On terms of bosses (MY OPINION): Dragonlord: Seeing as how I didn't play the first game, I don't exactly know HOW tough he was. But the fact that SLIMES could KILL YOU proved that the first game was hard. The music is classy af though. Malroth: Again, I didn't play II. However, I have a friend who has. Watching him fight the final boss was nerve-wracking for the both of us. I could tell that it was difficult. The theme is okay on my part. Zoma: This battle is EVERYTHING a game should have: buildup, tension, a meaningful ending and a sense of satisfaction once done. Zoma is a pain in the ass, regardless of the game he appears in. Plus, *that damn music.* Psaro: I don't think I've ever felt bad for the main antagonist of any game as much as I did for Psaro. His story is sad, in all honesty. When you find out the truth, you just can't help but feel for him. Incarnation of Evil fits him well. Nimzo: *S A T A N....* I cannot STAND Nimzo for the life of me. Everything he does to the player is horrifying, even if he had pawns to do the work for him. Taking him down was probably the most satisfying thing I've done in any DQ game. His theme represents him so damn well, too. It's eerie and really unsettling, even if the pitch is higher near the end. Mortamor: OK THEN. Mortamor was a bit of a pain for most people, but he was actually really easy for me. Taking out the hands is a chore, sure. But once they're gone, you've got the main focus all to yourself. Demon Combat literally embodies what it sounds like: a truly insane person fighting at their full power, stopping at *nothing* to get their way. Orgodemir: VII was a mistake on my part. The game is STUPIDLY long and gets boring/tedious at around the 15-20 hour mark. However....if there's one thing that I do like about VII (aside from Maribel's character development) it's the main antagonist. Orgodemir is nuts; he is literally hellbent on taking down The Almighty himself to take his place as the ruler of Heaven, Earth and Hell. You fight him in the past. You think you're done with everything. Nope. He's risen and has taken shelter in your present day world. The other thing I like about VII is that (as GC said) you have *TANGIBLE EVIDENCE* of your heroism. So yes, the game may not seem like it fits Arus's adventures in the present day and the past. Orgodemir may have popped up in the final arc with no relevance prior to that point. But you, a kid that lived on the only island in the world managed to do something extraordinary. Orgodemir wants to get rid of that, so Arus/Auster takes him on and saves the world. Orgo Demila is another case similar to that of Demon Combat: IT FITS. Orgodemir's personality is placed into the song, giving an awfully eerie feel of "I WILL SUCCEED, and I don't care WHO I HURT in the process." Rhapthorne: I'll give it to you straight: Great Battle in the Vast Sky is *MY FAVOURITE* boss theme of all-time. The emotion, the story of VIII, from meeting Yangus to your personal struggles: EVERYTHING is thrown into this goddamn *masterpiece*. The fight against Rhapthorne truly feels like a final one. It's not easy at ALL and is oh so rewarding when you do beat him. I listen to this song whenever I'm drawing, doing homework or when I'm doing other things in my free time. Hell, I even turn OFF music from other video games JUST to play this. Corvus: IX was my first Dragon Quest game. It holds a ton of memories and I truly adore every aspect this game had to offer. The story is so touching, too. Corvus was once an angel like you. He was betrayed by a human (you befriend multiple of them) and went insane afterwards, focused on bringing an absolute end to the world due to this incident. He lost ALL of his powers as a Celestrian to gain newer, darker power. You lose ALL of your Celestrian powers to SAVE TWO RACES. When he realizes that Barbarus wasn't enough, he takes matters into his own hands. It is *BY FAR* the BEST final boss fight I've had in any game. It's you versus a fallen angel. The stakes are at risk. If Corvus wins, everything dies. If you win, however, you lose the access to your sacred home. Like Battle in the Vast Sky, The Time of Decisive Battle is WONDERFULLY composed. You can feel the emotion in the pitch, the way the theme rises and drops, Corvus's anger and your hope; it's *BEAUTIFUL*. Sugiyama has done great. I hope that XI has a great story when it comes out.
Oh my gosh thats exactly how I feel about it DragonQuest 8 was perfect this final boss theme this battle the whole overworld the heros like Angelo and Jessica Ist was such a great game with a lot of fun and a great story But then comes Dragon Quest 9 Ich don’t even know where to start This game was such a big part of my childhood that I‘ll never forget The standard boss battle music was like „Okey now I need to focus soo hard to beat this boss“ but when I heared the final boss theme I was literally done It showed you how serious it was and the fact that it was now or never made it even more exciting The story was soo amazing and hearttouching To see how corvus thought that the girl he fell in love with betrayed him to save her own life made me sad He was so controlled by his anger and sadness that he wanted to destroy the whole world And... It is just so much to tell about but I keep it short Dragon Quest 9 is such a perfect game it deserves more love
Just wanted to point out the 9 was the most inspired by the Bible. Ridiculously different, of course, yet as a Christian I'm amazed at how I can tell something was based off of something in the Bible, while also being amazed at how different it is. But basically Corvus is like Satan with a sad backstory rather than a selfish and truly evil one. Oh crap I never played 7. I only played 6, 9, and B2, going to play 11. Dang. He seems much more like Satan than Corvus...
