Ma Long by a mile. He is the most successful table tennis player ever. He has won more tournaments and Olympic gold medals than any other player.
head to head... but Wang Hao did not play in Ma Long best years. Their matches were played in Wang Haos best years, so is amazing that Ma Long, when was young and not in his PRIME, won so many mathes agains him. So Ma Long in global is much better player, our GOAT.
Overall, Ma Long is better. In terms of achievement, Ma Long is better by quite a margin. Actually, he is better by miles than any player, old and young. However, Wang Hao did have Ma Long's numbers for quite a few years when Wang was in his prime years.
At the TIME Wang Hao was better, he had Ma Longs number many of the times. The reverse penhold grip is wonderful, and I use it at age 68 and am competive with players half my age.

Wang's serving technique looks a bit dubious to me. Instead of throwing the ball straight up he throws it towards the bat. Am I wrong?
Why not install a fan or a hair dryer on the side of the table at net level. Come and dry off, go and play.

@xeanowos, no, being 12 to 11 doesnt mean one is stronger while the other is weaker, it means, both are completely equal. To claim one is better, the head to head must be something like 18-7 or 15-10.
So wang hao was never stronger than ma long even if only looking at the head to head.
And if we look at the entire career, ma's longevity, dominance and achievement is better by far. There is no comparison.
Still now, ma is still playing and he is still better than 99,99% players. Even fan zendhong cant still beat him easily.
It's funny how they both repeatedly wipe imaginary specs off the same spot on the table.
