Its refreshing to see a man who once embodied masculinity in films like the "The Mummy" turn out to have that same strength in real life that he portrayed on camera. A man's strength is, to me, not just soley defined by his physicality but also by the extent to which he allows himself to be vulnerable. And i am glad to see men who are victims of sexual assault speaking up about their experiences. So...anyway. I love Brendan Fraser. That's all.

His therapist must be worth his/her weight in gold, but so is Brendan because he clearly did the hard work to get to this point of strength and open vulnerability. Bravo!

At no point has any prominent masculine man ever said that a man can NEVER be vulnerable. A man simply needs to be stoic and understand who he can and cannot expose his vulnerability to. That's the greatest misconception a lot of people have about masculinity, especially ones who believe in the laughably vapid generalization of "toxic masculinity".

Great comment! I felt the same thing while watching this interview, trying to juxtapose him in all of the various movies we love him in, with him in reality. His deep tenderness is what makes his acting so powerful and relatable and believable. Brendan Fraser is truly a treasure. I just want to hug him.

I have been sexually assaulted multiple times & tried many times to slowly expose myself to triggers despite experiencing disassociation. I think if it's not calling, it's going to be him. Normally, whoever gets the Golden Globe get the Oscar. But I think that this year, there is some sort of idea that Austin can get the Golden Globe because he's young and new, whereas the Oscar will go to either, nor Brendan because of their tremendous body of work

I love him. I know he was absent for years I know he had his hardships and still does and his pain and his physical toll and all that.
But the fact that he’s had his recent resurgence, his recent love and being well received by most everyone…
All this talk of Brendan Fraser makes me think he never left. I know he took a break, I know he’s had it tough, but the fact he came back to this amazing reception and attitude it’s like when he was at his peak.
And let’s be real. Everyone who has seen the The Whale and his performance know that… THIS is his peak.
And his confidence to be out in the open with this. Sure he’s an action star, but now that he’s returned as well as being his truest self and coming out with his truth…
I can’t wait to see more, but on HIS terms. Don’t overwork yourself Brendan! We love you and wanna keep seeing you!