Yes. A dragon, pretty cool. Ah, a demon god - pretty cool. Ooh, evil zombie wizard? Count me in! A... green insect with two mouths? Pretty cool, I guess. Fat red blob. Questionable opinion, hm? Disembodied dragon head... Brain snake. Pretty cool, I guess. OKAY, THAT'S JUST A POUND OF CHEWED BUBBLEGUM.
For me, the Dracolord's theme will always be my favorite. I remember growing up learning how to read with Dragon Warrior 1. When I was four, my mom had gotten to the final battle with him and I decided to dance around the living room to the music. Right into the NES, successfully freezing the game. Good times.
First time beating Corvus (I was 6) the hero was one hit away from dying when corvus used kafrizz and I thought well I'm dead but my armour reflected the spell and killed him and 6 year old me sat in shock for 5 minutes. Not blinking not speaking. Just sat there. For five minutes. Not moving. Just sat there.
A giant, intimidating dragon. Spider snake of death. The most dangerous and significant DQ boss of the lot (story-wise). Psaro. What more is there to say? Fat red blob. Floating disembodied head. Brain snake. _h_
Honestly? I always liked Zoma the best. In that fight, more than any other, it didn't feel like you were 'destined' to be doing this. Erdrick didn't follow a legend, he MADE a legend. He was the guy that set out from his home, chasing his "Chuck Norris" father and became a legend spanning two worlds and hundreds of years. The fight with Zoma is a fitting end to that story, and the music is absolutely perfect.
Zoma's fight IS legendary. I like that in the end he prophesied that someone will take its place and the battle against the Heroes and the Archfiends/Demon Lords will rage on. Kinda like the final battle in Zelda Skyward Sword, but that one came much later.
I know that this comment is old, but the beginning of the Corvus Battle Theme is in fact the Observatory Theme speeded-up and more tempo marked. It also has the overture theme in the song. Great songs!
19:14 I love how final boss themes especially tend to do this - interlude into something more quirky and kinda cool and sometimes epic. it's assumed at this point that because you haven't been wiped, you're at least going to be there for a while and make it a good show. Which does happen to be the case with Corvus because he's reasonably hard when you first face him.
He is in Dragon Quest Builders 1 which is an alternate universe where the hero says yes to the dragonlord and you need to rebuild civilization centuries or even millenials later
One thing I really enjoyed about Dragon quest was that final bosses were just that: the final boss. You knew this was it, and every single one of them (mind you i went in blind on all games) were incredibly difficult compared to other final bosses I've fought. I'll always appreciate that from the series. Even if it means no post game content for most.
Han pasado años y yo sigo enganchada a DQ❤️ esque el juego en si es magia , la música es magia , la historia es magia ( todas y cada una de la saga ) esque de verdad vaya FANTASIA de juego 😍
DQ 9's game setup for multiplayer was legendary, I hope they make more available games to the U.S. and stronger multiplayer worlds. Grottos were a nice touch and the only dislike on the game was not being able to trade items between friends. All in all this game's uniqueness is what makes this game great and why I'm gonna remember playing it and the funny moments til I die. "Sniffle"
Unfortunately, I never got to experience it's multiplayer. There are Nintendo games I wish got an online mode. Like DQ9. Or Nintendo land. Basically games that were fun with friends that I just... Didn't have.
Psaro the Manslayer has been my favourite enemy design in the series for ages, but his theme could be improved on (It's still good). I think Rhapthorne's theme "Battle in the Heavens" is too damn awesome, especially DQ9's rearrangement :3
My favourite one out of them all is Rhapthornes Theme, but the orchestrated version (the one we got). It was my first Dragon Quest game and I fell in love with the music and the game itself. !!!!!!!!!!SPOILER!!!!!!!!!! After defeating Dhoulmagus who was the main antagonist most of the game, I thought I had done it, only for the game to be even longer. Oh, the joy I felt at that point. When finally facing Rhapthorne (the 2nd time) it felt like such a good ending, due to the way you fight him and the music.... fantastic game....maybe we will get to play it on next gen some day
I'm late to comment but dq9 is the first video game I ever played and somehow I never fought the final boss until like a month ago, I've played it all my life, restarted game then beat it in 48 hours... the best game I have played.
