Last year I fostered, then adopted a mix breed, part Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever and part Irish Setter. Buddy is his name and he's mostly a Duck Toller in the size and most of the white coloring, except for being dark brown and having some odd stray hairs that are much longer than the rest of his coat. His most remarkable trait is that he is so quiet. I'd had him for 2 weeks before I ever heard him make a sound, and he surprised me at how big a bark he has. I've actually been working on teaching him to speak but it's been hard going. He'll speak a little while stretching after sleep or a nap and that's it. Coming from a Samoyed, who loved to bark and talked to me all the time, Buddy has been a real change of pace.
I paid hundreds of dollars to learn this positive form of training and it’s been wonderful. Notice the closed hand of the person. It has food in it That and happy praise is payment for your request and motivation for most dogs. Setting up a dog for success with simple requests, never getting angry and building on lessens taught before really works. Learning that a dog yawn means it is being agreeable with you, not bored is great. Always having a different word and gesture for each request is also important. No need to yell. Their ears are much better than any person has. No need to ever hit a dog. Become it’s best, most trusted friend and it will try it’s best. Yes, they will make choices or not quite understand. Our job is to show them that we never are mad at them, we ask for a request one time and wait for them to understand. We offer a better choice, praising with food and a happy voice. It’s so positive and worth the work.
amazing!! how you trained it that she walks always wirh you on the same side? Wow. Maybe I will buy me a dog when I have more time - enought time for a dog :) It would be a dream for me.
Nádherný a výborne vycvičený psík. Klobúk dolu pre slečnu čo ho všetko tak krásne naučila. 👏 🇸🇰 👍 🤩

This is my dream result of training! Thanks for the motivation. Now our future puppy still has to be made 😁

@@ozzy6192 adopting is great but it’s all up to personal needs
But he knows excactly where the goodies are ;-)
I noticed the same. Our Toller also works really well with the power of goodies :)
Hi, could I ask what you looked for before selecting your puppy? Any tips would be great! Thanks

I have a toller puppy. Her name in ginger she just turned one
She seems to be so small. How big is she?
Female Toller are between 18 and 20kg. They're about the size of Border Collie.
Does anyone know if I can adopt a toller in Spain/Portugal?
Buy a robot, he doesn’t need cookies
