I just discovered the awesome benefits of dry firing about a year ago. But you are right about the muscle memory of racking the slide after every shot. I haven’t ever done it with live fire but I have almost racked the slide after doing a couple of hours of dry firing then going in the backyard to see my progress with live fire.
This is the first I've heard of you guys, and this video is awesome. Simple tips, clean execution, expert advice and experience. This is the shit that makes UA-cam worthwhile, bless you guys, I'm a subscriber, can't wait to see the 24 hour torture test.
This is such a great channel. Chadd I don’t know if you would ever read this but if so I would love to see a backyard conversation about the process once you get assigned to your team after passing your final seal qualification training. Keep up the videos man!!
Something that was a game changer for me, hop online and buy a green gas blowback airsoft pistol in whatever pistol configuration you are going to carry, They're 1:1 weight for the most part, the slide reciprocates like a real handgun, and it's way cheaper than burning ammo on those days/weeks you cant get to the range. Keeps from building training scars that come with dry firing an unloaded pistol
I committed to shooting 1,000 round case of ammo a month. It’s a lot of work.. however it’s been 5 months since I’ve been doing this. I feel so much more confident at what I’m doing. Great video. I need a dry fire tool. Getting bored of racking everytime hahah
I conceal carry every day and have been for 25 years. These Chad vids inspired me to work on my pistol skills. NOW I dont like how I carried my pistol and are having a time trying to figure out where I want to draw from. Apendix carry guy prev. Now I just dont know lol But my grip , stance, And understanding are much better, Just the draw part is my weak point.
Amazing video. The drills listed here are definitely worth practicing regularly. Being nitpicky here. But during the shock cadence drill, you mentioned that you want to keep shooting until the target is “eliminated.” Most people when they hear “eliminated” they think “kill the target”. Thinking like this will likely end you up prison. We never want to shoot to “eliminate a target”, we want to shoot until we are 100% certain at the target is no longer a threat. In most cases, this may be the same thing, but for all my CCW guys out there, shooting to kill will send you to prison.
For dry fire I also recomend the exact same setup as your edc but an airsoft replica it's a really cheap and fun way to train you can do it in your backyard without disturbing anybody.
convinced me to get the coolfire as opposed to mantis - if i could only have one for now, although i may probably get mantis in future as a mock-personal-coach
They do not have to be in competition. Just by the adapter barrel without the targeting system. And then put your mantis on your pistol and now you have both
I know it is not dry fire, but I choose to use 22lr for lots of reps. It is cheap again now that I can get 100 rounds for about $12. I can use the same ammo for my 22lr AR and pistol so I can do transitions from rifle to pistol. Also if you get cheap ammo it will double feed or just screw up in general so I get to learn to clear issues of both.
Im new to firing. When I first shot at the range, I noticed my grip isn't as tight as it needs to be as when I dry fire, I can see the lead dot pull to the right when I pul the trigger. I need to fix that.
I’m originally a Ga boy and might be near Atlanta in a week or so. Can I come support the true form running challenge in person? Fellow combat vet and big fan of the channel.
Hi sir ! Thanks for not only your service but your vids! Regarding my dry fire drills what product system did you use? I wanna use my own guns and co2 but couldn’t figure out what product you us ! Thx Dom Parr
Thanks for the reminder. I bought a Glock 19 X air soft Gas operated pistol for force on force training and a Glock 19X co2 pistol BB gun. Both operate just like the real deal without the loud bang. I will share your video. Thanks!!!!
Chadd, awesome drills! Where do I order the Cool Fire trainer? I assume it's weapon-specific per caliber, barrel length, etc. Is it available for a Walther PPQ SC 9mm?
With the shot cadence, should we be practicing shooting the target more than once if the target is down with one shot? The reason I ask is because of witnesses. If the target goes down with one shot and we keep shooting them we could be in trouble with the law or am I not thinking about it right? I am new to dry firing so I don't know the ins and outs.
Anyone have experience with the Coolfire trainer he’s using? What’s the longevity? I do a lot of dry fire and every product like it I’ve tried doesn’t hold up very well.
Have had great experience with my kit. 1000+ "rounds" had a few hiccups nothing i couldn't fix. I bought extra o rings and things when i ordered my kit
Can someone explain how its useful to be fast at reholstering without looking? Seems lile the weapon system should only be put away when the scene is safe
It makes me so mad that they don’t sell that system for my FN. I was very excited to get the recoil feedback with dry firing. Anyone know a system like this that supports FN?
All this equipment must cost a pretty dollar. it may be more beneficial to buy a revolver. Double and single action. . One option is to buy a snubnose that you can use to carry. You don’t need any fancy equipment just double action trigger on revolver, which will help you in Shooting your semi automatic pistol, and you have another gun and you can do all of these drills with that revolver. As I said a snubnose 38 special or 327 federal magnum may be a few pennies more and you have an extra gun that you can perform all these same drills without buying any equipment plus you have another firearm which you can use to carry in the winter time in your jacket, 🧥

