    I just recently moved from FL to Logic. FL was great to learn production on, but Logic feels like a more complete and professional product. The interface is less confusing and there are way fewer mouse clicks and sub-menus in Logic to accomplish the same thing as in FL most of the time.

      Question for garage band users..Since I already have it installed on my MacBook I should give it a try, but want to ensure it will work well for my main purposes of using such software…and that is to create remixes of current songs using either acapellas into a beat of another song, or creating my own beat to use to the acap…mainly just editing songs, such as cutting a portion of a song to use as a sample or sound FX for my dj mixes, adding sound effects to those vocal samples, loops etc…thx for any input!

Doing some patterns changing something on piano roll its just simply easy. But when you like mixxing you have to open all the time the mixxer tab and it feels kinda junky with this windows on fl. I think logic comes with a superior set of stock mastering effects and synths price wise. The downside to it is that it’s very cpu heavy I find, it can be overkill for my needs. Fl studio is still an excellent daw, if I was still on windows I’d be using it today. I might go back to it. In 2005 we rocked fl and sometimes cool edit, back when protools was industry standard.
    I know people put in a lot of work to design these programs but I find some of these modern Daws so pricey for my needs. That’s why I use logic X.

      @@Rulon-bo1ig I converted recently to M1 and it's perfect for these Daws and what you can throw at them. Logic is still superior to me, coming from someone who started on FL. FL's stock plugins are still very shit, I mean look at the compressor for starters, it's a joke, not mentioning the tacky EQ. The only decent plugin is the limiter, which has a decent compressor. I'd say stick with Logic.

    • @Rulon-bo1ig
      @Rulon-bo1ig Рік тому

      @@bassinblue yeah fl for me now is more nostalgia than anything and it’s fun to open up an make a quick beat, people coming from another daw who’d never used it in the past can be thrown off it though, it’s a very different workflow I find. Logic is superior in many domains I agree, providing one has a computer that can handle it. I love the logic adaptive limiter for adding loudness without too much sound degradation. Hey plp, great vid..love it. I need help. I have used GarageBand but I want to trry a better DAW..GarageBand stuff was old GarageBand. I am a song writer with a Mac mini M1.. and a pretty minimalist thang, but I want my songs to be good enough to entice other musos to play with me, or to add videos to and put on YT . I am thinking Logic or FL or Live. FL has the lovely beat grid. Ableton has the all the tricks but I dunno if I’m up for it and it looks way weird with its different displays but I do like the signal chain on the bottom. (It also looks ugly but who cares) Limits of GB were 1) can’t speed up and slow down along with a mix of tracks that include audio and midi. 2) limited stock sounds, I need…1) a reasonable library of sounds in the box..especially analog synths, organs from 60s Farfisa, etc., piano,s , 2) a good arpeggiator that’s easy to use and can apply to an audio track such. As a sustained guitar chord, 3) works well with Mac M1, 4) isn’t gonna crash on my Mac mini cos it’s too demanding, 5) isn’t a massive learning curve, 6) is super easy to create a mix on and send off a file, 6) doesn’t take forever to load up songs , 7) has a grid similar to FLs or like the one here on Logic shown… Do you have any advice…ps…I have the concentration and patience of an ant!

But look...i have 90% decided..and you are spot on..I think Logic is the way to go. As I have said, i have the patience of a peanut, and the tech IQ, call it TQ, isn't much better.
