Repairing a Damaged Thread With a Helicoil Insert - Complete, Step By Step Repair Process

- Hello everyone and welcome back to the Shed!
In this video I am going to be doing something a little different, but hopefully you will all find it interesting, if not useful!
I am going to be carrying out a thread repair on one of the bolt holes in the rear subframe of my VFR800 VTEC where the passenger grab handles are fitted.
One of the bolts is damaged which has consequently, caused damage to the thread inside the hole, preventing fitment of the bolt.
So, I am going to fix this problem using my trusty Helicoil insert kit.

had a similar job today had a timesert to fit to the crankcase of a chinese quad drilling out the sheared bolt was a bit of a bastard must invest in some decent drill bits lol
