Seems unlikely, would ruin business, at least for successful ones. Though it does seem like a great place for shady activities. But what do I know? Not like I ever went to one. And if I did, I don't think I'd care if they did record me.

Yeah hourly hotels exist in the USA, they just are usually cheap and poor quality and specifically near certain parts of town
