Van getting better all the time, always find with vans you don’t get the surround sound like a regular size car maybe these will help compensate the difference being an improvement from factory. Great videos as always Gary I think I watch more of yours than I do your dads channel now lol
Gary, you absolute star!!!! I hate the sound of the doot speakers on Viv-i-van and have wanted to change them for a while but did not know how. Its like it was meant to be. Cheers Mate. This was a brilliant video and much appreciated. Bessy regs- Kenny
Listen to my advice in terms of door speakers and their soundings in vans and more older cars... The problem isn't the oem speakers... not to confuse an aftermarked set will sound better in most cases but the real problem is the overal fabrication and their cheap isolation. If you want to extract real nice harman kardon of bmw 300watt look and feel out of those doors you need to start with door isolation... I drive a Trafic 2019 model and as most vans the oem manufactored audio wasn't quite impressive and these where the steps i made to make it sound like a real premium sound system... 1 changed speakers to a pair of JBL Gto 620 (was in fact a bit dissepointing) 2 replaced cables from speakers to head unit. ( volume went up but still not satisfied) 3 addet a class D amp that could deliver 2x 150rms (ok, we where getting there) 4 added acoustic isolation inside the door panels (Yess there was that deep bass sounding boom boom i was hoping for!) I ensure you, road noises get limmited, interios sounds much warmer. If i ever do this again i probably go take above steps in the opposite way as the last step was the most effective one! I kept all above on the original medianav headunit btw.... Just to share my experiance.
Yes I totally agree with what you say iv done many installations in my cars over the years this video was just how to show people how to change the speakers . Thanks for watching 👍
To be on the safe side I would have installed a grommet in the hole that you put the speaker cable through Gary. Flexible wires, movement and vibration combined with holes in sheet metal can lead to insulation chafing.
Thanks for the informational video! I wasn't too sure about doing it myself so I was considering taking it to an Audio Specialist. Saved me a few bobbies cheers 🍻
Nice to see you again Gary! ✌️To be honest, aftermarket speakers do sound a lot better and apparently do have more bass than the factory speakers! I done mine too nearly two years ago and they are Kicker speakers! I also have an aftermarket stereo the Sony Xplod and I’m just worried that I might blow the factory speakers because I do have a lot of bass! I already blown one factory speaker and I also have a sub in the boot as well so I’m not worried of blowing the aftermarket door speakers!😂
@@ProjectMan I got a 12” OE Audio sub and it’s loud as f**k!😂 the interior mirror was rattling and shaking including the dashcam as well!😂 that’s when you opened the boot and Martin’s reaction was priceless especially the number plate change that I watched and Martin won’t stop saying “Unbelievable!” Honestly, I can’t stop laughing when Martin rants but in a funny way!😂
I changed my standard speakers in my transit a few years back, dunno what i was expecting but it turned out to be a load of hassle for very little difference in sound to my ears. Did you hear a big difference?

Nice job Gary and easy to follow. Great video.

It's was rolled over on itself making it smooth.
How big of a adapter ring did you use?
Great job Gary 👍👍👍👍

Cheers David 👍🏻👍🏻

@@ProjectMan Cheers mate

I think a need a small sub 😂
@@ProjectMan can’t beat a sub can you!?😂
I had a kicker 15" L7 in the mondeo pannels were vibrating 😂

Priceless 😂😂
What stereo did you put in your van? Had a look at your videos and couldn't find it.
It's the pioneer sph-da120
@ProjectMan cheers man.👍
Where can I get those Clips ?? My current speakers have that adapter bit but looks like every new 4 inch speaker I’m looking to get has those 2 prongs
Ebay

Do you still have the factory radio still installed that maybe why I have a aftermarket pioneer stereo installed which has more output.
@@ProjectMan yeah, it’s too much hassle to change it
They are plug and play now days no cutting wires like the old days 😂
@@ProjectMan the dash board isn’t though 🤣🤣🤣
There are fitting kits mine was built in go on give it a go you know you want to 😂😂
There was no sound coming from the speaker on the left door. I changed it as in this video. Still no sound. What is the problem?
Possible broken speaker cable or your channel ain't working on the stereo .
@@ProjectMan I checked the cable completely but it still did not work. Could the problem be in the fuse box?
@AliYlmaz-dx6ee I wouldn't think fuse box have you checked the settings on the stereo the balance and fader.
@@ProjectMan When I move the fade setting to the left it still doesn't work, only the right one works
@AliYlmaz-dx6ee if your sure the speaker works and you have checked everything think else iv said sounds like a problem with the stereo
It would benefit a head unit upgrade for extra bass etc but i know vans these days (even cars) are awkward to swap out now
I done a video a few weeks ago about fitting a pioneer head unit in the van.
Excellent how to video Gary , your sound was not very clear on this one Gary is your mircs working ok
Yes nev sound was terrible maybe a loose connection 🤦♂️
greetings gary.hope your well fella,
Hello mate👍🏻
Hertz speakers are the way to go, or audison... Maybe even Alpine
These are fine for the van I'm not having a proper install 👍🏻
That pod would have fit if you had rotated it 180°
I did try but only 2 holes would line up the was locating pins and still didn't line up just what happens with after market stuff sometimes 👍🏻
Shouldn't put wiring inside door as you get rain water running in and wires will carode, thats why original one's were on the outside.
Iv worked on loads of cars that have wires in the doors from factory shouldn't be wet in there if you a good window rubbers.
