it was about 3 years ago around this time that i came up with a video from your channel and i have to say, you changed my entire life as a student. you made me understand you don't need to just read thru text to memorize but actually try to figure out a way in which your brain can actually process the given information!
i have been trying to stretch out my field of knowledge as far as i can in the past 2 summer breaks. here are some of the things i learnt to do as a day-to-day routine to help me out with cognitive enhancement. (will sure be trying to get into faster typing and reading and also most likely will purchase the memory training course too!)
    1. playing the guitar
    2. playing chess (seriously amazing for memory enhancement but very hard to get good at if your just starting out)
    3. learnt German (hard but good for trying to challenge your brain)
    4. Forex (a really amazing way to get a little ahead of other students in the area of summer jobs with an easy 50$ a day with an hour of effortless effort)
    5. read AT LEAST 2 hours of books a day (not only does it enhances your base knowledge but it also expands your vocabulary which is good if your like me and English isn't your first language)
    6. get some information about a topic that you like. (one of the main sciences would do. just make sure its level is higher than your own or the one they teach you in school. for me as a 11th grader, I chose biology, chemistry and quantum physics)
    7. try to learn your textbooks (or at least get an overall view of the topics) for the next year to come. this makes sure your always one step ahead from every one else in your grade
    8. listen to 40 Hz gamma wave binaural beats 3 times a day for 15 minutes each time before starting a study cycle. and also listen to 20 minutes of 4-6 Hz theta waves to help with better sleep. (it works try it then, if it didn't work call it bullshit)
yes a lot of you will call me a nerd. but lets be realistic. the average student sleeps 6 hours a night so overall you get around 18 hours awake. i usually spend 12 hours studying (spread out into different parts of the day of course) and 6 hours binge watching my favorite shows. you do that and Voila! you got yourself a good 12-hour study to 12-hour rest rate. a good 1:1 ratio for a student always helps with growing brain functionality and improving focus and overall stress and anxiety (cuz let's be real... we all got that before exams and shit)
PS. remember that i did this in 3 years. so you know... about 6 months of non-school days. just try to do 2 or 3 tasks at once cuz if you go over that your brain is gonna burnout.
thanks for the great videos! as i said before, you helped me out a lot a few years back and its nice to know your still doing the good deeds.
-this has been you friendly neighborhood nerd... peace out✌

I'm learning Spanish on duolingo and last Christmas I bought a violin!

Outstanding Pumco. Here's a video I did a while back on memorizing foreign language vocabulary that you may find helpful. ua-cam.com/video/KhIQ7qB47Dk/v-deo.html Violin is a beautiful instrument. It takes quite a bit of determination to play it well. If you haven't tried piano, it's the one I most strongly recommend for beginners, as it is the perhaps the easiest to learn, while simultaneously being the most difficult to completely master.

Thanks for the compliment on my Thumbnail Arpan. I'm still doing my own artwork from scratch. (Even my 22 year old daughter said she like my thumbnails... Go Figure. LOL) I don't have any idea what "HollywoodBob" is but I'll go look it up. Hope you liked the video too.

As someone who has studied on and off italian and is now trying to study french I find all of these ideas great for anyone and anytime in general. Maybe next make a video on how to have an unfair advantage in general? anyways I really love your videos and as a little side tangent you didn't ask for, in a world where we have access to things that arguably lessen our mental capabilities in some way, such as substances like cannabis and alcohol that mess with our cognitive abilities, to short form content that destroys our attention spans, it's nice to know that it goes both ways and you can also better your mind instead of harming it daily like most of us do, me especially I love weed.

Hi Sebstabro. I like your post. Here's a video I did a while ago on memorizing foreign language vocabulary that you may find interesting and helpful. ua-cam.com/video/KhIQ7qB47Dk/v-deo.html
I'll consider what sort of content I could put in a video about giving someone an OVERALL Unfair Advantage.Good thought. You are right about substances that can mess with someone's cognitive powers. Also, watching so much short form content is damaging people's attention spans. I'm glad you're aware of those issues. I agree, it's good to know that it goes both ways and that there are things you can do, and supplements you can take to reinforce your brain power.
Regarding weed. It used to be that one knew what they were buying. It was just variations of the same plant grown in different places: Alcapulco Gold, Maui Wowie, and others. These days grass is treated with so many other substances that you can never be sure what you're taking.
