This really reassures me to read, I've been thinking about going into construction and eventually carpentry and have heard quite a lot of horror stories about how there's still barely any women in these jobs and the harassment for them can be pretty bad. I'm and Autistic dude, and I was single until my late 20s where shortly after married my wife of 8 years now, so in a sense I am sympathetic to a lot of single guys. I'm not going to ever say I was "hated" by society for being single, but there was definitely deference in how I was treated. People thought I was queer/gay because I never expressed interest in women, which wasn't the case. That being said, I never blamed women for being single for so long, I can barely make friends with other guys. I have trouble forming relationships because there are aspects of my personality that is incompatible with most people, that's going to be something I am always going to have to work on, and that's okay. This is a bit differently to how a lot of single guys are processing their loneliness however, because these young men feel entitled to be with a woman. Most young men I've known in my former friend groups are usually unambitious, which is something many women can tolerate, what they don't want to put up with are men who are emotionally under-developed. Instead of recognizing that and working on it, Many young men instead internalize their frustrations and feel the need to shift that burden over to a group of people to blame. A lot of guys don't seem to want a real relationship with women as much as they seem to want them as a status symbol or a second mom, which to me is kind of a an ass-backwards way of viewing things. If you're a young guy having trouble getting a date, think about how your attitudes might be contributing to that. - Have you internalized sexist ideas or generalizations of women in your life? - Do you think those perspectives might be preventing you from making friends with women? - Have you even tried making friends with women? - What exactly are your motivations for trying to get a girlfriend in the first place? - Are you a tradesman? (I'm joking, but not really) If you want a girlfriend because you are trying to check off some life milestones, curb your loneliness, or impress your friends/family/"society", then I think you need to rethink your priorities.

Prenups don't work all the time. The second you get officially married, every penny from that point forward can be contested/taken in marriage/divorce. Also, it depends on the case the judge can rip or negate a prenup. The fact they focus so much on divorce before they're even in a relationship means that they're going into a relationship expecting it to fail. They're pretty much ensuring that the relationship fails before it even begins.

You don't get to have someone help you build wealth and family, then dip when it's inconvenient leaving that person with nothing just because you brought a house into the relationship. Women are often more financially worse off than men are after a divorce, but those are stats that don't fit the the narrative that men are victims. Just like 97% of couples decide the mom would keep the child with no courts involved. Only less than 4% of men Legally don't get custody their kids, if they show up to court and fight for them. But again, men are victims so it doesn't fit the pity party scene. It's interesting that relationships aren't seen as something to be builded on, and could just not work out because of something they've done, or both partners did. To these men, women are objects to be used, and therefore any failure of the relationship, can only be a her problem. It's not different than that butthole coworker that can't and won't do their job correctly then turn around and cry that no one likes them.

I’ve noticed the same thing. A lot of these alpha male grifters legit look and sound like people I know with serious mental illnesses. (Family members with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, etc.) I hope that mental health continues to become less stigmatized, because a lot of people who make and relate to this kind of content could legitimately be suffering from brain-based illnesses! There are therapeutic and medicinal interventions that can help. No one should suffer alone with things like unprovoked intense mood swings, overreactions, high irritability/rage, paranoia, depression, etc. We (hopefully) don’t shame people for genetic illnesses that require medication like diabetes, or supports like glasses. One day, I hope society also stops shaming people with mental illness, so that people aren’t afraid of the labels and will have easier access to the supports they need and deserve. 🙏 (And hopefully, all societies move towards ensuring people of ALL economic classes have access to such healthcare!)
He was in my feed somehow a couple years ago and the videos were about faith and spirituality but a bit paranoid. I do worry about him because I think he most likely has an untreated mental illness. It seems like a lonely place to be. And there's a lot of pattern-making and repetition in the videos I've seen where I think he's neurodivergent in some way. I hope your aunt is doing well.
It's also the way a covert/vulnerable narcissist talks about other people, usually in an effort to gain sympathy from targets, or build up a group of sympathetic ppl to manipulate into doing/giving them things... But I just think that toxic masculinity and these guys' bottomless sense of entitlement renders them incapable of empathy or self introspection. Entitled guys like this become nightmares after therapy--IF anybody can even convince them to go--because they don't stop behaving this way, but they instead learn how to weaponize therapy concepts against women. The therapist Lundy Bancroft wrote a book about this exact phenomenon, called "Why Does He Do That?"

