I’ve owned my umbrella for several years. Figured out why it would no longer crank up to its proper height. It’s not the crank falls off try not to damage it or break the string. The problem is canvas shrinks after being in the weather for so long. To fix the issue hacksaw approximately 1 inch off the end of every rod The unit will then crank up to its proper height once again. Be careful of the wiring where the switch is located
I was about to type that out and saw your post. My rope broke within a year and I replaced it with parachute cord, which supposedly won't ever fray. Why they would use such a shit piece of string/rope in the first place defies reason.
I bought mine from LOWES and the top support arm broke off and damaged the umbrella. luckily, no body was under the umbrella when it happened. The reviews are not very good. Is there way to get a replacement on this?

Good one handed assembly demonstration, thanks. Looks like a pretty good buy for $300.
