The newbees stutter step, miss opportunities, and try to get the ball into their best foot. Alex has reflected both feet for a quick shot. New additions have much to prefect to be at Alex’s caliber of striker.

Thanks for posting this comp. It really shows how much work Alex has been doing on her game....specifically her defensive annoyance, movement off the ball and setup passes. She's always been a great striker, but has added these levels to her game. Is anyone else pissed off that they didn't get to SEE the actual game, because they only broadcast it on Paramount + ??? WTF? I don't know ANYONE who has a subscription to that service. It's BS.
Alex had a great game. Notice it took a penalty to finally get a goal. So in spite of Alex and the American superiority at offense, the Canadian defense was superior in keeping the Americans goalless for the entire match. The heroism of the Canadian defense is unparalleled.

It certainly was not because of the penalty kick. If you watched the tournament she was obviously one of the most dominant and creative players on the pitch. Saying she won player of the tournament just because of that is just silly.
After what JIll Ellis did to her in the world cup this is even more deserved. And if you don't know what I'm talking about you will remember her getting woman handled, earning a PK and then Ellis giving the Anti-American Rapinoe the spot and Golden Boot. Both were dead even up until the gift.
@@dp3909 When Jill Ellis was asked about Rapinoe taking the PK rather than Morgan she said that Rapinoe was always the PK go-to. I looked at statistics and that was bogus as they both had almost identical pk stats throughout their career. Also, Morgan had stepped to the spot in the world cup and Ellis pulled her. As far as Rapinoe, becoming independent would not change my attitude towards this country that does so much for me. Rapinoe is about as deserving of the Gold Boot as she is of the Medal of Freedom.

I don't blame the players but I have seen all their matches and has not the ability to bond this team and they win with low scors teams they should end up with a lot more goals. What will happen when they will start playing serious games? They won Canada with a little luck winning the pk otherwise the game would and 0 - 0

I agree. After the World Cup, this new coach took an A team and made two B teams out of it, so obvious in the Olympics. The mix and match approach just doesn't build a cohesive team.