Corvus by far is my favorite boss. Mainly because sort of like Dragonlord...it was built up to fighting him, Dragonlord wasnt a dragon at one point. and Corvus wasnt a deranged psycotic demon yet. I know alot of people like Rhapthorne.... but i just cant dig into his style. shure he is gigantic, but the overwaight and purple skin turns him down. Corvus just has that "pure evil" look that would scare the $* out of you.
+Lajaty !! Mortamor is pretty evil too. He not only sends his minions to cause trouble, but in his spare time he picks up some random unlucky shmuck, drops them in his personal playpen and comes up with new ways of torturing those poor souls.
Lajaty !! Really? One of two problems I had with that game was that corvus just felt weak and generic to me, I thought there was very little build up and no real sense of danger or challenge to the fight and the design is kind of boring to me, but I'm glad you can enjoy it more than me :)
And rapthorne has that... Sac or whatever the hell that is at the bottom. DL looked like a mini zoma at one point. And then he was a dragon. YOU dumb fuck.
I hope someday in a future dragon quest main entry there will be this past awesome final bosses as optional fightable bosses. I wish to see them with updated character models in HD.
IX was my first and only dragon quest game thus far but out of all he games I've ever played with consistant ties to Nintendo I have never cried over a game and felt more genuine emotion than I did over this one. The whole game has so much life to it everyhing no matter how little is either high stakes or truly heart-warming/ heart-breaking around every bend in the story. Plus I have a soft spot for how much customization you have even if some of it is annoying as hell to get
incarnation of evil it's one of my favorites. and the one from zoma. mortamor theme it's more like dark dream theme to me haha . that guy was really hard when i played the game as a kid. i remember being like lv 40 and all character in hero and metal slime class. i even remember a slime got me an echo equipment that gives 2 spells. but he kinda one shooted at any critical hit to my characters so sometimes heals didn't come. i never finished the dragon quest 7 remaster since i got bored. they removed the skits and talks in battle so i just din finished the game because it feels empty, at least when they removed the skits for dragon quest 9 it was only the dungeon ones.so its still a great game.
I listened to this a couple of times, so much nostalgia great job man! Can't believe the games 10 years old now, and I have high hopes for a remake for the swich soon (probaly a couple of years) who's with me! Heros in smash, anything is possible at this stage!
There is this really good theory from the Japanese: *MAJOR SPOILERS, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED DRAGON QUEST IV/V/VI* Remember the secret ending in Dragon Quest VI, where Terry is found in Nokturnus’s layer. Also remember how Nokturnus is literally called the wrath and power of the goddess? Well, what else was stated to be of the source of the goddess? That is right, evolution… Well, furthermore, when Dragon Quest VI was being developed, Terry was intended to be the main character 「初期設定ではテリーが主人公だったが感情移入しにくいと思いやめた」(堀井氏) “In the initial setting Terry was the hero but stopped thinking that it is hard to transfer emotion”-(Sorry for the shit translation, give thanks to google translate. From the creator of Dragon Quest, basically saying that he was going to make Terry the main character 「テリーみたいな主人公を最初に描いた」(鳥山氏)“I drew the main character like Terry first" (Toriyama)” -This is what Akira Toriyama said, he planned on making the character look a lot like Terry Here is a pic for reference img.atwikiimg.com/www23.atwiki.jp/dq_story/attach/11/1/DQ01.jpg Now why is this important, because before Dragon Quest VI was released, Horii said this: 「魔族が人気なので6の主人公はそろそろ魔王にしようかと思ってる」(堀井氏) “Because the demons are popular, I think that the main character of 6 will be a demon king soon” Yep, they are pretty much saying Terry will be a demon king. Now why is this relevant? Because Terry likes gaining power and is pretty much a rival to Botsu, and so. It is possible that in this ending with Nokturnus, he harnesses his power, the power of the goddess, evolution… Such power turns him into the demon estark, who is the demon king. Another form of this theory dictates that Nokturnus in fact *possessed* Terry and manifested himself within him. Hence, why in DQIV, the people in the Azimuth talk as though Estark was reincarnated into Psaro. Or why Aamon’s evolved form reincarnated from Psaro. Because evolution is the movement of the essence of Nokturnus into another. The full theories can be found here: www23.atwiki.jp/dq_story/pages/11.htmldragonquesthistory.com/estarc.html I might write more on this if there are better translations of these pages, but for now, here is what I have on the theory
its as interesting as Yuji Horii confirming that the golden dragon is in fact the missing body from Ashlynn, as she was the only one from her people to survive the slaughter back then, but lost her body after herself and her race escaped to the dream world. There are quite many small hints to that throughout the game, including how feminime the dragon's artowrk has been drawn (back in the SNES version, where its more present!). This part was going to be made more revealing to the player but the troubled development hurt that idea ultiamtely, ironically some additional hints are given in the DS version but nothing is directly said to the player still in that, what a missed opportunity!
