on Thursday then finished Super Mario 64 Saturday morning
I just picked up Armored Core again and without paying attention, 5 hours have gone by like that. But before that, yesterday I finished Separate Ways - the Resident Evil 4 DLC, and it was amazing! The S+ on Professional was pretty challenging but was fun throughout the whole way. Also playing Mortal Kombat 1 - finished everything that the game could offer as single player and now I just hop in for online matches and practising. I really want to find time to hop back into Fire Emblem: Engage and to check out the F-Zero Battle Royale.
Great games you both are playing!! For me I'm playing Baldur's Gate 3 for a main story top of the line game, Starfield for a sandbox exploring game. and since the release date for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I just started to play FFVII (ps1 version) for my laid back nostalgic game.
I've gone right to the start of my backlog with 2 games I didn't complete back in the day. Just finished Supermario Galaxy and I'm about half way through FF9....loving it.
So happy to see you enjoy Pikmin 4 as much as I did. I played Pikmin back on GameCube and I have to say 4 is my favorite too. I have played We love Katamari Reroll, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, and Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration. I am also nearing the end of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, as that is the only sub-series I have not played through, but as the stories from Trails in the Sky and onwards are in a way connected I will play through all 3 games by the end of the year, as we are getting a new sub-series released in 2024 which I am super excited for.
Playing through lies of p and my second playthrough of armored core 6. Also finally plaguetale Requiem. Finished zelda totk last week. Waiting for autumn and the Harry Potter itch to finally play through hogwarts :) its banger of a year! Sea of stars is also on my hard drive but im juggling so many games 😂 love you guys! Have a good one!
I finished 100%/platinum on Sea of Stars, what an amazing game. Gorgeuous visuals, nostalgic music, rewarding combat, perfect 2d platforming and exploration. Easily one of the best if not the best pixel RPGs I've ever played.
Been playing MK1, story mode. Really enjoying what NetherRealm has done with the new reboot. Backlog: I still need to finish Tears of the Kingdom. The grind for rupees really stings. I made some progress within the Zora area, but will dive back in soon
Y'all are great, and this channel has been one of the biggest inspirations to start my own channel (only one review up, but more to come! ;) ). Been between games lately, also been on the fence about Armored Core VI, but I think now I'm convinced!
Yup, that's how it goes. You have a hard time with a boss, then you take a break and your mind relaxes and works on it in the background, and then you come back and beat it. Or you just take a "whatever" round where you're not really trying and somehow beat it easily.
I'm balls deep in Octopath Traveler and it's totally my comfort game at the moment. It's all I think about when I'm not home playing it. Such a fun game with stunning visuals and amazing writing.
Awesome list! Maybe you guys should play a coop campaign in Baldur's Gate 3! I'm currently going through Trails of Cold Steel III, in hopes of the catching up to Trails of Daybreak that was announced for Summer 2024. On my down time to relax and recharge, exploring and taking my time with Xenoblade has doing wonders.
Armored core has always been super hard. the ps1/ps2 games and the camera just trying to lock onto something, and the money mechanic where if you failed enough missions and went bankrupt it would wipe your save, and make you start over its was insane.
Playing Baten Kaitos HD, wasn't expecting much from a blind buy after missing out on Gamecube but I'm really enjoying it. Music and graphics are nice, I'm surprised by the low number of sales and little discussion however apart from Nintendo Direct the marketing has been bad
John I've never in my life had such an awesome year of gaming there's so much I wanna play and so little time to do so. I never in my life had too many rpgs to tackle like this year! I was ok with just my ps5 but since I bought the oled, it feels like I'm drowning in backlog!! As always love listening to you and Kim man great show of gamelove!!!
So cool to see Pikmin 4 show up among your favorite games right now. I appreciate that you guys celebrate a variety of games on the channel, and not just the big flashy AAA titles. Great episode!
I'm currently playing the original FF7 for the first time and I'm about to go into the final boss. I now understand why this game was such a big deal when it came out. Such a good game!
Been playing The Legend of Nayuta on my PS5. Never played the original release, but I heard great things about this so I decided to give it a try. I'm having a great time, and haven't enjoyed a game this much in quite a while.
I bought a Switch just a few days ago and i absolutely love it. The perfect device for an 38 yrs old father of two. Right now i am browsing through the huge library and i am amazed how many awesome games it has to offer. I totally slept on this system for all these years. Besides the first party heavy hitters like the Zelda and Mario games, im also looking forward to play some more of the beautiful indie games i missed out on the other systems, like Ori and the blind forest, Hades etc. There are also some games that i am very interested in and will release very soon (Batman Trilogy, MGS Collection). The best part is that i can play all of these games on the go, awesome system!
I'm currently playing Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, Lies of P, Pikmin 1 +2, and Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle. My backlog is huge, and I'm enjoying the adventure of trying to get thru it.
AC6 is my obsession at the moment. Got the Platinum, and I still want to play more. I paid one month of psplus just to play AC6 some more. It's a lot of fun to fight online.
I've been making my way through the Ghost Trick remaster, Trails in the Sky 3 and Rain Code lately. Really loving playing multiple games at once again, which I never do 😊.
Recently finished Mario Odyssey, Mario 3D World, Bowser's Fury, and now I'm playing New Super Lucky's Tale and just started back playing Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. After finishing those two, I need a good RPG to play, but I'm not sure what yet. Maybe the Super Mario RPG remake. That should be released by the time I finish my current list of games.
I'm trying to get through Sea of Stars too. Yakuza 5 is still going as well as Live A Live. Tomorrow I'll be getting the 30th anniversary Mortal Kombat cabinet from Arcade1up. Trying to build it will be my no1. priority "game".
