Imagine aliens just showed up one day to do odd quests and occasionally just do acts of terrorism.. we would be horrified! Haha

Well he knows he's just going to respawn in an hour. So this is only a minor inconvenience to him. It's not like NPCs suffer exp loss or stat debuffs upon respawning.
To free up processing power, the guards look for slight movements when you're in their FOV during the night cycle. This reduces lag and makes it more realistic when patrolling the city at night. The only bug is that guards can't see interior lighting...
The double take seeing the corpse at the end again got me. I was already having a good time but that one was the final hit that just nailed the whole video.
I want to see a video of the guard npcs training to say their lines "There's someone around here" "No, PROWLING, there's someone PROWLING around here" "Oh, sorry. For Country and King !"
This is the most accurate NPC man ever and that's saying something. The repeated lines, the "OMG a dead body! Oh guess it was the wind" vibe.....so good.

Ben's level 38. Rowan was 20. The assassin's guild quest might be one of the first implemented in skycraft. Where you needed a true grind to hear the funny stuffs. Then popularity and new content obliged for easier fun. Or micro transactions.

Great vid, gents! I am digging the tavern set piece and costume upgrades from the past couple seasons, fantastic work by costume and props departments! I would have loved it if Rowan had walked over to the window when Ben was climbing out, gotten almost nose to nose with him, staring into his eyes, searching intently, and then went back to his normal patrol status.

Merchant NPC probably gets paid by the adventurer/quest so the quicker he's killed the quicker he gets paid

It was probably a full moon; the assassin class gets a stealth boost on a full moon, plus a boost from crouching with the assassin robe.
I am still in awe of how professional the production, the acting and the charisma of these guys--- looking forward to a full length movie
