Excellent lesson simple and to the point. Thank you
Honestly, out of all the videos I've watched on the number system this was the best. Thanks.
Thanks so much, you just saved someone from 10 years guitar lessons. God bless you! ✨🤗🤗
This covers a lot. Offering the how and why, then connecting it in practical application. Fantastic lesson.
This was a great tutorial. Very simple and I finally really understood it for the first time. Thank you!

I advise anybody learning about "guitar numbering system" to watch this Video. Excellent explanation. Quite understandable. Highly recommendable.
Dude, thank you for being so simple. I have played by ear for years, what is your recommendations to practice everyday to become a better player with others. I know most of the chords and can play songs using chords on sheet music. What I want to understand is changing keys for different vocalist.
Thank you so much! Super helpful! 🙏

Thank you Makes sense, but the key of Bb would make me sweat if I had to try and figure it out on the fly haha
Wow! This video is just what I needed! Thank you so much I’ll definitely share with my musician friends. Thanks again! Also, you just earned a new subscriber. 🎉
Good video, very clear. But opening screen shows "Undertanding" though. Tip: add the S (:
Just learning this side of theory with the numbering system. When I start playing tomorrow I’ll review again. Still a little fuzzy but it’s starting to click. One thing I didn’t here from you or show a visual to us. Why is it so important. Practically thinking if you get me.
Great Job
I need this chart!!!
Great explanation thank you!
thankyou so much
Redifined guitar playing for me..thanks man😀
Thanks for the lesson! 👍🏼
Very entertaining and informative.
Thanks for this! It's gonna go a long way!
I'm a beginner trying to learn to play thanks for the info.
Very helpful. Thanks now I must learn the chords in each key … or tattoo the chart on my wrist … lol Thanks
this guy is actually explaining it very clearly BUT WHY DID I BUY A GUITAR HOLY GOD
Thanks. Very useful
I hate to say it but jumping between showing where the individual notes were to where the cords were (without explaining a transition between them) I found very confusing. DISCLAIMER: I've yet to get to the point of cord construction. Perhaps a video on how to conceptualize that difference?
What about the minor chords ? When the root note is a minor chord ?
best video exlaning number system
How did you figure out diminished chords??
Hi.. if we are a ble to make song tunes then following this chart we can get complete chords for a song..but if there too many tones in a tune will it not have many chords or we have to skip some chords and use different chords only at turning point of different mood or feeling of a song
Man- how come theres no link for a print out of this !!
As a producer and musician in Nashville for over 45 years I can tell you that the 2, 3, and ,6 chords in the Nashville Number system are never...NEVER automatically minor. The progression you are using (1,2m,3m,4,5,6m,7dim) dates back to the eighteenth century. It's theory is that the chords of a scale must only use the notes of the scale. While this is a valid progression and theory, it is NOT the basis for the Nashville Number System. All the chords in the NNS are played as Major chords unless modified by a suffix such as 2- or 6m. A number by itself will always be played as Major by every professional Nashville musician. If you are interested in teaching this accurately, may I suggest you get a copy of "The Nashville Number System" by Chas Williams. On page 15 under the heading Chord Symbols you will see that I am telling you the truth.
Damn!! And I thought someone had explained this to me correctly!! Thanks for the heads up!!!
@@danluther1741 Glad to have helped you. Thank you for the comment. Best to you!
Hi. This is very helpful. but I was wondering if you could please advised me? wanted to play the F major chord? Would I need to be familiar with the CAGED system? Thanks
Thanks sir!
Breakthrough!!!
He looks like David Pakman.
7 diminished chord video?
Nice use of visuals , humor, music theory knowledge and content are very good Jessee!! Thanks bro! If anyone would like to check out a few music theory videos revolving around similar topics, check my channel Neil Clapp as well.
I have a question sir?
The only thing I don’t get it what tells me some are flats
I'm perplexed. How come you chose to go to the next string over, the A, instead of continuing down the low E string? It's not like you can't hit those notes right?
I liked it....the comedy wasn't bad either.
THANKS
Thank you1
Exellent
At like 7:00 you said F for the key of G. It’s F#... just wanted point that out.
WILDFIRE!!
As a long time Nashville musician and producer, I've been using the NNS here in Nashville for many years and still do...every day. I have much respect for what you are doing in trying to teach the NNS . I enjoyed your video. However, I feel that I must correct you when you say the 2, 3, and 6 chords are always minor. This is a widespread misconception that has been spread by music theory gurus but they don't really understand the NNS. In the REAL NNS used by the world class musicians here in Nashville, all the chords are MAJOR unless designated otherwise as in...2m or 6-. If you present this chart....
1 1 6 6 2 2 5 5 to Nashville musicians they will play all the chords as Major chords. I sincerely hope this helps you. I'm sure you wouldn't want to teach something that is not true.
i have a question , how do you know what barre chords to use ?
It depends on bass (tonic) note in barre chord + there is just major/minor chords, so this is'nt too hard to learn
What is your country name were do you live
He's based in the US so he's probably an American
I still dont know how to use it
How do you translate the number to a chord up the neck
Gerald Pedinotti I’m new to the theory but I’m guessing it has to do with what root the key is in, and what notes make up a major or minor chord using the same intervals that pertain to the key.
I don't get it.
Grant Young I’m with you 🤔🤯
@@Hddizzle4shizzle I barely get it
Now just show us what 1/3 means and 6/4, 5/7 ... ya show us that
Why do you look like your always about to laugh, im an ancient guitar player of 52, and i troll the you tube for shitty teachers, this guys isnt one of them, if you dont know theory follow this man.
Your piano is out of tune.
