My favorite dame....I always love her. I remember when I serve her at The Plaza Hotel in NY, my job for 30 years. I had the opportunity to talk to her couple times. I remember when I asked for a picture, she doesn't have one at the moment. She asks for my home address and 2 months later she sends me her picture from France, where she used to live. I keep the picture still, dated Jan. 23 1973. I'm so glad that she is still alive... God bless her....
I was there on this same night at LACMA and definitely a night to remember! I remember the blue dress looked so nice on her and they showed "The Heiress" after the interview. She told so many interesting stories about the night of the opening of "The Heiress" at the Carthay Circle Theater back in 1949 and how she couldn't attend as she had just given birth to her son, but she could see the lights from the Theater from the large picture window at her home that night. She has an amazing memory and especially for details. May Almighty God bless this precious soul.
Forget to say both amazing actor's adore the two godesses of screen never can get enough of their movies watch them all the time. Both Oscar winners. Born to British parents mainly raised and lived in America.
I was lucky enough to see her twice that week. Once at the Acadamy on Wilshire and a few days later at the County Museum. The Acadamey held a tribute hosted by Robert Osborne. The Museum screened The Heiress. She told us many inside stories. A few days after that on her 90th B-day, they screened Gone With The Wind. What a WEEK!!!!! I am Grateful.
people like olivia de havilland were the best of the best , and the films of the golden age were far better then anything we have today, the movies of today are junk compared to the movies of the golden age
