You explain your reasons very well instead of just giving an opinion about your style over what their style is.( a lot of makeovers do that👎) You have brought the rooms to new levels. The cream colored closet curtain was amazing. Never would have thought of that on my own. I would have tried to match the white wall. And your stick on tile on the fireplace changed everything. This is incredible work. I will be very happy to see so much more of this.

It’s like a Mr. Kate + George to the Rescue kind of renovation without having to be traveling or spending money on your own behalf. Plus any subscriber can watch this video and take notes and simply change some things in their own space to improve it💚

So many of Drew's suggestion could be found at IKEA or thrifted. Or maybe you have a furniture piece you no longer like. Sell it and use the $$ for something that is better for your space. I get it...I had to save months for a light fixture I loved.
About 70% of my furniture was bought used. Amazing what a new coat of paint and some updated drawer pulls will do. I got a nice living room rug for under $100 from Habitat for Humanity’s Restore shop, and made another one for my bathroom out of old t-shirts. The only downside of diy is that you trade saved money for an investment of time.
Loved the stick tile and using the shelves to dress that fireplace. Then moving the mirror over was like. Yes, awesomeness. Such a good eye.
I hope there’s a second part showing what Advice they all took & how the rooms turned out
I absolutely loved ALL of the suggestions you gave for the green room for the student. If she does everything, that room would be soooo stunning!!
I was expecting one makeover and you gave us 4!!! Most of the changes you suggested were so affordable, could be done in a weekend, but they made such a big difference! The one suggestion I would add for the "green room" would be to place a couple table lamps or an arcing floor lamp to add some cozy light when you don't want to use the overhead light. Such a great video, Drew!
I love how you take normal everyday people’s homes & give your beautiful honest opinion without being uppity or too far fetched. I am loving this series. Keep it coming!!!
Regarding the first room - for curtain rod behind the bed...place the rod 6" to 8" from the CEILING. Not just above the window header - it will draw your eyes up and really elongate the height of the ceiling. Similar to your suggestion on the closet curtains.

*DREW...... what a great video. You said legit EVERYTHING that I would have done. At the end I was like hoping you were gonna say to mount the tv above the fireplace , and then you did. I am WITH YOU with doing a darker green in that one space on the walls... cause I’m obsessed with “moody rooms” (anyone interested in a dark wall color... go to Pinterest and search “moody rooms” and you’ll see amazing spaces that use dark color on the walls and it’s so sultry and romantic in my mind, I’m obsessed. The one thing I learned from this video... is when you mentioned for the one room with the matching chair to the couch with the “chunky furniture” to swap the matching chair out with a nice and small arm chair??? I was so about it!!!! SUCH a great idea. And I do think recently with design trends it’s been a thing to have not COMPLETE matching set furniture. Like... to have a statement piece couch, and then two arm chairs. Or to have a simple, but large couch. And two statement piece arm chairs. But GEEZ I just want you to know how much I loved this video!!!! I really hope you continue with this series. You are SO underrated as an interior designer. I watch MANY MANY MANY interior designers here on UA-cam.... AND NO FREAKING JOKE YOU ARE THE ONNNLLYY ONE that I’ve seen who can accommodate ANY person TO THEIR exact style... (besides Mr. Kate) but seriously!!! Most other interior designers here on UA-cam are only good at redecorating rooms to THEIR exact style and not really the style of the person they are doing it for. Just found this series by watching #3 and I LOVE how your advice is about seeing what people are doing and taking what's already there into cool new directions. Also explaining why you're making suggestions is so helpful for those of us watching and wanting to try it in our homes as well. Awesome series and now that I'm caught up can't wait for more.

The last room... I’d change the walls to grey, white wash that brick, mount the tv on the brick. Mount a pretty dark walnut shelf below that tv on the fireplace. And I’d put in a small sectional in front of the tv, and a light rug under the couch/ottoman/coffee table!

The stone /brick ledges on Daniela’s fireplace were meant to hold planters with trailing shiny ivy when they were built in the late 1940’s so you were spot on with that suggestion!
However, peel-and-stick tiles won’t work if the fireplace is *ever* used. Their adhesive will fail and will likely emit toxic fumes. I don’t think the tiles will melt but it could happen.
After watching this I'd be embarrased to send in my pictures because my room is SOOOO cluttered. But that's what I desperately need help with.

