The Uglies: An Unhinged Plot Summary

Hi Besties,
I decided to do something a little bit different than what I normally do. I read The Uglies written by Scott Westerfeld because the Netflix adaptation is coming out on September 13, 2024. It has been a while since a a pivotal YA book has had an adaptation. Also, this book is almost 20 years old which is super confusing as to why Netflix wanted to adapt it because the YA book adaptation is well behind us. If you don't want to read the book but curious as to what the plot is, then here you go.

I read the graphic novel from Shay's point of view and it made me realize thats how it should have been in the OG, who made Tally the MC.

I loved this series as a teen. I hope Netflix doesn't do it's usual butchering of all their series! I think the message in it, however flawed the books are, is extremely prevalent today. So many people are becoming botched or alike in the pursuit of "beauty."

I agree! it has an important message but the execution was poorly done. I have not watched the Netflix adaptation because I don't know if yall would want a reaction video from me after already watching this video.
