FILMED AT THE VICTORY SHOW IN THE UK AT FOXLANDS FARM IN COSBY IN LEICESTER, LE9 1SG ON 1-9-2018,
Love seeing these birds in the air. Thanks for not playing music over them. Love those engines...
thanks todd
Wow, beautiful video sir, just beautiful. 🤔
many thanks BB
Very cool, and we get to hear the music we want! Those beautiful engines
thanks mat,
Wonderful video of some classic warbirds! That C-47 driver greased that big bird in quite nicely!
All without any flaps to boot!👍
4:50... “enough to make you weep” 😄 Fantastic video.. absolutely stunning aircraft..
The P47 was in much better shape than all the others at touchdown. A pleasure to watch
Excellent, truly excellent. Damn, but those P51 engines sound sweet.
God my heart is in my mouth when they bounce like that, especially when the nose is airborne with the tail wheel on the ground!
Fantastic filming, thanks for sharing!
many thanks
That spitfire land was rather messed up.
Thank you for this...
It was enjoyed 😏
Glad you enjoyed it
What do I learn from this Video? That a litte bounce on landing with my rc warbirds is totally scale. Thanks for the upload, great footage!
lol - oh yes even the real ones got thrown around sly
Lovely stuff!
Always like to watch the warbirds take off and landing, especially on short strips.
thanks brad, love to see them bounce around as well

"Whoops a daisy" .. (it's enough to make u weep)

Looks like a tricky field to land on
Shadows on aproach over that tree line look great
Regards
Jeff
thanks jeff, yes it looked tight but if the Dakota can get in then almost anything can I reckon
Mustang my favorite plane!
Superb Tbob!
many thanks steve
For a sec I thought that they were RC but then I realized still really cool
thanks nat, glad you liked them m8
Thunderbolts are not the best looking fighter from WW2 but they sure are the toughest looking.
So cool!
thanks air
Liked this video bro.
cheers ken - thanks
Wish i could have been there.
How do they not put chuckhole divots in the turf? Seems like after a while it would make for some awfully rough touch downs.....
thanks bill
Love the war birds
thanks mark
Fantastic
thanks bill
I live near Cosby and I’ve been to this before
Spitfire
Hurricane
"Bumps a daisy it's enough to make You Weep"
"you can teach monkeys to fly better than that"
Yes...😂
You know a single engine plane with a very big 3 or 4 blade prop really means business.
deffo
Np
that looks like a strange approach
why
Vn. Bummer there were no zero's
thanks axer, yes they are as rare as rocking horse shit im afraid
bouncy, bouncy
lol
There were a few who nailed it. The P-47 weight helps plant it on sod. The P-47 weight without ordnance is around 10,000 pounds and the P-51D is lighter at around 7,600 pounds.
thanks jay
European pilots should be very concerned about getting enough practise on their tail dragger warbirds! There were a couple of landings particular the hurricane , which clearly indicated insufficient training in flying at proper approach speeds. This approach with all its obstacles is a demanding approach in which the skills of a pilot unmistakingly will come to light. The DC3 captain standing out by showing how it’s done by a true pro! Those airplanes are a unique unreplacable historical treasure and they deserve to be treated as such with the utmost care. Despite the high fuel and maintenance cost, we need to make sure their pilots acquire sufficient flying time to be able to maintain the required skills to fly them safely. A well known test pilot once said: any airplane aims at killing you, you need to learn how to stop it from doing so!
Can't tell for sure but it seems there's a slight downhill grade to this somewhat bumpy runway. If so, I give all a passing grade on their landings. I didn't see any that were dangerous or liable to cause damage.
Those few who greased their landings deserve a special round of applause.
Watch the old newsreels of WW2 fighters returning home on grass airfields. You will see the same mix of results.
Spoken like a true flight sim ace
the Spanish did really massacre the beautiful lines of the Me 109 with that Hispano Suiza engine, the Buchon painted as German 109 look really ugly
yep I agree nivola
It's a Merlin.
Wasn't that a P-40 painted as a Me-109? I'm pretty sure that was one of the ones they used for The Tuskagee Airmen movie. They used painted P-40's as 109's.
