    It's interesting comparing the CB1000 Hornet and the MT09 SP. Obviously the Hornet has an extra 30 hp but the MT09 has way more tech, more premium feel and way less weight thanks to the alloy frame. If all you want is more power than the Hornet is the obvious choice but if you want a better bike overall then maybe the MT09 SP is the way to go? Personally I lean towards the Honda because I am a big fan and the value for money is amazing but I do wish they made it a little more premium even if it meant that it was a bit more expensive. Like a simple one button cruise control would have been appreciated, a more comfortable passenger seat is an absolute must. I take my GF on my CB650R all the time. We did a 2.5 hour ride yesterday and on Monday we went for a 3.5 hour round trip. She would hate me if I bought this bike and she had to sit on that terrible passenger seat. It's a styling fail. They focused too much on making the back end look like a hornets tail and forgot about actually making a functional seat. I also think Honda's dash is one of the most boring to look at of just about any brand. Even a budget Duke 390 has way cooler graphics or CF Moto, BMW, Kawasaki etc. They all have way nicer graphic design on their dashboards. Honda's looks like it was designed by an engineer, not a graphic designer. I am an engineer by the way but I appreciate that good graphic design improves the user experience and their dash just looks boring as heck. I don't care about the welded subframe. Realistically 99% of these bikes will go their whole lives without a damaged subframe and the few that do will be written off and replaced under insurance and then the bike will be torn apart for parts and someone will put this motor in a go-kart or something crazy like that. Always fun to see what people do with salvaged litre bikes. Overall I think Honda have made an awesome bike but they just need to polish some of the rough edges. In a couple of years when I am ready for an upgrade (I just bought my CB650R a year ago) I hope that they have improved this bike and not just let it stagnate.

    Heated grips and quick shifter are options on the standard bike (sp has quickshifter standard) the screen can be changed to white background through the dash too

    The hornet cb750 wasn’t smooth with its Snatchy throttle I had mine for 18 months had to go because of it,
    I have ridden the Hornet 1000 last week I didn’t have any issue with the fueling on it which was a pleasant change I am thinking about buying one
    I was going to buy the SP version but after seeing it in the metal not keen on that Matt charcoal finish I would go for the standard red one

      Yeah this should of offered the sp In all colors. Just add the decal, would of been smarter option for honda.
      But seems the sp is a killer deal for the price. If it were me, I'd buy the sp, and put different decals, or paint the fairings... something to make it stand out. But would deff go for the sp, personally.

    It's not that this Honda bike is that cheap for its quality of build and finish, it's the fact that it's competitors, kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, is way overpriced, particularly in Ireland.

    • @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes
      @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes  6 днів тому +3

      @Liam-xo5jp Maybe the industry are finally asking what the bikes are worth, not just what they can get? That would make a nice change especially with a Ducati 🤣

    • @Liam-xo5jp

      @Budget-Cars-And-Bikes I personally would prefer if these Trademark Manufacturers would just remake the old style best selling bikes of their time, without Mode,s etc.etc and keep the prices down to a minimum.
      I still have a 2002 Honda Hornet cb900f, great bike still.
      A kawasaki Z900RS SP is 16000 euros today in Ireland??
      I would expect a good car and a good bike for this price 😄😄

      In Australia Z900 is approx $6500 cheaper than the Honda SP expected price $16100 AUD v $22500AUD …and Kawasaki Z900 has cruise control and quick shifter six axis IMU as standard …so Kawasaki is way more value for money here in Oz.
      In my non biased opinion ( Honda Transalp owner ) the Z900 looks way better than the standard Hornet.

    • @SomewhereInside
      @SomewhereInside 6 днів тому +3

      Agree about indicators , nearly got cleaned up at an intersection on my Transalp .
      It’s the drivers that have no experience of these always lit indicators .
      It is not legislation in Australia to have these always lit indicators yet Honda have no option to disconnect the idiotic feature .
      You can change the background display colour in the settings .👍

      @@Budget-Cars-And-Bikes Cheap bikes yes sell well but have a lot cheaper residual values will be interesting to see what the GFV (Guaranteed Future value) is set at for these for those brave to take out a PCP with an inflated 9.9% APR * Most other top brands are 6.9 or there abouts. It definitely sounded lame for a 150Bhp inline 4 - listen to a bog standard Kawasaki Z900 or a say a Suzuki Katana 1000 sounds more defined than the Hornet.

      @RobertDodge I would think in 24 months, these could be close to £6k used with 15k miles the clocks, so it's a tough decision, sometimes I think things can be too cheap! But hopefully the market will follow suit and start copying the Honda lead, older engines with newer tech seems the way forward?

    New bikes are so ugly.just go's to show these woke millennium designers warped mind.they took a sports bike put a trials bike seat on it put a scaffold tube out the back to take a trailer board on. Took the exhaust pipe off a 2025 crv and fitted that on it then went back for the dash board.what happened to the big crome rear mudguards and slim 4into one pipes.and big comfy skinny seats that went half up the tank like the 70s/ 80s bikes

Gonna have to wait for a real review to see if this bikes any good, riding 10 under the speed limit cruising around is no way to review a performance 150hp naked sport bike.
