I had a 1976 2002. By far my favorite car I ever owned. Unfortunately she died of cancer. So much fun to drive. Mechanically they were way ahead of their time. Especially the handling. I hope I can get my hands on another one someday.
I wouldn't worry about this content not applying to what other BMW restorations are doing because that motor mount crack applies to ALL BMW 2002 restorations. It is a known flaw. So much so that you can buy a specially made reinforcement plate to weld in much like the one you made. Nice job.
hello Derek How are you? keep pushing man. I have a 1976 2002 myself that I am working on. I got it back from the body shop and doing a M20 swap. i will send you some pics when you ready. we are crazy to do this but it keeps us sane🤣
Dude you have 70 subs so now you are a UA-cam star! (Hi Gavin!) Gotta love making things out of scrap, thanks for keeping it bmw. By the way, what was that scrap piece from?😂
I can't remember exactly what it was. Something that was warrantied then scrapped and I kept the bracket from it. Maybe a charcoal canister or something.

And here I thought you’d have to take the engine out to fix that mount 😂. I should have known better.
You should have known better I would have spent 5x as long fixing it just so I didn't have to take the engine out again. ☺️
