Hi! My name is @Justine Sounds. In this Harmony Game, I'll show you how to sing in harmony "Rewrite The Stars" by Zac Efron and Zendaya from The Greatest Showman and you can practice it:
1. WITH ME First, I’m showing you only one voice so you’re not disturbed with all the other parts. You can easily listen to it, memorize it and sing it with me.
2. SING ALONE Second step it’s probably not so satisfying but it's essential to reach our goal. Before you’ll start singing in harmony you have to be sure you can sing it on your own. Without any help and getting lost.
3. IN HARMONY In the final step, you’re ready to practice it with all the other voices. Maybe it’s not gonna be easy at the very beginning but you’ll see how rewarding it is. It’s an amazing feeling to harmonize.

Happy to help! 😊 It's not so complicated. In this video: two different melodies create harmony. Tricky thing is to separate them but this is exactly why I did this video so you can listen to individually. 😉

This video really helped me. I discovered it yesterday and was practising it a lot, and now today. I’m not the best at singing in harmony, but I learnt zendaya’s part and I reckon I can honestly say it helped me a lot. I feel like I can sing in harmony more confidently.

Here on the video you can see only vocal sheets but I assume that somewhere on the internet you'll easily find piano notation 😉

Amazing! Does anyone know why the Male voice in the 2nd part is the harmony? I thought it was the melody since in the first part it was
What do you mean? 🤔 We have two voices here: one male and one female... When you sing a female vocal you need to add that male one to create harmony it works the same the other way around. Harmony means more than one note at the same time. It's simple as that 😉 💕
@@openmindedsinging you're right sorry, I meant why does the male part in the first half have the main melody, like the part everyone remembers, but the 2nd half it seems like the male voice doesn't have the main melody anymore?
@@musico4609 With the harmonies (especially in the duets) it's always tricky to tell which melody is main. 🤷🏻♀️ Good example might be also "Say Something". The male part seems to be the lead from the very beginning but in the bridge Christina's part is standing out more. Since I'm doing this series and I can hear more and more clearly all the voices I keep asking myself how is it possible that people know which melody is that main vocal. 😊 I came to the conclusion that it might be connected with the root notes. If the melody goes more with the chords as the root notes it obviously seems for a listener as the lead. But this is just the theory. It's probably much more complicated 😉 It happens also with some adlibs. Some of them people remember and sing as a main part while the other adlibs with the same loundness are just treated as some backing vocal.
Where did you find the sheet music?
I wrote it 😉 Btw as all the sheet music on this channel. Unfortunately, there is no such thing as sheet music with all the vocals. You can find some arrangements for the choirs but it is never written down as in the original songs. 🤷🏻♀️

This is nice but I noticed you sing some different notes than what you show. Some are simply small slides but others are just different from the notation so that's not very helpful unless you address that.
Everything is exactly the same as I sing!! I just rechecked it. 😉In all parts with singing "In Harmony" you see in the notation what you should sing and I sing that other part. (Maybe somehow that was a cause of your confusion). Of course, there is no interpretation in the notation cause if I would add all the slides, articulation, and dynamics the sheet music would be very busy and it would also leave no room for your vocal expression. It's not necessary in pop music and also it would be harder to read. 😊