I'm and Autistic dude, and I was single until my late 20s where shortly after married my wife of 8 years now, so in a sense I am sympathetic to a lot of single guys.
I'm not going to ever say I was "hated" by society for being single, but there was definitely deference in how I was treated. People thought I was queer/gay because I never expressed interest in women, which wasn't the case. That being said, I never blamed women for being single for so long, I can barely make friends with other guys.
I have trouble forming relationships because there are aspects of my personality that is incompatible with most people, that's going to be something I am always going to have to work on, and that's okay.
This is a bit differently to how a lot of single guys are processing their loneliness however, because these young men feel entitled to be with a woman. Most young men I've known in my former friend groups are usually unambitious, which is something many women can tolerate, what they don't want to put up with are men who are emotionally under-developed.
Instead of recognizing that and working on it, Many young men instead internalize their frustrations and feel the need to shift that burden over to a group of people to blame.
A lot of guys don't seem to want a real relationship with women as much as they seem to want them as a status symbol or a second mom, which to me is kind of a an ass-backwards way of viewing things.
If you're a young guy having trouble getting a date, think about how your attitudes might be contributing to that.
- Have you internalized sexist ideas or generalizations of women in your life?
- Do you think those perspectives might be preventing you from making friends with women?
- Have you even tried making friends with women?
- What exactly are your motivations for trying to get a girlfriend in the first place?

Prenups don't work all the time. The second you get officially married, every penny from that point forward can be contested/taken in marriage/divorce. Prenups have to be fair and balanced.
You don't get to have someone help you build wealth and family, then dip when it's inconvenient leaving that person with nothing just because you brought a house into the relationship.
Women are often more financially worse off than men are after a divorce, but those are stats that don't fit the the narrative that men are victims. Just like 97% of couples decide the mom would keep the child with no courts involved. Only less than 4% of men Legally don't get custody their kids, if they show up to court and fight for them. But again, men are victims so it doesn't fit the pity party scene.
It's interesting that relationships aren't seen as something to be builded on, and could just not work out because of something they've done, or both partners did. To these men, women are objects to be used, and therefore any failure of the relationship, can only be a her problem.

I’ve noticed the same thing. A lot of these alpha male grifters legit look and sound like people I know with serious mental illnesses. (Family members with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, etc.)
I hope that mental health continues to become less stigmatized, because a lot of people who make and relate to this kind of content could legitimately be suffering from brain-based illnesses! There are therapeutic and medicinal interventions that can help. No one should suffer alone with things like unprovoked intense mood swings, overreactions, high irritability/rage, paranoia, depression, etc.
We (hopefully) don’t shame people for genetic illnesses that require medication like diabetes, or supports like glasses. One day, I hope society also stops shaming people with mental illness, so that people aren’t afraid of the labels and will have easier access to the supports they need and deserve. 🙏 (And hopefully, all societies move towards ensuring people of ALL economic classes have access to such healthcare!)
He was in my feed somehow a couple years ago and the videos were about faith and spirituality but a bit paranoid. I do worry about him because I think he most likely has an untreated mental illness. It seems like a lonely place to be. And there's a lot of pattern-making and repetition in the videos I've seen where I think he's neurodivergent in some way. I hope your aunt is doing well.

That's the problem, though. Deep down, he _wants_ it to be at least one of these women's problems. But he's clearly not a person who can understand that consent is a thing, and that if a woman doesn't want to deal with the incredible level of overwhelming bullshit (and let's be frank: *PROJECTION* ) he's bringing to the table, then, yeah. He's going to find building any kind of relationship with a woman difficult. When I’m having a conversation with a man I don’t know, I am analyzing him the whole time and I say things and ask specific questions just so I can get a better feel for what he’s really about without him noticing what I’m doing.