I am currently playing Mortal Kombat 1 and Splatoon 3! Tomorrow I will be starting the Resident Evil 4 Remake DLC as well! So much coming out to play this year is insane I also skipped Starfield for now as well. Great Video as always you two! :D
Found the same thing in Elden Ring - couldn't get past a boss to save my life. Get super frustrated, then came back to it a couple days later and one shot the boss. Very much need to be in that From Software zone to play the game, and if you're not, best to come back later when you are again.
I’m at the very end of Sea of Stars but I know there is a robust post-game for a true ending so I’ll have to do that, too Also grabbed the RE4 DLC and I’m so hyped to jump into that
I just finished the Seperate Ways DLC for RE4 Remake and it was Amazing! It added so much more to the story for me. I enjoyed it so much. I'm a big fan of the series and I love all the new things they added as well. Whenever you get a little time you have to play it. Its def worth your time and its short like 4-5hrs! You will not regret it.
Coffee, and Happyconsolegamer is the best start to a morning.
Cheers ☕️
I wish they’d make this full time and release content daily.
I’d also like to chill with them and just kick it
I agree
That’s a good start to a day.
Currently playing baldurs gate 3. I have never played D&D or a crpg and it is absolutely amazing. I am wrapping up act 1 and as a person who usually plays through a game once, I can see my self playing this game over and over again.
Noo don't play Baldur gate 3, I bought it and its all hype, the game play is terrible.
Ditto. What platforms are you playing on? I'm on pc.
The turn based combat without much thinking is very boring, even Ninja said on stream.@@DawnRazor-wy8uv

I also did the bonus a few days ago. What a fun time this game was right?
I just discovered the Atelier Series and Finished my first one (Atelier Sophie). Already picked up the Ryza Trilogy and looking forward to it
I also really like the apparent Japanese cover for Sea of Stars.
I ❤️ this game as I have to be careful & plan/carry certain items in each level.
don't remember me of dark cloud, this game and i have a long history together, when me and my family were in our old little warm house, i remember playing this game, and my sister who usually hates videos games, listen to the soundtrack of the village you build, and she said I LOVE THIS MUSIC, :(
now we are in a new big house with a garden and shit, no one talks to no one, everyone's room is far than the other in like 50m, everyone eats alone, i hate this house.
when they decided to sell our old house i always said no, but they said to me you don't know anything :( now even they regret our old home :(
Dressed in your Halloween best.
After FF16, I needed a chill game so I played through Gris. It's so relaxing and the art style is SO Beautifully Amazing. It's a super quick one, but there's a secret scene if you find all the collectibles.
Gris made me cry lol
Gris is amazing. Can't wait for the studios new game 'Neva'.
@@NookyBroonToon 😯 I'll have to keep an eye out for that.
First of all Sundays are a tradition waking up and watching your episodes... Thank you
Back to the question finally decided to play Tunic and holy crap what a love letter like Rob said...
Thanks for sharing more games with all of us. You guys are the best.
"When I leave this world, I will never regret the time I spent playing video games."
Amen, John. Amen.
Recently completed sea of stars what a great game and it's so beautiful. I only heard of it because of you guys thanks 👍🏻
I've been making major progress in the backlog this week, I finished Loz Oracle of Ages on Wednesday, Pokemon's dlc on Thursday then finished Super Mario 64 Saturday morning
I beat the new armored core and I gave it a 10/10! Definitely a must-play, even for newcomers to the series!
I've been mostly playing the Ridge Racer games this past month. I recently got Ridge Racer 6 for my Xbox 360, and I love it so much. 😁
I got 36 hours out of it, and that's without completing new game+
love u so much guys, it make me smile every time on each video !
RE4 Remake Seperate Ways, Armored Core 6 and Baldur's Gate 3. We're eating good this year, my god
I'm still taking my sweet time playing Baldur's Gate 3.
Its one of my favourite games I've played in a long while.
Same here!
Balls deep…
Jealous of your shirt, i want one 😂
You two are the BEST together!
Armored Core VI on NG+4. Missed the coral oscillator sword on last playthrough.
I cant wait to hear you talk about Baldurs gate 3 honestly. I thought you would be all over it but yes there are TONS of games right now.
Yes! We are eating good with the way these games keep releasing. I'm playing Bg3 and Sea of Stars, absolutely my favorites. Alan Wake 2 is coming!
Seeing that you've also been playing Sea of Stars and Armored Core 6, my two favorite games of the moment, brings me much joy. ☺️
I'm currently playing the original FF7 for the first time and I'm about to go into the final boss. I now understand why this game was such a big deal when it came out. Such a good game!
This game and Metal Gear Solid made me a PlayStation fan for life
That is cool to hear!
Nice I just picked up RE 4 remake and been switching back and forth between that and the original
Been playing The Legend of Nayuta on my PS5. Never played the original release, but I heard great things about this so I decided to give it a try. I'm having a great time, and haven't enjoyed a game this much in quite a while.
Just finished Baldur’s Gate 3 (GOTY for sure) and now I’m starting my new playthrough of Cyberpunk thanks to the 2.0 update.
Kim and Johnny - absolute treasures. So thankful for you both.
Finished Eastward a few weeks ago, and been playing Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition on Steam.
She even read the Harry Potter books! She’s awesome!!
I’m at the very end of Sea of Stars but I know there is a robust post-game for a true ending so I’ll have to do that, too
Also grabbed the RE4 DLC and I’m so hyped to jump into that
I think it adds about 4-5 hours
I just finished the Seperate Ways DLC for RE4 Remake and it was Amazing! It added so much more to the story for me. I enjoyed it so much. I'm a big fan of the series and I love all the new things they added as well. Whenever you get a little time you have to play it. Its def worth your time and its short like 4-5hrs! You will not regret it.
