I mean, this pedal with all these features is simply the new gold standard for analog death style pedal format preamps. Handmade in usa, small footprint and with all the necessary parameters to make it a true omega. It's just killer.
Thanks for the review. Just got mine. Brillant pedal. I had an Ampeg SS amp and this has the mojo, no vintage price/weight and is imo more tonally flexible that even the OG amp I fondly remembered. I chose it over the SNK for this reason as the SNK is also an outstanding choice. Running front end into Orange Dark Terror into 4x12....Yeah. Get it kids.
It sounds so good even with UA-cam compression! It's the upgrade the original Ampeg needed. If you aren't an amp collector this is the best way to get that Ampeg tone. I think this heavy earth and Master effects have the best Extreme metal preamps in the Americas rn. In Europe Lichtlaerm audio hands down wins with the Gehenna V2.
Good video, comparisons were really well done too. Nothing wrong with the V1 but those sure are some improvements on the V2. Kinda hope a OMG V2 comes and goes this route. Be interested to see a top 5 or so of your fav pre-amp and distortions these days. 🤘🏼
Man I feel like I just got the 1st one! I hate when companies do this, like with master effects they just put out the EQFH and before you could blink here comes the EQFH pro haha feels like being punished. They should do a discount for the people that supported them from the get go
which pedal would be better for hitting those the crushing old school brutal death metal tones like dying fetus’s early stuff? flesh rot v2 or master effects misanthrope??
Fleshrot v2 is way better as a preamp and the misanthrope is better as a distortion pedal. I'm doing a comparison video soon that includes those two pedals and some more soon.
Hey man that pedal sounds incredible ..Anyway was just going to order the 6505 ll spending all this money on these amps and really I think the pedals are just as good I do have a bunch of preamp pedals thought about getting the V1 Kraken but this one here might be even better let me know what you think cuz I believe you tried that one also
v2 kraken is a distortion, isnt great as a preamp, sick into a clean channel though. v1 kraken is tight and modern, this is more old school 90's with some modern updates. Both sick, just different.
@@MetalHeadProductions well I have the power stage 170 for my fly rig didn't want to spring for the PA 50 but thinking about getting the Black Star amped one
I would get the FRv2 over the V1 Kraken or spend the extra bucks to get the tube preamp Kraken used. Like the OP said, the V1 Kraken pedal needs to run into a clean channel of an amp. Not really worth $250 if you ask me.

That riff at 5:30… 🔥 killer demo track once again, Steven.
First time i activate bell since youtube exist.
This one little fleshrot pedal thing is the best thing to happen to the rig in decades. Fuckin A

I take UA-cam compression into account and aim for the correct levels so UA-cam doesn't smash the music.
Sounds really good. I regret selling my VH 140C I had back in the 90s but I think this pedal will help alleviate that regret.
Thanks for this. The V2 is a really awesome pedaL and i love the new finish and it is more elaborate. The Green goo skuLL was really cooL on V1.

For sure, but soon, now that I have this, there will be a vh140c pedal shootout on the channel.

Yeah that can be frustrating for sure.
Reach out and I’d be happy to offer upgrade discounts.

Version 2 aounded more like the valvestate 8100
Oh definitely not. The valvestate is way more dry and midrange focused than this for sure.
