Was watching a Teo 5 video and this poped out !! Great video as usual and it made me remeber why i skiped those , not only but can't understand why ZERO values feedabck on screens from knobs , it's amazing how they ignore all request for that while it is present in the Rev 2and others
The Take 5 is such a great synth. It’s my favorite analog poly, and the 2.0 firmware just takes it to the next level. I love to crank the reverb on it for ambient patches, and the new lo-fi effect is sublime.
1:00 all envelopes should be loopable. It's easy to think of them as being extra LFOs but having control of the attack and release under your fingers is something very exciting. My 1985 Clef Microsynth (I built from a kit) has that and it's great fun tweaking up into audio frequencies and back. I really must finish my refurb on that synth!
Wow, that's an amazing update! I like how this poly manages to keep the simplicity and offer flexibility at the same time. I almost regret choosing Pro 3 over Take 5, almost 🙂
You need a mention from your original channel again and from another tuber if possible. Your material is as complete and technical as loopop and bad gear. More people deserve to hear/see your material. It is always so solid and your technical skills are so solid.
Thanks for the support ❤️ The new channel has actually been growing steadily (all things considered). Still at the mercy of the YT Algo, but I can already tell the audience is more targeted this way. Just going to need some time.
Liked, subscribed, saved for later. Thanks. Now, a really dumb question: I notice when you're playing, the light on your hold button cycles on and off; it almost seems to reset when you change chords. That's not how mine works (it just cumulatively plays the last five notes struck). How the heck are you doing that?
Very keen on this synth. Went to play at a store earlier today. How would you go about unpacking some of the presets as a learning exercise? Some of the knobs you can't tell where they are set as you switch between patches. Thanks!
The Matrix would be the start to see where the modulations are happening. I'd then start adjusting parameters slowly to see how the patch gets effected and go from there. If you're brand new to the synth, or synthesis in general, I'd just start making patches from scratch first though. Much easier to understand the core concepts so you can hear the premade patches 'inner workings' later on.
As we would say back in my day (aka the Pliocene Epoch), "Far out!" I really want to get my hands on some Sequential stuff, even though I'm still just dipping into the Minifreak. I have to say that particularly early in the patch development, I caught a few, if brief, sonic echoes of "San Jacinto." So I'm going to go listen to that about 20 times first. Thanks as always!
Thanks! To your question: Honestly have no idea. I don't really see them expanding the Pro 3 and Take 5 line beyond what they did, but Dave has passed now and I'm sure leadership is making plans for future releases. I guess it's possible but *I think* you're more likely to see a prophet revision or a new synth altogether before seeing a Take 5 mk2.
Weird, I'd also 100% assume negative decay via modwheel source would be the proper assignment but glad to see you got to the intended result! Can those envelope loop points midi synch to tempo at all?
Couple things ... 1) You're right! It's been less than 2 years. I think the pandemic skewed my timeline and it felt longer. 2) I definitely didn't imply it was 'old', I said it was unexpected to get such major new features (especially from an analog poly) well after it's release date. Bonus 3) Thanks for watching ❤️
Thanks for watching!

Agreed! 2.0 was an excellent addition.
This is an amazing tutorial thank you! I love the Take 5 and the 2.0 firmware is such a gift! 😍
Thanks for watching!
Take 5 is like a Minilogue all grown up.
Thanks for the video! The Lo-fi effect sounds good! Reminds me of Boards of Canada style music.
I really like this synth.. I have an OB6 as well... Like what you did here.
Thanks this is super useful. Really showcases the capabilities.
Great demo, very interesting to see how you approach sound creation!
Thanks Marc!

This sounds pretty badass
It's a great synth. Just solid.
ok, now I want this synth!
Great video, you should do a review on the OB- TEO, I would love to hear your feedback and differences between the the Take 5 and TEO.
I have a Polybrute that also has envelope looping but I prefer the raw oscillator sound of the take 5 over the polybrute

Always blaming the algo

Thanks! The answer to your question is the sustain pedal I had plugged in. So my foot was doing the 'hold' button.
You, sir, are a madman. I suppose I’ll be selling the Rev2…

Thanks for watching! ❤️🙏
I'd really love to get a Prophet 6 or OB6 desktop, but I i dont know if I'll ever justify the $. Maybe I should just get a Take 5 to satisfy that itch
Outstanding video!
Thank you Tefty.
Quick question, do you feel that Sequential might be releasing a new “Take 5” type of synth release?
Thanks! To your question: Honestly have no idea. Makes perfect sense and thank you so much for your reply Tefty.

Is this recent firmware upgrade present on all brand new Take 5 units, or are there still a few that require it?
No one could possibly answer that. Depends on when the unit left the factory.
❤ it
❤️❤️❤️
Weird, I installed 2.0 but there is no new presets, only old ones...(((
You have to download those too! Search for "DOWNLOAD TAKE 5 SOUND BANKS".
It's only been out a bit over a year and a half (released Aug 21). Feels slightly odd to talk about it like it's old

Thanks for posting. Great stuff.
Looping envelope, now that’s never been done before…oh wait…
Why is this one so cheap compared to other synth, its amazing
I do not need a Take 5!
