I missed it live too. Hey mate, I want to tell you something. In June of this year I was at rock bottom with PTSD. All hope was lost. I lost 30 pounds and was already thin. Had it not been for family and friends that love me, I would have left this world. You should know that your videos were one of the very few things I was looking forward to. Your positive and optimistic approach to your work was therapeutic beyond what you could imagine. I would wait eagerly for new videos from you revealing beauty from ugly rocks. A process that mirrored my own recovery. 5 months later and I'm putting the weight back on, seeing the beauty in the world, actually enjoying my life, a lot! Yours wasn't the only therapy. Modern medicine and a great Dr sure helped too. But for the length of your videos, I was able to escape my irrational catastrophizing and hopelessness. I owe you so much buddy! From the bottom of my heart, thankyou for being the person you are! Thank your coworker for me too! I'm back to living and loving again! God Bless you both!
Keep up the fight, David. Great work. Don Bradman once said “He who kicks the dirt, loses ground.” Great to hear you have picked up your sword and shield again. Don’t let em go again. 👍🙏🇦🇺
Hey I’m glad your here., yes these videos are very therapeutic for me as well. This world is a tough rock to live on sometimes., I wish we could scrub off the nasty stuff too.🤗 What a gem the world could be.
All these years doing glitter nails, creating glitter stones with resin, and I didn´t know that I always tried to get the look of a Opal, all this time! It is, for SURE, the most beautiful stone in the world! :D 💜
Here it is, 2am and I’m still watching you! You cut opals, showed your collection (1 &2), gone down a mine and back to seeing you cut opals again! What a night! Will be having opal dreams! Hope all of you do too.
G’day Justin, I reckon watching you cut and polish Opal’s is so relaxing and cathartic mate. Your UA-cam Channel is definitely entertaining and easily, one of my favs. This is probably too much information, but I’ve literally sat on the shitter for a couple hours, binge watching your channel. Cheers mate!
I remember vaguely waaaay back in the day that opals were supposed to be unlucky to wear,🤷♀️ The only thing unlucky about them is .. we couldn’t afford to buy them..they are so so beautiful I love just watching you make them appear...magic...
Never get tired of watching you bringing out the beauty in those stones. No need for dad jokes or silly dad dances 😜. Always want black opal after seeing a watch made with it. But since i have been watching you cut i have fallen inlove with the colours in the crystal opal.
Best darn show down under. Been watching ever sence i found your show. thank you for showing us and teaching us how to look for and how to work on opals. One day i will have to buy a rough opal from you. And give it a whirlwind of a try to shape that opal. And hopefully bring out the beauty of that Stone. Thank you Justin! For great entertainment.
I love the first Opal and the surprise Green one ! Thank you for sharing this with me ! Take care , stay safe and healthy there in Australia ! Doing well here in Kansas .
Missed the live but always enjoy the replays! How is the script pattern ring coming?! Please announce the reveal a few times in advance so we don't miss the live on it! Eagerly awaiting! Thanks!
I missed the live feed, bugger, never mind watched the video, some great stones as always. I'll try for to catch your next one. Keep Safe & Keep Rockin
I wanted to say that my heritage is also German on my father's side,we came from "Parchim" Germany north of Berlin, I've googled it and it looks absolutely beautiful, cheers Justin fun show
So it starts with wow and ended with BREATH TAKING! That second to the final one was like the bottom of the ocean with light play breaking through the sea...
Good morning Australia ! 🙆 Well, actually it's midday in chilling Norway. (Awaiting blizzards this weekend). 😨 Never mind. We're used to it.... 😉 GREAT SHOW ! Love the blue square ! Bet it looks like the australian night sky.... ✨ Stay well and safe. 💖 And keep dancing ! 👍 Life is NOT meant to be "strictly ballroom" !! 😆 💎💎💎💎💎💎
I enjoyed the emoji video more like it would be a plus. Being able to see other creative ways to cut and use the opal is fun to watch its given me the itch to get some and and play around

Ashame I missed it live but at least I get to watch it... I miss ozzy.. and one day soon when we can ill bring my young family ova to see it all... love ya work Justin. Cheers mate.
