What horrible conditions to fish in so a great result Jon. This why I sing the praise of bread, probably one the cheapest but best baits going! Tight Lines
Like your videos and your natural presentation. Glad to see your like us mere pleasure anglers and get muck up your pole, pick the wrong peg and get the wrong bread. Cheers Jon. Andy James
Love my punch fishing, I put a small cable tie up the pole to hook the line and shots on then twist the pole when you have found the spot you are fishing to.Keeps the punch on the hook without dragging not through the rubbish. Nice video again John thank you.
That rubbish was possibly churned up by that narrow boat doing several 3 point turns. As we know the Oxford canal is only a couple of foot deep. The forward/reverse churning of the engine would drag up all sorts of crap. Ps Katie is an absolute Popit 😊
Nice one jon just down the road from the goldfish bowl college Farm nellsbridge haven't fished the Oxford Canal for a long time well done thanks for the upload shame about the weather
if i had recce'd the day before...id have been tempted to pre bait with a pint of old groundbaits... it might hold fish in the peg till next day perhaps...? nice vid... but the cadence feller 'alan barnes' is the feller to watch for breadpunch on canals..... its very subtle the technique... watching you and various other vids i realise the few times i have fished a canal ive used too much bait... admire your dedication.... great haul for 60 mins...
enjoyed watching your fishing session Jon I fish with bread in Banbury for the roach and once you start catching they really come on the old bread I use like yourself 12mm main line with a 0.5g float with the bulk about 2cm apart with a guru f1 6 inch hook link of 11mm and a 6 or 8mm bread punch pressed and doubled up to a size 18 hook . I hope you are making some more videos on the oxford canal like to watch them cheers
If you ever come fishing on the Norfolk broads in the summer mate bring some valium if one boat stresses you out. On the plus side there's time the skimmers feed better when the boats are almost endless. Dutch fish aren't to bothered either. Only them wimpy northern fish are scared of boats lol yet another great vid mate keep up the good work
We used to catch a lot of baby zander on the Coventry Canal. Always caught them on worm whenever I fished the Gloucester Canal too, but other waters we never catch them on maggots or worms, despite there being plenty of zander there.
@@JonArthur i had 35 lovely roach on punch then it went dead put another ball in 2 roach the biggest of the day , thinking here we go and next 5 fish 6oz zanders.
Hi Jon, been following you along the Oxford Canal and doing reckie’s to find the places you have shown. Joined BDAA so got me ticket ya’. I visited Aynho today October /4th /21 and the number of boats was horrendous, yes I know no boats no canal, is it just pot luck or do you think the going to fish gets easier as the winter sets in? Great videos, and your enthusiasm is outstanding! Thank You. looking forward to your next outing, just one request, if like me you enjoy fishing the whip could you do one or two videos using one? Thanks Bob south Oxford.
A bit of whip fishing sounds good, but I'd never use them on the canal any more. Too many bonus perch and skimmers for the fine tackle I'd use. On the river they're still good however.
What happened to that cutie lill fella when you finally got fishing Jon? 😨 ... surely not in the keepnet & bait bag holder, with a bag of Haribos to keep him quiet?? 😊
Jon makes some of the best fishing videos out there dont stop Jon I always enjoy watching them
Tough conditions, but you came through, I hope to get some canal Roach later, thanks for the work, and share.
Many thanks Clive

A bit of old pole elastic is kinder to the pole than a cable tie
@@JonArthur Thank you will try that next time, keep the tuition coming!!
Great that was Jon , I like to here your thoughts as you are fishing .
Inspired me to have few early morning canal bread fishing mate

That brought back some happy memories Jon, love a bit of canal punch fishing.

I'm not a pre-baiting fan, unless I was trying to get a shoal of bream in the area. No point filling the roach up before I arrive!

Hard to tell at that age but it was actually my daughter, bless her, and she was tucked up at home with mummy! 😊
Hi my name is Adrian and I want to ask if you could come over to wolverhampton to fish
Nice video. What pole did you use?
She’s saying , dad ru really going in this weather?