Orgodemir was so HARD in VII on the 3DS, especially towards the fourth phase of the fight where he uses the super-annoying breath attacks. I also found the satanic version of Heaven (a.k.a. The Realm of the Mighty) to be my most favorite level-grinding place in the game.
I got dragon quest 1 2 4 5 6 on my mobile 7 8 on 3ds and 9 on ds however I refused to play the mobile of dragon quest 3 on mobile so i play snes translation I really enjoy playing dragon quest series even though the western is unpopular but I always love dragon quest since 2010
The Dragon Lord as made several apperances or cameos in the Dragon Quest series, I can count 4, The first one obviously, then Dragon Quest 8 where he was called the Ultimate Dragon, then this game, and I think he appears in DGMJ.
Dracolord:Omagad,a fucking dragon, epic! Malroth:Wow,this one looks exotic, like polynesian demon! Zoma :A tall and scary sorcerer who look like zombie Psaro :Impressive...And toothy! Mildrath:This one need to lost some weight Deathtamoor:A old man! No!A demon! No!A dragon head!Wtf? Orgodemir:Dont your brain hurt? Rhaptorne :A balloon!Does somebody have a spike?
I am a badass! I am a badass with more limbs! I look like Kami! I have lots of eyes! I have Metal Sonic's eyes! I am Lord Beerus! I am Lord Frieza's Third form!! I AM MAJIN BUU! ...AND I AM KING VEGETA! (song goes super saiyan in the background) See what I mean? NOW PREPARE TO BE BODY SLAMMED!
My favourite form most to least: 1) Rhapthorne 2) Zoma 2.5) Estark (yes, I know he's not in the compilation, but still one of the best themes) 3) Corvus 4) Malroth 5) Orgodemir 6) Psaro 7) Dragonlord 8) Mortamor and 9) Nimzo
Dragon Quest 9 is my childhood i have like close to 2 THOUSAND hours on that game. I'm such a fanboy over that game :P The other games Like DQMJ are amazing too but dq9 is the actual reason i got into Adventure Rpg ^^
DQ1 - Big ass dragon DQ2 - ...Big ass dragon with more limbs. DQ3 - Not Baramos. DQ4 - Estark that gives birth to the antichrist that takes over his body. DQ5 - My dad on a Saturday night. DQ6 - A disembodied cat. DQ7 - I don't even know DQ8 - Fat neckbeard DQ9 - "I may look bad, but inside I'm an angel." - probably some hardcore edgy emo crackhead.
Thanks to smash I had the chance to play some DQ, I just finished DQ3 a few days ago, and now I'm about to face Psaro in DQ4, I hope that like me, there are more people trying to play these great games and that so this franchise receives the love and popularity it deserves, at least here in America.
The one I love is DQ3 final theme the first piece isn't hear but it shows the immense power and how unstoppable Soma is but then once you use the light orb that's when the heroic theme plays signaling it's your turn to call the shots now let's avange Ortega
It's funny how you got all these big fanged bois lined up and then Rhapthorne's just sitting there with his big gut just looking down on you disapprovingly.
I really like the Orgodemir music, but sadly, after getting there after 80+ hours in the game (3ds version), it was very disappointing to win first try with not much effort. Guess I was just overleveled. I beat Rapthorne first time too tho, but that journey only took 45 hours. ^^ I Still love Dragonquest. :3
Hey its (almost) all the good bosses music neat! Also am I the only one STILL WAITING for a Dragon Quest 9 remake? I think it's psst time I mean come on Square Enix!!!!!! Also nice pic!
I'm trying to remember why I liked Corvus's battle theme. Maybe it's just the quality of the video..? Or.. But I'm having a hard time figuring that out. Maybe hearing it for the first time on the DS paired with the fact that your fighting a fucking fallen angel demon thing straight outta HELL ITSELF just.. Stuck.
Riley Whidden There's also the fact that the ever catchy overture theme is included along with a heart pounding beat. The underlying ostinato also gives it a great sense of urgency. There's also the fact that it's quite fitting considering the fact that he was designed to be the hardest final boss in the series up to that point... which he proved to me by wiping out my team three or four times until I finally managed to grind up a few falcon blades to take him down with. I hate Magic Burst with a passion now. Anyway, that's just my two cents on it. It was actually my first entry into the series outside of the spinoffs, but I played that game to death. Without a doubt one of my favorite RPGs.