All that Comedic talent and you cut Opal for a living!! Sad I missed the live stream 😢. Pretty stones. I am saving my pennies so I can buy a ring from you!! 💙💜💚 stay safe and keep on keeping on!!
Are you hearing me correctly? You know I'm a dad with the lamest jokes on the planet haha I await your email letting me know you are ready for the real opal fever :-p
If you're willing to teach people your craft I would gladly save my pennies and fly out to you to learn. Your videos are inspiring, much love from Washington state
Damn I hate missing the live shows, but thank you for keeping it online! Your 3rd stone looks an awful lot like the good quality Welo opals (alongside a bunch of crap opals) I bought recently so I am going to be watching your process with that stone very closely. I know hydrophane opal dosen't match up in hardness or long life compared to Lightning Ridge opal, but it was a good cheap starter package of 106ct worth of low grade practice roughs. I hope you have more for sale soon, i missed out on the last lot. :p Thanks again for being an inspiration, Justin!
May I ask about how often you do live streams? This was my first, and being a newbie I found it exciting the interactive reactions were so genuine. I’m on eastern standard time USA, along with some fellow Americans. Boy do we need a great hobby and interest to distract from the unmentionable negatives here. If there’s a schedule or known time I’d like to hook up some of my friends. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and talents. It was a blast to buy y’all a cup of coffee, and watching after live stream is great, but no coffee donations, mehhh.
Nice video i can't believe I missed it but again I learned something now about the last opal u cut that doesn't change color or value again great video thank you so much u r great at what u do 😎
Chloe Brown, you ask in chat about the rumors about bad luck re: Opals... I would like to give my opinion, hope y’all don’t mind. For one, centuries back people of wealth were very very superstitious, and a king gave a opal ring to his daughter and she died, and he gave it to his wife and she died, and he wore it himself and he also died. The COD was probably the Black Plague, but superstitious people none the less would rather blame something rather than the situation at hand. And also Another theory about why it's bad luck to wear opals if they're not your birthstone is a simple one; it was a rumor spread by diamond traders. When opals began gaining popularity in the 19th and 20th centuries, diamond merchants got nervous about losing business. The jealous traders started spreading rumors that opals were bad luck to prevent people from buying them. That’s some dirty dealing from those diamond dealers for sure. Shame on them, Queen Victoria had quite a love of Opals and collected some beautiful opal jewelry. Superstitious she clearly wasn’t. So cheers to the opalholics. Rahhhhhhhhhhh!
Diamonds are boring. They look almost all the same. And they can be copied by cheap stuff..... (The exeption being lovely pink australian diamonds. I soooo want one of those for my collection !!!) 😍
Hi Justin, just watching you, when you have opals of weird shapes, have you ever thought about using them say on finger boards on guitars where just the dots of abalone are to tell which fret your on. You could use all your opals that would not be useful in jewellery. Bob
Justin , in crustal opal is the clear crrrystal part valuable or is it just the colour in the crystal that is valuable? if i have a piece that has colour only in the center should i grind down all the excess clear opal area the perimeter of the stone?
I'm two late for this live so I'm going to save this and watch the one that I saved yesterday afternoon. I have a long day today later today 😁. It's my bedtime
I very much enjoyed the emoji Opal, it looks really good and a nice size too, also, speaking of German, I worked at the American BMW factory for a while, and a couple of the German men asked if I could speak German, I said nine, I must have had the accent and inflection just right because they gave me the strangest look.
Watching this channel has given me major Opal fever and while there is no way I could possibly afford any of these gems currently (one stone is about 6 weeks salary for me) my dream is to one day be able to afford and purchase an opal from Black Opal Direct to set in a ring.