Wow it costs a lot - but I really like the idea. Safe dry firing with the ability to shoot multuple shots v rack the slide, pull the trigger, rack the slide...................ad nauseum.
Great tool but at about $600 for the basic kit and laser tip and near $1000 for the complete system with the feedback targets. Definitely more than most can afford. Awesome videos from you though Chad as usual tell it like it is and no bs. Thank you for your service Sir.
You should always look at your holster when putting the pistol back in, and when drawing it out, you should never look at your holster. The reason you would not be holstering if an active threat was still present.
Don’t develop a bad habit of looking at your holster after firing one shot. The drill is to practice getting your first shot off. It’s not a drill to practice reholstering.
Coolfire sucks and is too much; Im an officer, do this instead- get Umarex Glock 19X co2 half blowback and mantis X3!! If you carry a Glock 22 like me the umarex glock 19X will fit perfect in your Glock 22 holster
That’ll help you a lot shooting a different weapon. But if you want to hold your weapon and get good at your weapon you have to use your weapon. But if you don’t do anything that airsoft gun is better than nothing
No reason not to look when reholstering your weapon. By definition you should reholster only if it's safe to do so and not under direct threat. Not looking is tacticool, but it may not be the best information to disseminate.
My 'dry fire' ■ is empty communion wine bottles at the door frames; if in use, I fire off my mouth, "With the Lord God's help...in Jesus name; thank you Father and your Son."
Don’t lose sight of the purpose of the drill. The point of the first drill is to get the first shot off, not the last. You do not want to develop a bad habit of looking for your holster after firing your first shot.
You can refill them yourself with dry ice. Look at the weight on the side of the can, put the can on a scale while you fill it up to that weight. Once you get the right amount of dry ice in there, screw the cap back on. The caps for the soda stream bottles have a valve you have to seal up or all the co2 will escape. Some grocery stores sell dry ice by the pound. Just break it up with a hammer and pour it in with a funnel. You need a narrow funnel, which gets clogged easily, so I would use a chopstick to poke it down and clear the clog. Get more dry ice than you need. You will have a loss as it melts and evaporates, which happens fairly quickly. If you only have the one canister, start with 2 pounds until you get your process down and can get away with less.
Great content I appreciate the infor Cool Fire Trainer is probably a good product. I’ve tried to call them to place an order. But they don’t return phone calls or emails. I even tried FB which they sent me a message back a month later & said they would contact me. Maybe one day they’ll call me back! Lol

Coolfire is a very expensive kit but well worth the investment.

Thanks dude
Thanks

Great video Chadd! Thankyou for sharing your experience with us!
Thanks for sharing more great info. I can see many good training applications for this product. Keep on keeping on. And as always God bless!

One for rifle as well please and thank you.
You convinced me to get both the Dry Fire Mag and the Mantis X.
Nice cabin
Thank you 😊
Thank you! This was so helpful and informative
Thank you Sir

Cmmg conversion kit is awesome 😎
What about dummy rounds/snap caps? Does anyone know if those are good?

More drills! Can you come up with one’s that incorporate cardio?
What equipment are you using to reset tour trigger?
The cool fire ones are cool i really need to invest in one but man theyre high
Blessings and love

@@Pressingontoperfection, You will have to check the manual.
What brand ?
@ Umarex, Glock G19X.
Great video 👍How do you refill the bottle.
Snapping in.
Awesome 😎
👍👍 Great info!
awesome
That's a very valid point for dry firing- racking it after dummy rounds! What is this system?
Good morning Sir. What is the equipment you are using? Tool, belt , holster
He has videos for each of the questions you just asked

Where can I buy one of those
Cool fire trainer

I got a Glock switch so I just have to hold down the trigger and sweep toward the next target
What is the name and Where did you get that dry fire kit
How long does a bottle co2 last if you dry fire 15 minutes for 5 days

Do they make that co2 barrel and bottle to work with any other makes and models?
Yes
Great video brother. Dang, I'd love a coolfire but they are pricey .
Yup, but so is ammo! :)
Can someone explain how its useful to be fast at reholstering without looking? Seems lile the weapon system should only be put away when the scene is safe
Seems to me you’ve been watching the sheriff of Baghdad but you’re right
What’s the name of the cool fire product you use?
Hi,I also have a 19x ,What is the name of this system, where can I buy it?
Coolfire or Mantis? Which do you prefer/recommend? Thanks. Much appreciated.
They don’t have to be in competition. You can buy just the cool fire adapter barrel and then put your mantis on the weapon.
How does your gun reload by it self?
Cool Fire
What kind of pistol was he using as his trainer??
What system are you using?
..for god sake
Can you help me understand why you don’t look when holstering? Seems like a dangerous practice
Taking your eyes off the scene around you is dangerous. No reason to look down while holsters, very bad habit

I'm a novice. thought this would destroy the firing pin
Dry fire is fine. No damage done to the firing pin on modern handguns. That is is myth
You can also use airsoft replicas.
Why would you not look at your gun when you're putting it back in the holster? You wouldn't be reholstering while under threat.
Say you’re transitioning to a slung rifle. Eyes on target. Not on your holster.