I still have nightmares because of Malroth, god gosh, that Boss and that cavern you have to go through to even reach him is the ultimate hell in a RPG. Dragonlord was easy, but the normal enemies of the entire map wasn't the case, specially those skeletons and golems. Zoma is either easy or hard, depends on the items you have to break his barrier and do more damage. In overall he has powerful spells and can be annoying, but isn't impossible.
Considering playing all the other dragon quest... Dragon quest 9 was a blast for many of friends, and ofc me. Such tedious and unwanted farm for the end game Gear tho...
Fun fact: the Dragonlord was the first video game boss ever to have multiple forms.
Drago the Shinigami nice
Source?
Not in the original Japanese version. The dragon was simply his super powerful pet that came out of nowhere. It was in the English version that introduce the dragon as his final form.
Hai Huynh ...the Dragon was always his second form. The “pet” is an urban legend.
This ain’t even my final form, son

Shaun Davis yeah, I realised I was ridiculously overleveled for the battle then
40s a good level for that fight, actually.
Lol i had good quipment but was around lv 34 the fight took me 30 mins
It does seem like the fight against corvas was ment to be close, I remember my battle I beat him one turn before magic burst which, when I reached him found out it would have ment my immediate death
oh men i have the same story my team has no priest and turn around lvl 42
Corvus use a spell critical and all my team are to 30HP and everyone gain special abilitie at this time and i use to finish the boss that was so good and i finnaly win after 30 reset

Not blinking not speaking. Just sat there. For five minutes. Not moving. Just sat there.
that guy This was actually my case as well.
Dude...
Lol beat him when I was 8, but I found him really easy since I had a falcon blade
And then there is me, beat him when I was *14*. Hm
@@yumo3064 hah, I beat him recently and I'm 18, so you can still flex.
A giant, intimidating dragon.
Spider snake of death.
The most dangerous and significant DQ boss of the lot (story-wise).
Psaro. What more is there to say?
Fat red blob.
Floating disembodied head.
Brain snake.
_h_
thisjacktansley Rapthorne is the lord of M’lady an all M’lady kind
+luminozero
Very astute point. And Ortega did look like Chuck Norris now that you mention it.
Zoma's fight IS legendary. I like that in the end he prophesied that someone will take its place and the battle against the Heroes and the Archfiends/Demon Lords will rage on. Kinda like the final battle in Zelda Skyward Sword, but that one came much later.
luminozero I agree. Zoma is the best boss and he has the best theme. He is the true king of demons
This. I was just amazed when I fought against him. The true meaning of epic.
I love Zoma's battle, too! His theme made my day!
The Hero is in Smash Bois!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love how in 8 and 9 they put a sample from the main theme in the music
Oh thank God! Someone else noticed that to!
ZeroShard A little bit strange , but I love it too :3
In DQ8 there's some of DQ3's sky theme and that's also a nice touch considering where the fight takes place.
I hate the sad fact that Dragon Quest is so weak in the west....
I know right
I'm in the West and I own it, but I don't know anyone else who does
4. september i bought DQ 11 :3
*AMASING*
@@daanid869 Mine's still shipping, but I'm super excited!!
Daani D lvl 99 with all Characters haha
The dislikes are from Alef, Roland, Erdrick, Solo/Sofia, Madason, Reck, Auster, Eight, Nine, X, Eleven and their party members.
AWSOME! The dragonlord theme from the nes dragon warrior game! and it sounds so much more epic then it did before. Awsome!
If you pay attention Zoma theme starts with the same tune as the normal battle theme and the overworld Alefgard theme of Dragon Quest 3
true
yes actually
Still, it's and incredible theme all around!
I know that this comment is old, but the beginning of the Corvus Battle Theme is in fact the Observatory Theme speeded-up and more tempo marked. It also has the overture theme in the song. Great songs!
Let's all hope for some more covers for these now that our bois are in Smash
8 midis and no final boss themes rip
Then again there might be remakes of some of the games. Some might be ports, but I really want a remake of dq9. I'll wait patiently too! 😁
He's the easiest final boss out of all of these in my opinion!
Roberto Martinez
It's my first time playing the DQ games so there you go. :P
Getting the DQ3 flying theme woven into the DQ8 final boss feels so right, because it actually takes place in the sky.
Dragonlord is the true boss of Dragon quest. Hopefully someday he makes a comeback!
If you know what i mean Isnt he in the first Dragon Quest Heroes?
Kalila Chan i noticed he's in DQ Heroes 2.