FYI that amazon platform bed you mentioned in the first bit of the video is actually amazing. I got one because I needed something with a very minimal profile to fit in a spot in my room, but was worried because sometimes metal beds can be squeaky and rickety. It's actually probably my sturdiest piece of furniture, and was super quick and easy to put together. And you can buy bracket attachments with them for super cheap if you want to attach a headboard and/or footboard to it. It also has over a foot of storage underneath, where most simple beds only have 5-7 inches of accessible space.
This is my favorite series!! It’s amazing to see your thought process and just learn from that. Please make more! ☺️☺️

Honestly this is such an incredible series and an amazing idea! First of all, your taste is so elegant, and you did an amazing job adapting it to all of your viewers needs. The time you spent photoshopping your idea was so helpful in visualizing the way it would change the room. For the first room, she can add cute wall hooks (maybe gold) for extra areas for hanging coats and bags for when she has guests.
Another video by you that I didn’t know I needed. Like peel and stick tile plants and shelves and paint. Game changers that I completely missed. And your input on their homes were awesome. The whole video, ugh!

Loved this! I moved into my room over a year ago and still haven’t finished decorating. Idk why it seemed so simple to me but I just can’t make up my mind about a specific style. Painted the room white and got rid of over half of my stuff as I was initially going for a minimalist style, but I also love retro and mid century haha this is so much harder than it seems! I’m having such a hard time making it look like a unique, aesthetically pleasing, sophisticated look instead of like a teenage girl’s room or frat boy dorm lol it seems like everything I do looks so basic. 🤷🏻♀️😩

wait this was really so good!!! i didn’t know how this would turn out since we couldn’t see the space but the way you incorporated the videos AND also somehow being able to show the “upgrades” is absolutely genius. i don’t know how you managed to do this so quickly but you done did it again, Drew!
The second person might be able to use fitted sheets as slip covers for the sofa. It is hard to say without measurements, but they might be able to be put on the cushions and then use safety pins to fold together any slack at the back top corner, you can use fusing tape to make the connections permanent.
I really like this series! It’s helpful for ideas on how to deal with real space challenges and easy fixes to transform a space. Can’t wait to see more!!

In the first room, the guest room, I would keep the grey colour on the walls but make ceiling and a stripe of couple of inches above on the walls white. The suggested shear curtains behind the bed should come as high as possible. This two ideas and the suggested tree pictures would make the room look spacier without changing the leading nice grey colour. If they are with some window views or bright spaces it would be really perfect! What about a small bench infront of the bed and something like a clock above the door? The nice woman's face drowning can come on the wall in order not to be so hidden. I'm always very cautious around vases and plants because of the water.

I think it would be cool to have two options: conservative make over versus a bold makeover - just to see the two options where you are working with the space and then one where you have more creative license - maybe even working with a blank canvas - to show insights people may not have considered. But I understand that you are helping people to tweak or complete their space and it would be a lot more work to put a video together.
I liked this before even watching, and Drew you have such a heart!!! I love how you give such great advice, but you're still so humble, and you always want to give your viewers the freedom to take what they want and leave the rest, or tweak your ideas. I can definitely see you having a show one day if that's what you wanted to do! This series is so exciting, and definitely gives me hope for decorating when we move soon!!! I love seeing how you would redecorate real spaces :)

Don't be shy about sharing your ideas, because I'm sure that people already love your design aesthetic, and that's why they are looking to you for some helpful advice. Yes, this is a great addition to your channel. But don't get burnt out by doing it too often, you already have great content. I thought that you added so many good ideas today, good takeaways for us all. I would love to hear if you have a couple of go to dark gray greens of paint colour that you like, I was intrigued and leaning towards painting a couple of small tables in my rental apartment.

Ok Drew this the best video I’ve seen. I’ve seen other UA-camr do this type of idea but I love that you edit items into the picture!! It’s so much more realistic and you can actually see what it would look like instead of doodle!! Love love it!
I love how all the rooms turned out and all your tips are really great. One thing I noticed though was that you didn't seem to ask them what their style was , all the rooms seemed much more your style (which is very nice and trendy too) but if you were to improve you could find out more about them (maybe through their social media - I have seen one interior design UA-cam do this) to make their spaces more personal to them. :) But I completely appreciate how much hardwork this is.
