This is an excerpt from the song 'Trojan' from Magenta's new album 'We Are Legend'. Please check out the following. www.magentashop... magenta.bandca...
This is just brilliant, I think there are only three tracks on the album, two at about 11minutes each and an epic At over 20, it's going to be mega me thinks
I had real mix feelings about this album. On the one hand the playing is probably the band's best. The mixing for sure is. Clearly doing the Mike Oldfield type solo albums was a good study for improving Rob Reed's mixing techniques. Yet on the other had, and it pains me to say this, I found the songs far less interesting than on their previous works. Given how strong Club 27 was, this one didn't quite deliver.
Just do a little searching and you'll find plenty of great new prog music. Some that stays true to the 70s prog style of writing and sound, but others who are experimenting in new branches of progressive development. I love the jazziness of Swedish prog bands like Flower Kings (and all their side projects) and Kaipa, Karmakanic, Tangent. A good place to start searching is Jonas Reingold and branch out from there. An Endless Sporadic and Pineapple Thief are pretty kick-ass. If you love great drummers, Morgan Ågren has a lot of cool projects that are either prog or jazz. My latest discovery is Peter Jones and his Tiger Moth Tales. Fantastic fun prog with a good dose of that 70s prog feel.
Very Steve Hackett influence which is good by me , great track , love it
Fan since 2006, saw them in Montreal 2009. CD arrived today (looking forward to listening to it). "Only the Prog will survive!"
Sounds great! The best of classic prog meets modern, and of course everything Tina sings is lovely.
Love it... played this several times in a row and can't wait for my album copy to land on the mat.
Soundtrack to my last holidays. Great song.
Excellent band with great musicianship.
great Magenta; and... very pleased to see the wonderful christina in a good form... :)
Love it.
The begining is like Vangelis! and after great Magenta... France Calling
It reminded me of early Jean-Michel Jarre

The bit from about 2:15 sounds reminiscent of King Crimson on Starless and Bible Black album
muy interesante
The robot scenes are from The Adam series

I was afraid the real prog was dead !

This is part of a 26 minute track and all the lyrics are found in the CD artwork. Enjoy.
Hi Chris! Too bad i'm unable to buy it here in Brazil. Hoping to someone to post the lyrics anywhere :(
If you buy it from Bandcamp I'll provide the lyrics for you.
That riff is basically 'Loco' by Coal Chamber but in a major key
Not even basically, it's a 100% rip off.
King Crimson `The Great Deceiver `
muy buena banda, por favor busquen un cantante.....
Qué hay de malo con Christina Booth? Es una de las mejores voces del Prog que hay en este momento...
todos los premios que ha ganado como mejor cantante CRS Awards
I'm sure you're joking. Christina's voice is wonderful...
boring, great clip, u must have some strenght in the voice or music, both are just slow without any emotions
