I filed a SDI claim back in Feb. Put the wrong date so I made an appeal. Now I had to do everything through mail. My doc send the medical form and my Job sent the employee form as well. At first my job told me they didn't receive it but just Aug 8th they said they have it and will send it out. It's September 11th and I'm still waiting. I been calling and all it say is the maximum of people have been reached please call again. It's so frustrating.
It’s seems ,after reading all these comments , the questions in the comments the most and the most confusing and worried some is the actual claimant application online and the doctor form that needs to be included to complete the DI application. Would it be smart ,on the applicants part , to paper send his or her application to DI department , so there is no confusion and/or delays on the application process? I ask this because then the applicant can actually have physical custody of the doctors certification and he or she can mail it themselves along with their part of their application. Otherwise, sending the application separately and praying the doctor’s office does their portion ( by logging onto CA DI website) and sending the certificate to SDI on the applicant’s behalf it would alleviate the applicant anxiety on wondering if the doctors office did their portion actually sending the form to the SDI office . Just asking .

I talked to my HR manager to help me sign up the EDD SDI online and put my primary doctor name for spinal injury. When I go and ask my doctor to sign a paper, he told me to see orthopedic doctor to sign a paper over there. I don’t know how do I edit my doctor’s name on SDI online because the form already filled out and gave a receipt number.
I filed my legitimate doctor ordered SDI claim 41 days ago and have not received a single payment from them as of yet even though my doctors claims department swears up, down and left and right that they received the first two claims and have accepted them.

Doctors file claims all the time that do not get processed for one reason or another. If you have an SDI Online account (EDD.CA.GOV), check to see if your claim has been processed. If the doctor submitted their portion on time and you have still not heard anything, there is a problem with your claim and you should set aside a day and call or go to a field office.

If you are still disabled and have not returned to work, have your doctor file an extension for you online, or if they only file paper extensions and they do not have one, or one has not been sent to you, you can request it online or go to an EDD office and request a paper form (2525XX). Don’t wait in line, just ask the security guard for an XX.
you forgot to mention your physician/practitioner must register on SDI omline and fill pout the form its a pain in the ass because my doc lives in a different state..
If your P/P is in a different state (or country) they will have to file the medical portion via a paper application. Out of state doctors cannot use SDI Online to file. You are correct that this can be an inconvenience.
What about self employed edd disability pay? Edd mentioned they have to have elective disability. What is elective disability and how can a self employer get this?
Your doctor will need the R# but make sure you have the right name of the doctor who is going to give you the ok for disability, you can file your part online but make sure when was the first day you got on disability and the last day you worked
Not necessarily. You can still apply. You may just lose some of the time/benefits. If you are still not working, still disabled and a doctor will certify to your disability, you can still receive benefits as long as there are wages in your base period. The benefits will only be paid back 49 days, but you can appeal that, and if you can prove good cause you may get the whole claim. It’s worth trying.
If they resigned because of an illness, injury or pregnancy, and their doctor will certify that they were unable to continue working due to that condition.

@@myyoutubechannel3161 go to ur local edd office and pick up forms there. They usually have them outside the office so u don't have to wait in line to get them.
If you are losing wages because of your disability, you can file for partial disability. The amount would be based on your regular earnings from before your disability began. The total you could receive, meaning your wages, combined with disability payments can only add up to what your benefit would be if you were not working at all. In other words, if your disability benefit would be $500 a week if you were not working, your wages and the disability combined could only add up to $500.
The notice of computation is just to let you know that EDD is determining what your benefit will be if you are approved. It gives you the opportunity to dispute missing wages in your base period.

Would anyone know what the proper protocol is when filling out the online portion but my doctor has to use the mail in form. the paperwork says do not submit this paperwork if you file online but the only way to get a reference number was to do it online. does anyone have any information about this? Hospitals are generally privately operated in California. I don’t know who CB is. I can assure you though that there is no collusion between these entities. Have you tried calling them? This is somewhat common and calling them is the fastest way to fix it.

Apply between 8-49 days after you stop working and your doctor has deemed you unable to work.