He was in X for an event.
he looks ridiculous in IX though Xd
He is in Dragon Quest Builders 1 which is an alternate universe where the hero says yes to the dragonlord and you need to rebuild civilization centuries or even millenials later
Dragon Quest IX has by far the most epic fighting music. It's evil, yet has this beautiful theme
I mean, he basically is a fallen angel. He had so much potential to do good, but the desire for revenge engulfed him.
19:30 literally the saddest trumpet I've ever heard... So enthusiastic...
Corvus' sadness can be heard by this trumpet!
Most RPGs: kill god
Main series Dragon Quest: kill the devil
Dragon Quest Builders 2: redeem and befriend the devil
19:11 this part really sells the point that you’re fighting for _everything that is,_ like how a real FINAL BATTLE should sound.
"Sniffle"
Volva Gaming actually! You can trade items with your friends! Well. More like just give items.
Unfortunately, I never got to experience it's multiplayer. There are Nintendo games I wish got an online mode. Like DQ9. Or Nintendo land. Basically games that were fun with friends that I just... Didn't have.
Battle In The Heavens - Rhapthorne's way of giving a massive middle finger to the other Final Bosses of Dragon Quest.
The Dragon Lords classical style is just beautiful
Psaro the Manslayer has been my favourite enemy design in the series for ages, but his theme could be improved on (It's still good). I think Rhapthorne's theme "Battle in the Heavens" is too damn awesome, especially DQ9's rearrangement :3
Malroth's will always be special to me. Dragon Warrior 2 was the first RPG I ever beat.
When finally facing Rhapthorne (the 2nd time) it felt like such a good ending, due to the way you fight him and the music.... fantastic game....maybe we will get to play it on next gen some day
すばらしい!! DQ All Play.
win a DQ.
I cannot wait for DQ11.No speak english. ←えいご、まちがってたら ごめんなさい。
Thanks! When DQ11 comes out I'll probably make an updated video.
thank you frostare!!
That heart was a bit late xD
I cannot speak Japanese, but I cannot wait, too!
i guess the waiting payed off :D the game is awesome
I agree! Corvus was an amazing villain that hates mankind and will do anything to get his way! DQ9 deserves to be on the 3DS!
ThePlayer 313 i agree
Lajaty !!
We need another DQ like IX. Dope.
Plus I have a soft spot for how much customization you have even if some of it is annoying as hell to get
Yea
The first time i saw Dragonlord, with this music, not knowing him because i never played the first DQ...scared me a lot. Looks cool as hell anyway
Zoma's boss theme is also Calasmos's in DQXI.
Corvus is..Ugh.
Amazing.
i remember i tried fighting marloth when i was little and i would get my ass kicked by him every single time i tried fighting him.
Rapthorne’s just gets stuck in my head!
Never played DQ III but Zomas theme is really nice and my favorite of them
incarnation of evil it's one of my favorites.
and the one from zoma.
mortamor theme it's more like dark dream theme to me haha .
that guy was really hard when i played the game as a kid.
i remember being like lv 40 and all character in hero and metal slime class.
i even remember a slime got me an echo equipment that gives 2 spells.
but he kinda one shooted at any critical hit to my characters so sometimes heals didn't come.
i never finished the dragon quest 7 remaster since i got bored.
they removed the skits and talks in battle so i just din finished the game because it feels empty, at least when they removed the skits for dragon quest 9 it was only the dungeon ones.so its still a great game.
dragon quest 9's boss theme will forever be my favorite man i swear
My favorite final boss theme is a tie between Rhapthorne's and Corvus'.
Rhapthorne theme is the most catchy. Lord Zoma's theme is pretty boss too. Psaro's is badass
Funny the game on is called dragon quest but there seems to be less dragon enemies than their should be
Well they did call their first final boss dragonlord... they were probably like 'maybe we use dragons too much'
i didnt know that because i have never had the opportunity to play dq1 but thanks for telling me
neither have I but it was written in the video wasn't it?
Deus Ignis
The regular weapon in the game is the sword, and one of the moves you can use with a sword is Dragon Slash.
well on some games you know a dragon or are a dragon like dq8
Mortamor sounds kinda like... Tortimer. Holy crap, THEY'RE RELATED!!!
LizarDragonGaming why is he related to a turtle
HOLY CRAP THE AC DQ CROSSOVER IS BEGGINING
2:37 when moms home but you forget to do yo chores
I listened to this a couple of times, so much nostalgia great job man! Can't believe the games 10 years old now, and I have high hopes for a remake for the swich soon (probaly a couple of years) who's with me! Heros in smash, anything is possible at this stage!
