As skilled and cruel as kim sul yeung was ... he'd be completely helpless against pai mei ... pai mei is far older and far more experienced as well, supposedly killed an entire monk monastary single handedly with zero effort and knows the 5 point finger exploding heart technique... a technique so devastating it makes the silver bullet look like a love tap by comparison
I wonder if there where any plans to have Kim Sun-Yung instead of Terry Silver as the main antagonist of The Karate Kid Part, makes us imagine Mr. Miyagi fighting Master Kim before eventually defeating him by kicking him into the mirror and having paint spill all over him🌳🐍🇯🇵🇰🇷
Everyone pretty much has their matches, Frank Castle’s encountered The Hitman in his early Punisher years, Iron Fist has Steel Serpent, Fisto has Jitsu, Blaster has Soundwave, 🐍 👀 has ⛈️ Shadow, Peter Parker has Eddie Brock, Wolverine has Sabertooth, Captain Falcon has 🩸 Falcon, Darkwing Duck has NegaDuck, Uncle Scrooge has Glumgold and despite being evenly match they always manage to defeat them😎🤠🥋💪🤼♂️
Right, as there should be a mention of top 10 or 20 greatest rivalry matches, including kim to match miyagi that they should include, the same for vengeance matching ghost rider as another example, besides the others you mentioned that are heroes that have their enemies/opponents as their own great matches of course
I think the best analogy is Yoda and Palpatine in Revenge of the Sith. I think he is Miyagi's rival. I don't think Miyagi can beat him without getting hurt even though nobody else can hurt him.
@@Zurround you said that 100% perfectly. I made the exact same comparison in other comments. I actually think Kim Sun-Yung is superior to Mr. Myagi, just as we saw Emperor Palpatine was superior to Yoda. I also think Terry Silver saw that same bandana Daniel LaRusso did confirming Mr. Myagi fought in the tournament. Terry Silver was a master of psychological torture. I believe the entire reason Terry Silver introduced himself as a student of his Master - Kim Sun Yung of South Korea - is because Terry Silver knew that would strike a nerve with Mr. Myagi. Terry likely knew Mr. Myagi had lost to Kim Sun Yung in the past.
@@michaelzoran I posted on another thread that if there are books or novels to expand this fictional universe like they did with star wars and star trek that a great story to explain Miyagi's death (he was pretty old but my idea is to have Miyagi be someone who had a predisposition to a very long life as Master Kim did) was that he had to fight Master Kim a few years before he died and Miyagi DID win but only with great difficulty and he had to get badly hurt to do it and the permanent damage he suffered caused his health to diminish. Sort of like how in Rocky 4 Rocky technically won the fight but suffered more permanent damage than Drago did.
@russiantroubleyyakutsk1612, there is no doubt Kim Sun Yung was not just "At Mr. Myagi's level." Kim Sun Yung was at a level beyond anything Mr. Myagi ever reached. This is why Kim Sun Yung is so feared that you admire him - sort of like The Borg in Star Trek. When we saw John Kreese fight against Mr. Myagi in Karate Kid 3, it took some very advanced moves for Mr. Myagi to defeat John Kreese. Mr. Myagi only needed very basic moves to defeat Mike Barnes. Terry Silver had the advantage of just watching Mr. Myagi defeat his buddy, John, so Terry knew to be careful. But, we never really saw Mr. Myagi actually "Defeat" Terry Silver. All we saw was Terry get pushed away a couple times and end up with some paint spilled on his body. When we saw John Kreese fight against Kim Sun Yung in Cobra Kai, it took very basic moves for Kim Sun Yung to defeat his student John Kreese. Terry Silver didn't even try to save the person who saved his life a countless number of times, because Terry Silver knew it would be pointless and hopeless to try to defeat Kim Sun Yung. There is no doubt, Kim Sun Yung is far superior to Mr. Myagi. I believe they likely fought in the past - with Kim Sun Yung easily defeating Mr. Myagi. This may have been one of the reasons Mr. Myagi left Japan for America. This also may have been the reason Terry Silver specifically introduced himself by saying his master was "Kim Sun Yung of South Korea." Remember, Terry Silver had broken into the home of Myagi and learned Mr. Myagi was in the 442nd and also would have seen the same bandana Daniel LaRusso found. Thus, Terry would have known that mentioning the name of "Kim Sun Yung" would bring psychological torment to Mr. Myagi.
@@Zurround I understand your logic. The only thing I don't like about it is that such a book or comic would be yet another example where "The Good Guys" always win. I liked Cobra Kai - particularly Season 1 - because "The Bad Guys" were allowed to win. You are correct that Ivan Drago caused permanent injuries to the brain in Rocky Balboa's hard head. But, if Kim Sun Yung were the loser of such a fight, I don't think he would continue to teach the same lesson of "No Mercy" that he had taught for so many decades. The reason we see Kim Sun Yung continue to teach such a lesson is because the concept of "No Mercy" was successful. Also, the way Kim Sun Yung explained things to John Kreese regarding the recovery of his weapon that was used against "Japanese" soldiers (i.e. potentially Myagi), it sounds like Kim Sun Yung won the fight against the Japanese soldiers, but lost his sword in a dangerous environment. It sounds like Kim Sun Yung lost the weapon to the dangerous snakes, not so much the Japanese soldiers.
We need a new show on how krease went from a decent guy sticking up for kids and people to being the monster he became
Johnny Uses the same exact kick against Daniel in the first Karate kid Tournament 1:40.
I think that was Dutch.
@@GalenJoyce-ff2cp They both used it.
that was a sweep then a kick, he never used this one
0:31 someone forgot they are in Korea, not in Japan😅
and yet mr miyagi still solos
Yeah she should be learning
Is that Pei Mei from "Kill Bill"?
More like if Pai Mei adopted Shang Tsung’s fighting style
Was thinking the same thing the second I saw this dude. Especially considering Pei Mei is pretty old and yet still alive and being a douche

I believe kim sun-yung would be more challenging than terry silver, for miyagi to go 1 on 1 with, as his match as a matter of fact.🤼♂️🤔😄

He will just kick your ass
Was this Kim Sun Young really really at Mr Miyagi’s level?

Why the hell would Kim hit her grand father?
He doesn’t believe in mercy!
Because he already told her not to go to the dojang but she goes there that's why he hit her.
