Rene Quack they’re touring very soon. Best support is to see them and buy their merch if you’re close enough to attend. I’ll be at the Cambridge MA show!
I feel like sungazer will be much bigger in a couple of years, mostly because of adam's youtube channel and how cool it is. it'll probably be like, an influence on contemporary music, maybe, i think it will be
I think this kind of music will not become massive anytime soon. I don't think it ticks the box of "is it nice to listen to" for enough people that you'll hear things like this on the radio for as long as radio is still an actual thing. That said, it's awesome and I hope they gain more recognition within the circles that will appreciate this music. I feel like it's coming, though, but people will need a little coaxing.
That second song is solid af. I would love to hear someone. like Nai Palm (from hiatus coyote), put vocals over it. I don't mean to say that the song lacks a singer but more that I personally just love the unconventional time signature combined with the game-like sounds, and I think it would make a great canvas for some story.
I still don’t quite understand what vaporwave is, how I personally define it, but I’ve been a listening to some from Vapor Memory including the Macintosh Plus and such. This is definitely prog though, which I can much more intricately define.
now, if only more people had this kinda spirit. instead of dissing something they dislike, instead acknowledging the work behind it and then moving on. we need more of this.
I love the fact that is album is modern: 1) it is only 17 minutes long, this is a mirror of our generation and attention span, In the past we had a lot of double albums and the average albums' length was 35 /50 minutes 2) They put a lot of data, melodies and different rhythms in the smallest amount of time possible. Another reflection of the youtube generation 3) The retrofuturistic and 8 bit vibe. So, this is cool and sounds fresh
@@mutantfreak48 agreed. We used to call them Ep, I've never heard "full 17 minutes album". During the CD era a lot of bands had weak songs called fillers in order to reach the right amount of time. My bloody valentine and a lot of other groups used EP's, they never used "full album" for a a 17 minutes product. This content is called "Sungazeer Vol 2 - Full album (2019)"
idk man the reason why the album is short i think is because that's just how it was written, it's not a compression of some other batch of musical ideas
My bass player just sent me this to learn for tomorrow’s jam... Yeah pretty sure it’ll take me about a year to learn even one of these songs on drums. Ha. Great stuff
The first two songs feel like they're 10 min long and the third seems like 1 min. Haha idk why but I REALLY ENJOY HOW THE SONGS ARE A LITTLE LONGER ON THIS ALBUM COMPARED TO THE LAST. I REALLY LOVE THIS ALBUM
I'm not. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love this music and wish it was more popular but it's a very challenging record that just isn't going to be most people's taste.
Siento influencias del chip tune y vaporwave hasta del mathrock por alguna rara razón pero drunk es muy acid como las canciones de sweet valley y las demás son más una oda a juegos como castlevania sonic Alien soldier nose todo esta mezclado con todo * w *
some of the songs don't punch as well as others and i feel the album is kinda short but it's such a weird trippy experience and for that it deserves props

I've been listening to Dream Theater for so long I forgot that 17 minutes isn't the length of a single song usually. (Also, really into this)

for someone as into high concept music theory ideas as adam is, i’d like to hear him write a 4/4 radio friendly song.

Lol no thx that would be boring
Nope. The friendly radio songs already exist by their own. This kind of inovative complex soulful music is what we need.
