    Apologies for shorter vid. I had to work on my cars. Also the engine is a mockup engine it will not be harmed by the sparks.

    @oculusangelicus8978 9 місяців тому

    If you have room for it, I suggest you create a small under-carriage ram air scoop that leads air to your chain to help control the temperature of your chain, it's worth a shot. motorbikes either remove the chain entirely and go with a belt or they keep the chain because there is enough airflow to keep it's temperature under control. A belt might also be an option for you too. Also it would also be a good idea to put in a heat shield to protect your chain from radiant heat, from the engine/exhaust. Temperature is ALWAYS the top concern with any performance vehicle so doing your best to mitigate it is never a wasted effort. do some before and after race temperature tests for temperature of the chain and then install a small ram scoop for air directed at the chain and see if it makes a difference, if not then you can remove the small drag producing item and be done with it, but I think it will go a long way to extending the life span of the chain.

    Bro you are doing so well! I honestly wish I could spare you some money, I'm so strapped for money myself at the moment 😧
    Maybe when I sell my RX7 to start a new project (I've got a half renovated house at the moment) maybe then I'll send you a few bucks?
    Heck I'll be honest and say that I'm picking up cans to cash in at the recyclers just so I've got enough fuel to get to work each week; but getting to work keeps me and my dog fed so that's all I care about at the moment.
    Dreams are just pie in the sky for me at this point in life, so I get to experience some joy vicariously through you and your creations!
    So thank you and God bless

    You know you can keep all the bracket tree for the reverse much closer just add another pulley that way you can make your chain twice as long but keep everything closer and you could have switched the brackets out for aluminum brackets so that way you could have just welded it to the frame but it all works the way you have it

  • @jaydensdream714
    @jaydensdream714 9 місяців тому

    980mm axles that prorche uses are great! VWs, audio, Acura and Mitsubishi all use them. Diffs usually have axle flanges and the axles bolt into place great for custom just remove portion of axles to size. Inboard ad out board cvt axles allow huge travel.😅

  • @mikes78
    @mikes78 9 місяців тому +1

    Looking good. Though my very first thought is that you should put tubing in the middle of the aluminium rectangle section where the bolts go through to provide compression strength. Because you probably won't be able to get internal access to do any welding, you will likely have to drill the top hole larger, drop in the tubes and then tig it in from there and possibly a couple of bottom tacks to secure it from wiggling about.
    Otherwise, fantastic.

    • @bryduhbikeguy

    I built a starter-motor-powered Hydraulic Power Unit, chain-drive with that smallest toy-like chain [driving a power steering pump], I have it lifting an engine hoist crane.
    but concerning chain heating up, what I found was greatly related to gear ratios. With too extreme a ratio I saw the chain even heat up red-hot and change colors due to the torque involved. But with a more reasonable ratio my device works fine now and can lift thousand of pounds without the small(and short!) chain even getting warm. Just a thought to consider about supersport-powered chain drive vehicles and chains overheating.. but they have to deal with the existing gear ratios they are handed with engine/vehicle/diff-box combos.

    If that Reverse Box has Porsche output flanges, you might look into VW driveshafts. 80s and 90s VWs had 90mm, 100mm or 108mm 6 bolt flanges. Maybe a fit, but don't know Porsche flange specs.
