Royal Belfast: The oldest golf club on the island of Ireland

- Today’s video takes us to Royal Belfast Golf Club, the oldest golf club in Northern Ireland! Stephen and I team up against Alexandra and Gavin for a friendly match on this legendary course. The greens were quick and the bunkers were very creative on this parkland track. The match was another story! Alex and Gavin really gave us a run for our money. Royal Belfast is without a doubt a world class golf course. It was a blast to play and I can’t wait to come back.

Beautiful course and awesome choice of music once again! Keep up the great work Erik.
Hidden gems are a vibe. Add it to the list.
Loads of really good parkland courses close to Royal Belfast - Shandon Park GC (my home course), Belvoir GC, Holywood GC (McIlroys home course), Knock GC. Stay in Belfast city centre and all these courses are about 20mins max away, you could play them all for less than £150 in green fees
Another great video. Love the course, and it’s friendliness and looking forward to more like this, please.
I’m confused...why is it that I’m not going to shoot 74?
🤔😉😀
I believe it's called "negging" - a tactic commonly used by insecure middle school aged boys
Probably because he was hoping you would go sub 70🤭
Haha
is this why you guys broke up?
My son took me here for a round in June. 👍 Radar took great care of us!😎
i play out of massereene golf club and its great seeing you play a course so close to here. royal belfast is also an amazing course !
I wish you could come to narin and portnoo links in donegal Ireland but gil hanse is renovating it right now so come back in the summer😂🇮🇪🍀
Shots like 5:34 are what make these videos so good
Awesome!! Visited Ireland last September and was fortunate to play this beautiful course! The views were spectacular. Belfast is a beautiful city! I was able to play the third oldest course in Ireland as well, the Royal Dublin. Definitely recommend playing that course as well if you make it south to Dublin. Love your content EAL. Cheers!
Royal is older than both of these courses
Curragh
Great vibes my dude
That is a stanky leg of a golf swing at 3:58
EAL: I have had 2 shanks on this hole but I'm working on it.
EAL has a superb mindset on how he views golf. You can see he just feels exhilirated to be out there. He oozes golf, it comes out of his pores. He makes you want to get off your ass and start playing.
The course looks immaculate mate.
Pretty sure Royal Curragh is actually the oldest course/club on the island of Ireland, dating to the 1850s as far as I know
I don’t know if the current course is as old as that but the Curragh definitely pre-dates Royal Belfast by some distance as a location that golf was played in Ireland.
Huge respect for acknowledging us as an island!
Man happy to hear it landed well!
@@RandomGolfClubFilms curragh is oldest club dude
So are you and o'Laughlin dating? I hope so, she's a cool chick bro.... cheers eal

Great video Erik, What brand are the white shoes?
Sizzlers
@barthezzo did you find out?
Hey Erik. When will you play torrey pines south? I just moved here and have been itching to play.
Best word used in this was "individuated" @2:05. Had to check to make sure it is a real word, it is. Me not so smart.
Its hard to go wrong on a Royal course
On Sunday, I heard someone on my random executive golf course say "Ace cam is live" from the previous tee box. It must have inspired me since I put it 6 feet from the hole from my tee box.
It's a mindset!
Shouts to Thomas Reiten for the classic intro music. Shades of the bethpage intro
Any eps on your Aussie trip? 🤩
alex is the definition of wifie material
Great editing
Erik in your opinion other than your job what is the best job in the golf industry and how can someone get started in it
If you like being outside, greenskeeper would be great. Or teaching juniors at a local muni. really depends on what you like to do. Tour guide?
sick vid bro
10,11,12 👌🏼
great video. hope you're not done doing travel course vlogs w stu and colt
Go to Royal north Devon gc- the oldest golf course in England
L H we’d be happy to host Erik
Sam Mead yeah it’s a great course, I’ve played a few times- live in Exeter
Surely this course has been tampered with over the years? It looks horrifically modern...
whats that last song at the end? never posts up what songs they are and i have to go hunting
Not the oldest...incorrect. Curragh in kildare is
Royal Curragh is the oldest Erik
Why so washed out in non drone shots?
Its the filter they use for almost everything.
David Baral it bleaches everything why would they do that
I am not their editor but you could ask them if you want? Thomas Reiten is the guy who crushes it on a weekly basis.
I know it's not really your style. But I'd love to see just an 18 hole vlog where you keep score.
So sort of a casual version of break 90? I’m into that.
@@RandomGolfClubFilms Wow I wasn't expecting a response. I'm a super huge fan. But yeah, you get the opportunity to play so many courses that most of us could only ever dream about playing. It would just be cool to see every shot from one of those rounds. On another note, I live in a place called Prince Edward Island, Canada. We're a province of 150k people and we have 30 golf courses here. I believe it may be the highest per capita in the world. If you ever make it here, it'd be amazing to play a round with the coolest man in golf!

whatever, shes a 10
This whole video seems like nonsense
Another shorty... I get the sense that golf has burned you out in 2019
Get drones off golf courses
More shots, less talk. Swings are more interesting than what any of you has to say.
