do you guys hand tighten the oil filter? so hard to get off after I had my prado serviced at Nunawading
The procedure to tighten the oil filter as per instructions is to tighten by hand until it touches the fitting and then tighten another 3/4 turn with special tool, SST.
I hope all services are actually done like that by qualified mechanics or adequately supervised apprentices- too often it’s not the case unfortunately-- taking off correctly tightened oil filter seem always required tool in my experience
@@aron2199 we even have to use a SST when performing the first scheduled service and that is to remove an oil filter that has been tightened at the factory.
The SST, otherwise known as an oil filter removal tool, yes to remove - tighten should be able to by hand by your DIYer
