Yes, you should give Arcane a try, it is an excellent series with gorgeous visuals, top-tier voice acting, a great story, and music written for the scenes they appear in. Based on your reaction, I think you would enjoy it. Altogether it is around 12 hours, in two seasons, each nine episodes, and is best watched in 3-episode acts.
the arcane season 2 soundtrack just absolutely blows my mind. ive been listening to it on repeat ever since it dropped. watching the show just makes the songs hit waaay harder
Video game or not, animation or not, the story telling, visuals, character development, depth, diverse soundtrack, every single aspect of this work of art is astounding. DO NOT PASS THIS BY, DO NOT DISMISS THIS! It will be a loss of you do. Any scene you see without him in it, is from the show. It's just a beautiful sad coincidence that he experienced loss and the part of the show they gave him dealt with that, among other things. RIOT Games created League of Legends, which is a video game. ARCANE is a series based on the world the game is based on, Runeterra, and some of the playable characters in the game are in this show.
Yes absolutely ❤ i think what makes tyler a wonderful writer is the ability to make things with a multitude of meanings. He can create something for a specific medium like the show, while also having a personal meaning, and even give the fandom separate lore interpretation.
The song was written for the tv show, the show writers said what they wanted from the song and in what scene it would be in and then Twenty One Pilots made it. The music video is just a bunch of scenes from the episodes.
I read Tyler had to find personal relevance to connect with it, hence the tribute to his grandma at the end. Yes I realize it was for a show. I think that was implied but the title and the production.
Great call out on Tyler's influence on the MV. The director for The Line is Andrew Donoho, who has worked with TØP, mostly on lore videos, since Heavydirtysoul (2016 i think). I would be surprised if Tyler wasn't heavily involved. In an interview with Riot staff, they recognized that Tyler drew from his personal experience to write this song. I appreciate that they recognize the power that gives to the song, and allowed him to undoubtedly share his vision for the video and work with a director who is familiar with their work, and the meaning behind it.
I saw them live in Baltimore..almost 3 hours and 32 songs. They will be in NY and Boston in December. GO TO THE SHOW. It's a once in a lifetime experience.
Im a vet. Ken karson december wind brought me out of a dark place. That at least one person put the effort into shinning a light on so many vets who risk all for others and then hav our own gov to slam doors in ur face when u need help and never asked b4 until u really need it. Hopfully u can find it. Hes not a well know singer. He works construction. Music is a side gig. But hes really good. That song touch my soul my heart my life. It was my story and many others.
I really love this song, it feels so personal and intimate. The netflix show is really good, i highly recommend. The video shows parts of the Arcane series and the specific scenes chosen were very appropriate for the episode in the show where the song was placed. I will say though, that the video was directed by Andrew Donaho, who directed most of the lore videos with the boys, so he might have chosen scenes with little nods to the band.
Arcane is an animated series, very exciting and with an incredible story, in addition to the impeccable art, it's really worth seeing, the context of this song in the story is very deep and sad, (spoiler: it's as if this character, who is one of the main , was abandoning his humanity and who he is to do something he would never have agreed to do before)
Great commentary. Really love seeing your respect for Tyler's lyricism and vocals and just his and Josh's overall body of work. Impressive to say the least. And def don't repeat that Vegas blunder, man. Please. Thanks for sticking with these. Looking fwd to more TOP catch up from you:) |-/
I guess you saw theintro for this song, or at least part of it. That's where Tyler describes his inspiration, how he can't write a song if it doesn't mean something to him, and the experience of being in the room with his grandmother when she passed. You probably didn't know it was for The Line, but you accurately connected it to this song. I doesn't matter to me. It's still your genuine first reaction to this song. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
having not seen the show nor the game, just based off the MV and the words in the song I'm 99% sure the line is the Afterlife just depending on the full context maybe A place like Heaven where you have to be a certain way in able to get in but also It could be a Whole different context in the show so you can interoperate how you want
@@katielee7364 As someone that has seen the show, I think two interpretations coexist here. Since Tyler drew from his experience with his grandmother's passing to write the song, in that context this line is indeed probably about passing away. But in the context of the show (without spoilers), the song plays at a time where one of the main characters has just taken an extremely heavy decision : giving up his very humanity. He does it after a certain event that made him believe that this radical decision had to be taken and that there was no other way - hence the "sure there's nothing left to try" line (then again, if we take that in the context of the passing of Tyler's grandma, that one line might become a "sure it's not possible to keep me alive/try anything else medically speaking"). As symbolised by the girl who disappears at the start of the music video, once the character has crossed that line there is no turning back. So it is both about the grandmother's death and about that one character making a life-changing choice, and imo both interpretations are interchangeable. And that is true for almost all lyrics of the song, which is kinda cool. They make sense both in the context of the show and in the context of losing someone irl.

Definitly Watch the netflix show ASAP. Best show Netflix has put out tbh
just in case you werent aware, Netflix didnt make the show, they just funded it in exchange for exclusivity.
Netflix didnt even fund it. Riot paid for everything. Netflix is just the distributor Riot chose

Yes the loss of his Grandma was the inspiration for this song. He fears being separated from God.
He definitely wrote it with his grandma in mind.

the most perfect series coming from a game until now

You did well! Also, you NEED to react to more TØP lol. ❤

I didn't see anything, actually
I loved that! I know nothing about arcane💜💜💜
Both of you should drop whatever it is you are doing and watch the first 3 episodes right now.
Concert regret. I know. Migraine's are a great excuse to get out of anything! How about a trip to Mexico City? They play February 20th.
I don’t understand the line “Will they still let me over…” is that related to something in the show or the game?

@@katielee7364 as someone that has seen the show, I think this is the correct interpretation
Kind of like if someone has done bad, do they still deserve to be saved? Between the song and the show, this is my interpretation.