They all look so cool
Best themes are:
1.) Zoma
2.) Malroth
3.) Dragonlord
4.) Rapthorne
5.) Nimzo (Mildrass)
6.) Psaro
7.) Orgodemir
8.) Mortamor
at the beggining of nizmo's theme I was a bit shocked how good that was DQ has the best theme!!!! #DQ
There is this really good theory from the Japanese:
*MAJOR SPOILERS, DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED DRAGON QUEST IV/V/VI*
Remember the secret ending in Dragon Quest VI, where Terry is found in Nokturnus’s layer. Also remember how Nokturnus is literally called the wrath and power of the goddess? Well, what else was stated to be of the source of the goddess?
That is right, evolution…
Well, furthermore, when Dragon Quest VI was being developed, Terry was intended to be the main character
「初期設定ではテリーが主人公だったが感情移入しにくいと思いやめた」(堀井氏)
“In the initial setting Terry was the hero but stopped thinking that it is hard to transfer emotion”-(Sorry for the shit translation, give thanks to google translate. From the creator of Dragon Quest, basically saying that he was going to make Terry the main character
「テリーみたいな主人公を最初に描いた」(鳥山氏)“I drew the main character like Terry first" (Toriyama)”
-This is what Akira Toriyama said, he planned on making the character look a lot like Terry
Here is a pic for reference
img.atwikiimg.com/www23.atwiki.jp/dq_story/attach/11/1/DQ01.jpg
Now why is this important, because before Dragon Quest VI was released, Horii said this:
「魔族が人気なので6の主人公はそろそろ魔王にしようかと思ってる」(堀井氏)
“Because the demons are popular, I think that the main character of 6 will be a demon king soon”
Yep, they are pretty much saying Terry will be a demon king.
Now why is this relevant? Because Terry likes gaining power and is pretty much a rival to Botsu, and so. It is possible that in this ending with Nokturnus, he harnesses his power, the power of the goddess, evolution…
Such power turns him into the demon estark, who is the demon king.
The full theories can be found here:
www23.atwiki.jp/dq_story/pages/11.htmldragonquesthistory.com/estarc.html
I might write more on this if there are better translations of these pages, but for now, here is what I have on the theory
Woah.
This is now officially my head cannon
its as interesting as Yuji Horii confirming that the golden dragon is in fact the missing body from Ashlynn, as she was the only one from her people to survive the slaughter back then, but lost her body after herself and her race escaped to the dream world.
R.I.P Koichi Sugiyama
Goodbye Master
so sadly
Its amazing when you realise most of these soundtracks were used in Dragon Quest Dai Old Anime!
gotta love Corvus
Dragon Quest 9 was the very first Dragon Quest game I EVER played! His fight made an incredible ending for an incredible game!
Betcha didn’t expect a little Blue Slime to be here
Orgodemir was so HARD in VII on the 3DS, especially towards the fourth phase of the fight where he uses the super-annoying breath attacks.
*DQMJ
He also appears in DQ Battle Road Victory and is mentioned in Dragon Quest II
that was not the dragon lord, that was the DRAGOVIAN Lord, two separate entities
Shinyhunterlobo and ShinyhunterRaven I do understand that, but they share so many similarities that they could basically be classed as the same being
And funny enough, you need Dracolord in order to fuse with another final boss(I think Rhapthorne II) to get the Dragovian Lord in Joker.
My favorite is without hesitation Psaro the Manslayer.
estas bandas sonoras me encantan, gracias
Dracolord:Omagad,a fucking dragon,epic!
Malroth:Wow,this one looks exotic, like polynesian demon!
Zoma :A tall and scary sorcerer who look like zombie
Psaro :Impressive...And toothy!
Mildrath:This one need to lost some weight
Deathtamoor:A old man!No!A demon!No!A dragon head!Wtf?
Orgodemir:Dont your brain hurt?
Rhaptorne :A balloon!Does somebody have a spike?
Look at them all then you see Rapthorn and facepalm
I am a badass! I am a badass with more limbs! I look like Kami! I have lots of eyes! I have Metal Sonic's eyes! I am Lord Beerus! I am Lord Frieza's Third form!!
I AM MAJIN BUU! ...AND I AM KING VEGETA! (song goes super saiyan in the background) See what I mean? NOW PREPARE TO BE BODY SLAMMED!
Ronin Tails we get it god
He looks like a giant magic balloon ready to *Magic Burst.*
Psaro’s theme is by far the most intimidating
Nimzo
I can't wait to fight Psaro the Manslayer now.
Also loving Malroth's theme
Great, not fan of the video games but as seen I'm super fan of the anime and they use the same music!
As evidenced by your avatar. It's too bad we're not getting Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 Pro, it contains monsters from the anime!
Dragon lord's theme was most useful in an important Pokémon battle I had with a friend. It was all worth it
Either Zoma or Rapthorne theme in Smash please. I need to feel the nostalgia !! 😭🙏🏾💯
We need ALL OF THESE THEMES IN SMASH!
