Van Gerwen Sets Darts World Record For Most Points Scored In A Minute

- Three-time former PDC darts world champion Michael van Gerwen recently set a new world record for the most points scored in one minute.
'Mighty Mike' racked up 644 points in 60 seconds and broke the former record - held by his fellow Dutchman Leon Walraven - by 36 points.
Van Gerwen starts his hunt for a fourth world title on Saturday when he faces either Ryan Murray or Lourence Ilagan in the round of 32 at London's Alexandra Palace.

Hard to believe this is a record. He wasn’t even in a hurry, and there were some stray darts too
Yeah, PDC should invite more players to try this and bring it to another level.
I do believe they can't actually hurry, because it would destroy their flow. Without the strays and moving faster towards the board and away from it, this might go to 1k fast.

Remember when he almost hit back to back 9 darters against Wade. That was 990 in 18 darts
just what i was thinking, there might have been sequences where he threw 180s and 140s for minutes.. guess you could push that record pretty high around 800-1000 pts if you were really concentrating on doing so

There were more 1 or T1 hits, then 180s or 140s. Another professional player can easily beat, if he has a fast throw.
If he just hurried up a bit, he could've thrown maybe twice the amount of darts 😁

In 2012, MVG had ever throw 18 darts with 990 scores against Wade in Semifinal.. If he could score that again in one minutes then the record would be phenomenal, but Ricky could throw 36 darts in one minutes, he would be the best in this record I think 😀

I did this over a year ago and got 927 in a minute and I have video evidence, but in fairness I was running back and forth to the board and he took his time
