Congratulations! Your scar is healing amazingly well. You must have had a particularly good surgeon. I wish I could say the same; my surgeon was a real dufuss. I'm over 6 months post amputation after an accident (right BKA) and I still have pain (not intolerable but there) the scar had dog ears and it sepatated over a 2 inch spot due to a hematoma. This required a second intervention to drain the blood out, suture the bleeder, resuture the skin where it had separated. Obviously, this was done by a second surgeon since the first one didn't think there was anything wrong! My residual limb feels weird, like somewhat numb, hard to describe because I feel touch, hot, cold, and any other sensation, so one can't call it numb. Anyhow, sorry about my ranting and congratulations again. Keep your videos going, you are a welcome source of inspiration for me!
I'm three months post BKA surgery, and I've been playing around with Rezzie. The end that used to be so bell-shaped is now less massive and my prothesis is fitting so well. My gait is getting beautiful, after initially trying to go fast but moving all wrong. Did you name your stub, stump, nub? I actually JUST came up with Rezzie. I was calling it Snoopy, cuz with the white sock and the shape in profile, add a pompom black nose and droopy black felt ears.... The clinician at my Hanger clinic is a BKA too, and she has such a clever name for how it all goes together... Mr. Nubb and Sally Socket Brilliant!
Nerve mapping is cool. I've noticed that what feels like the center of my scalp (left-to-right) is not actually on center. This leads to some internal conflict when trying to style a center part. :D
Thanks for the update your stump looks so small now I know you have addressed this before. Is it harder to walk now verses the longer fladdy stump you had before your revision? ty for keeping us updated! stay safe always!
Interesting experiment... That being said, do you feel the same sensations as you describe when someone else runs his finger over your amputation scars? Could this possibly lead to sensations of an erotic nature? In reality, the skin of the upper thigh is not entirely an erogenous zone. But can the constitution of a stump at the end of a residual limb create, for a woman or a man, an additional erogenous zone?
While I don't have an amputated limb like you, I have an old surgical scar that feels very similar to how you describe. I find that weather/barometric pressure changes cause it to feel many different ways (burning, stinging, raw sunburn feeling, etc). Does yours feel different when the weather/barometric pressure changes?
Wow!! So interesting!! Thanks for explaining. I never thought it would feel like that. It sounds like you are quite good at accepting the sensation? Or is this something that took you time to get used to?
When you were talking about the brain map for the front and the brain map for the back...if a doctor took a muscle from the back and put over the front to make a flap...do you feel that muscle that was in the back even though it is on the front?
I have had a BK stump for 12 years. The end of it feels like the end of it ought to. No sudden change across the scar. I don't think I could describe it to someone who hasn't experienced it.
I am a hip inarticulate amputee it feels like my whole leg is there sometimes scared feeling at times when you feel that doctor called it phantom pains
I just became an Ak amp this morning. I’m not dealing with phantom pain just yet. However I have phantom sensations. I can still feel the leg and it feels like my foot is falling asleep. Is this forever or does it go away? Thank you!!
hi i right below knew ampuute i amaze you have nice device that you used. i hope someday i have one like you so many device for your every activity by the way im from phillipines. i hope you can donate some parts of your device not in used. or leftover.
I am an RBK for about seven years. My stump is about 8-9 long, measured from the top of my knee and maybe 4-5 inches from the underside of my knee. You compared feeling/squeezing it to feeling/squeezing a girl’s boobs, or getting to second base as I recall. This is true for me. There is a solid-ish lump that is about half the volume of the whole stump and depending on where you squeeze, this mass sort of moves around. Of course, the boobs would have to be about of a certain size. Other unusual feelings are that I can “feel” which part (heel, toe, etc.) of my prosthetic foot is touching the floor. Also, I am very lucky that I have almost no phantom pain. But when I do get that electric shock of pain, I can “wiggle my toes and ankle” of the foot that isn’t there and the pain will stop.
Remember when I said I'm expecting a toe amputation awhile ago and got so excited about it? Well, turns out with the antibiotics, I'm recovering from the infection so amputation is off the table for now. But now, I've got a floppy boneless toe and it feels weird. I'd probably get a better idea of your description if my toe got the chop.

I love these cool "here's how this is/works" with your videos. Thanks for sharing and explaining!
Thanks for sharing this! You are describing very well the tinteling caused by the scar. Very good explanation. Thanks for your open words!

All of this applies to hip disarticulations as well. Your videos help because they teach me to know what to expect.
Very interesting description and many thanks to you.
I love how frank you are about things. "To be honest, it's kinda like squishing a boob with a bone in it" lololololol

Brilliant!
I love your videos. I’m having an above the knee amputation on March 6th
I got amputation above the knee and I can go anywhere I want
I'm strong like you 🥰
Great dscription! My arm stumps feels very similar. Stay Blessed.
I’ve always wondered about that “abrupt” transition. 🤯

It’s easier!
My mrs cheered when you said it felt like a boob, she’s said that about my stump years ago, now my kids and grandkids get creeped out lol
Haha a question I’ve often been asked 😳
I chose to have an AKA, Im not suited to a prosthetic so have crutches and a wheelchair, my scar is barely visible and ive no regrets.
How is your ecovery coming and how do you like the revision, now that you've had it for a few weeks? We need a new update!!! Please...
Ich bin auch amputiert. Beidseitig.. habe es mir lange gewünscht.

Both short femoral stumps of one of my close boyfriends are very sensitive and playing with them usually leads to "sensations of an erotic nature" ...
BLACK just became my favorite color

It's been 1year 2months I had to get my right leg cut off . Thank you for your video
Would you ever consider osseointegration?

A question I always an answer to.....many many more....hopefully you'll someday answer them
🤔. Always wondered about that “abrupt” transition 😉
My girl has some good feelings in the middle lol