Eamon Hagi this, i agree with
We needed a video like this SOOOO BADLY.
My hat off to you sir :D
The corvus one is the only one I know which is why i got chills when i heard it lol
these are the themes that even a non-dq player could love to the end of time.
My favourite form most to least:
1) Rhapthorne
2) Zoma
2.5) Estark (yes, I know he's not in the compilation, but still one of the best themes)
3) Corvus
4) Malroth
5) Orgodemir
6) Psaro
7) Dragonlord
8) Mortamor
and 9) Nimzo
Dragon Quest 9 is my childhood i have like close to 2 THOUSAND hours on that game.
I'm such a fanboy over that game :P The other games Like DQMJ are amazing too but dq9 is the actual reason i got into Adventure Rpg ^^
DQ1 - Big ass dragon
DQ2 - ...Big ass dragon with more limbs.
DQ3 - Not Baramos.
DQ4 - Estark that gives birth to the antichrist that takes over his body.
DQ5 - My dad on a Saturday night.
DQ6 - A disembodied cat.
DQ7 - I don't even know
DQ8 - Fat neckbeard
DQ9 - "I may look bad, but inside I'm an angel." - probably some hardcore edgy emo crackhead.
"Hardcore edgy emo crackhead".
*Triggered*
yeah the 9 is bad.. the boss. but Kenfler was perfect as a final boss
P'tits Gribouillis "9 is bad"
I have the feeling you didn't play Number 9.
Hem sorry... i played this games 3 times... so why ?
P'tits Gribouillis Corrus was a great boss dude.
I was just listening to these real calmly and then Rhapthrone kicks in like damn
Each game with its own unique story man you gotta love dragon quest to bad in the West we hardly get any dragon quest games.
Just 9 more days until Dragon Quest XI!
Flawed in many ways but damn did Dragon Quest 2 have some amazing music.
Look at the chompers on all those guys, then we have Rhapthorne, lol.
Nimzo's theme always reminds me of Ghetsis's theme for Pokémon b&w
And both are final bosses of fifth games, no less. ;)
I only played DQB and DQB 2 though but i liked the most was Dragonlord's Theme :)
Thanks to smash I had the chance to play some DQ, I just finished DQ3 a few days ago, and now I'm about to face Psaro in DQ4, I hope that like me, there are more people trying to play these great games and that so this franchise receives the love and popularity it deserves, at least here in America.
I knew Mr. Sakurai had the power to bring us some new questers. Welcome to the group! =)
The one I love is DQ3 final theme the first piece isn't hear but it shows the immense power and how unstoppable Soma is but then once you use the light orb that's when the heroic theme plays signaling it's your turn to call the shots now let's avange Ortega
Glad to know i'm not the only guy in love with dragon quest.
Gotta love Dragonlords theme, hands down the strongest boss in DQ9 not so much in DQ1
Gran recopilación frostare👍
Me encantan las BSO de todos los DQ sobre todo las de los final Boss
It's funny how you got all these big fanged bois lined up and then Rhapthorne's just sitting there with his big gut just looking down on you disapprovingly.
I really like the Orgodemir music, but sadly, after getting there after 80+ hours in the game (3ds version), it was very disappointing to win first try with not much effort. Guess I was just overleveled. I beat Rapthorne first time too tho, but that journey only took 45 hours. ^^ I Still love Dragonquest. :3
First of all... HOW THE HELL DO THESE PLAY ON A DS?!
*shrugs* and not just the music; I am still more amazed at the things they could fit in this DS game than Pokémon B2/W2.
Graphics are sacrificed for the sake of song. One reason that sacrifice was so worth in for 11S.
16 epic channels of audio
Idk
I ask this question in pokemon sun and moon every day
Hey its (almost) all the good bosses music neat! Also am I the only one STILL WAITING for a Dragon Quest 9 remake? I think it's psst time I mean come on Square Enix!!!!!! Also nice pic!
Hehe I like Nimzo's theme. It really fits well when fighting Estark also :-)
Thank you bro!!!
Stuck.
One of the best final bosses in video games in my opinion
He became a god if you listen to the story there's no zenus Corvus claims he becomes the new God .-.
+Matt Yan You hate magic burst until you unlock it as a sage and then you just spend all of your mana at the beginning of every battle
Vader dog Very True! I did grind a lot though, so I had plenty of restoratives to make that abusable.
The best theme ist rhapthorne's theme❤️❤️💋💋
Gabriel Polz absolutely
Nah, Orbodemir is better
Dragonlord is one best boss theme ever😌
Maybe it's just cause I grew up on dq5 but nimzo is my all time favorite
